    The cubs have, hands down, the most die hard fans in baseball. At home they're 40k+ for every game and when they're away at least 1/2 the crowd is rooting for them.
    
    Sure, WGN's national coverage helps a lot, but still... their fan base is impressive.

    There are some die hard Cubs fans, but I think there are also a lot of fair weather fans at Wrigley any given day as well.

He didn't live in one of the good ones with a good view, but the people that lived in those nice ones would invite everyone to go to their apartment to see the game.   I'd say 1/3 of the people show up to party, 1/3 show up to watch the game, and 1/3 do both.
  
  Regardless - what does it matter? As long as you and whoever you're watching the game with are paying attention does it really make a difference if the chick 3 rows up is studying Zambrano's warmup throws or making out with the chick next to her?

  In my experience, the average Cubs fan is more knowledgeable and attentive than the fans in other ballparks I've visited.

  The nice thing is, nobody can hate you for loving the Royals though. No one will argue with you. They'll just smile and say "Yeah, they're cool" then shake their head sadly toward the next person.

  I think things are looking up though: Gordon, Bulter, Aviles, Grienke, Teahen, Callipso, and Banny should be the core we build around. Meche, Guillen, and Grudzie should be put on the block ASAP to pick up a monster 1B with a bat, somebody like Adrian Gonzoles in SD.

  - They are not just perennial losers, but in the worst way possible. The Cubs have personality and history with Wrigley. Tampa Bay are darlings this year because they were an expansion team. The Royals have been losers for the last 23 years because not only do they not spend wisely on free agents, they have been HORRIBLE at drafting good talent. For as many top draft picks as they are allotted each year, they should have more to show for it than Alex Gordon.
  
  - They are a football town. Kansas City absolutely loves their Chiefs whether they go 13-3 or 6-10. Stores are empty on Sunday afternoons during the games. It's like a larger city version of Green Bay. Royals fans are mostly fair weather fans for this reason. It is no different than St. Louis just with opposite sports. Everybody went ***** for the Rams from 1999-2002, but now that they are in the middle-to-lower-pack people go back to their first love, the Cardinals.

A two flat can run you a few million on the North Side. If you look on the South Side you can get a single family home in the Beverly Morgan Park area for $400,000 to $500,000. Policemen and firemen have to remain within city limits for housing....and many choose the South Side because it allows them to buy homes as opposed to renting. As far as what I said about the North Side....it fits it to a "T."

I am from Naperville, Illinois but came into the property when my grand mother passed away. The neighborhood is called Canaryville....it is a very Irish neighborhood.
    
    Obama is not going to do well in many of the low crime areas....Beverly because they are predominantly white, conservative and police or fireman.

We saw two three bedroom condos in the same area in the $300's. And if you go far enough north or west, you're definitely not going to be paying those kinds of prices there.

Wrigley field is just an old stadium where there are tons of people drinking and barely paying attention to the game. If you go to a game in April, not counting the first week, there is no one really there because it is too cold out. Cub fans are the absolute worst fans in all of sports.

  really though. baseball on tv is crap. i dont know how anyone watches it.
  I had fun playing a few times as a kid, and go to local minor league games once in a while.. but it's mostly just the atmosphere.
  
  I dunno though, soccer really isnt that great to watch on tv either, but it is a hell of a sport. my girlfriend plays, you really have to be in shape to be good at it... and we plan on going overseas to watch some big games once we both finish school
  
  the only game i can really watch on tv and be midly interested is american football to be honest.... the only sports i really actively participate in myself are bmx biking, snowboarding and every kind of motorsport i can find.
