Cuban: I'd like to buy the cubs, money is no object.
Cubs: Mark, your not just buying the team to rename it the CubANs are you? Cuz we already told you that you can't do that.
Cuban: Dammit. Count me out... again. - toetagger, on 09/26/2008, -8/+2The Chicago Cubins.
- Richie311, on 09/26/2008, -5/+4Most confusing submission title ever.
- thebaron2, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2What's so confusing? Cuban is in Chicago today and he's meeting with the Cubs' ownership.
??- illinoise89, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1I think many not familiar with the situation could read it and come to the conclusion that a Cuban was in Chicago meeting with ownership. Damn companies, selling out to foreign interests!
- lolwutpear, on 09/26/2008, -0/+0I'm from Chicago, and I found it confusing.
- LewP, on 09/27/2008, -1/+1I find it amazing ao many people complain about story titles to articles. Please tell me you kidding when you act so amazed at story headlines like this because if you are truly sincerely confused by this headline, get off of digg and go water your plants.

- soze1, on 09/26/2008, -1/+7Good news if your a cubs fan, guys a great owner.
- centran, on 09/26/2008, -0/+4Please let it be him! He is the only one who is not going to want to change the name of Wrigley field.
If a company buys the cubs then there is no doubt in my mind that they will eventually change the name of the stadium(or maybe tear it down and rebuild!!!!). Mark Cuban would never do such a thing.
FYI, the scoreboard and marquee are historical landmarks but the actual name and rest of the stadium can be changed however the owner see's fit.- wagadugo, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1Most likely scenario of Future Wrigley would be a tear-down and rebuild--- keeping the same marquee and scoreboard, but modernizing the rest of the stadium.
Under that scenario you undoubtedly have a Double Name like they do at Baltimore's Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
So for example- it would be something like Wrigley Field at Google Stadium.
A lot of basketball teams do it too-- naming the Floor and naming the Arena seperately.- centran, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1They could probably fix Wrigley up by gutting it. I don't think it would cost more then a new stadium but it would probably take more time as they need to be careful. That is the key problem here; time. Finding another field to play on might be difficult. They could use Soldier Field but the what do they do at the end of baseball session when football starts up?

- lanismycousin, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1this would certainly make for a very interesting league
- TheJimid, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1He is really still the first of the eccentric .com Generation sports team owners, I can't wait for more. If every owner sat court side every night it would be good for the game.
- uiguy3, on 09/26/2008, -1/+6I refuse to let a Castro supporter own the Cubs!
Oh wait... - biz20, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2At first glance of the title, I thought Fidel Castro was gonna buy the Cubs.
- connieLingus, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2cuban is a master of promotion...this is a perfect example of that.
he would be great for MLB. - greensaxman, on 09/26/2008, -6/+1How many years (now almost 100) does it take to use common sense that they won't make it. I don't keep jumping out of a window to see if gravity will have the same effect on me every time. if i did, I would be a cub fan.I'm from chicago and the cubs are doing great, but as always they will screw it up in the playoffs.
- Shadow57, on 09/26/2008, -0/+4Great news as far as this Cubs fan is concerned. Go Cubbies!
- jarjarwang, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2Go Cubs go, go Cubs go! Hey Chicago what do you say? I think the Cubs will win the baseball game that they play!
- marcashland, on 09/26/2008, -0/+0This song needs to be banned. Everyone who wants to jump the bandwagon buys a Cub's shirt and memorizes the first 6 words of this song and tries to play the part of a loyal fan. The same was true of Don't Stop Believing 3 years ago on the south side.
Cuban will be great for the cubs but I don't see Reinsdorf and the other MLB owners letting this go down.- jarjarwang, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1Excuse me, but I've been a Cubs fan for over 3 months.

- Linguo, on 09/26/2008, -1/+3Why would the MLB and especially the MLB owners association let in another George Steinbrenner when they just got rid of the original? Imagine a bidding war between Hank S. and Cuban. They would single handedly inflate salaries by 100%.
- Steve8955, on 09/26/2008, -2/+0Did he really mean to use "sale" in the headline? I can't believe a typo like that could make it through.
- WSPanic201, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1I hope he becomes the new owner. I also hope he doesn't turn the team into the yankees and forget about the farm team system.
- homer420032003, on 09/26/2008, -0/+1Those damn Cubans!
