UPDATE: '88 Dodger's Can't Help '08 Cubs After All

stonecipher.typepad.com — It was rumored that the Cubs were looking to snag 1988 Oral Hershiser from the 1988 L.A. Dodgers, but as it turned out, the Cubs were forced into trading present-day prospects for present-day talent. Did something go wrong or were rumors of the trade with the 1988 Dodgers simply a smokescreen, cloaking Cubs GM Jim Hendry's true ambitions: Harden.

    Thanks for your insightful, in-depth reporting and analysis of my beloved Cubs. With all your contacts and inside information, I have to ask....is there any truth to the rumor about Hendry negotiating to bring Steve Bartmann back for the playoffs? Please advise. Thanks.
