Tim Duncan hits a *super* clutch three-pointer watch!
youtube.com — Spurs forward Tim Duncan sends Game 1 of the first-round match-up with the Phoenix Suns into a second overtime by knocking down his first three-point field goal of the season.

- djdalai, on 04/20/2008, -13/+69That Timmy Duncan is probably the most underrated NBA player in history. Its unfortunate that he gets such little press nowadays when he's probably one of the best citizens of his sport.
- threemagic, on 04/20/2008, -5/+41Timmy is NOT underrated, maybe under marketed. There is no one that knows basketball that thinks TD isn't one of the best, if not THEE best, power forward to ever play the game.
I dugg you up because he doesn't get press for being a good guy. That's wrong.- cuoops, on 04/20/2008, -1/+7Yep, Shaq said he is the best on ESPN the other day.
- xGrill, on 04/20/2008, -6/+3Tim Duncan is one of those players that if you even touch, you get a foul.
- Krosfire, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2That used to be AI back in the day. You frikken touched him and he would literally fly across the court and take the foul
- CthulhuDawn, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Agreed. I'm not much of a sports fan, but I've been a fan ever since his Wake Forest days (I live in Winston-Salem, NC). I remember when he refused to go pro even in the face of millions because his mother always wanted him to get a college education. What a guy.
- SmellyFingers, on 04/20/2008, -7/+6One reason is because NBA players are treated like Hollywood celebs now and Tim Duncan is about as bland as you can get.
- Synematic, on 04/20/2008, -2/+20If by bland you mean "not an arrogant showboating prick" like the other stars, then yes.
- ScottMitchell, on 04/20/2008, -1/+3I think he meant bland as is "doesn't talk trash, has a monotone voice, and his most visual reaction on the court is that annoying, wide-eyed, 'You're calling a foul on ME?' look." Don't get me wrong, Timmy is definitely one of the Top 25 NBA players of All Time, but he's certainly one of the least exciting ones.
- TheSuperunknown, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1So, basically what Synematic said.
- Synematic, on 04/20/2008, -2/+20If by bland you mean "not an arrogant showboating prick" like the other stars, then yes.
- stellarceltic, on 04/20/2008, -18/+11"...he's probably one of the best citizens of his sport."
Give me a break. He's a good player, but he complains more than anyone in the league. He ALWAYS thinks he's fouled, and he NEVER thinks he fouls anyone. I hate that stupid "Who, me?" look he always has.- L4WL3RS34L, on 04/20/2008, -3/+22"He ALWAYS thinks he's fouled, and he NEVER thinks he fouls anyone."
Who doesn't think that way in the NBA?- ProjectGSX, on 04/20/2008, -1/+3Exactly.. that is a LEAGUE problem. Its not a Tim Duncan problem.
- StevesJobs, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1Only a sith deals an absolute...
- L4WL3RS34L, on 04/20/2008, -3/+22"He ALWAYS thinks he's fouled, and he NEVER thinks he fouls anyone."
- darkrabbi, on 04/20/2008, -1/+10It's because of the way he carries himself, unlike most other superstars in the league he shows almost no emotion. One can appreciate his borderline mechanical efficiency and cool calm demeanor but unfortunately his personality doesn't translate into marketing viability.
- ProjectGSX, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1"he shows almost no emotion"
He shows emotion when its warranted, and does not show emotion when its not. If he had hit that 3 pointer in November, he would have walked off the court with a blank look.. cause it wouldnt have meant anything.
- ProjectGSX, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1"he shows almost no emotion"
- futureb, on 04/20/2008, -8/+6i used to like tim duncan, but for the last two years i think he has played like a bitch. i don't mean he has played bad, i mean he has played like dirk. complain constantly to the refs about every call...fall down to get bitch charge calls...throw junky shots up into people's arms just to get a foul. i know he is good, but that doesn't mean i have to like the way he plays. it's a shame because it seems to be rubbing off on people like parker, who used to play pretty straight, but now is starting to bitch ala duncan every time he barrels into the lane and doesn't get a foul call. it's also a shame because it seems to work with the refs in the nba. look at that stupid even-up foul they called on diaw last night after duncan whined to the refs for 5 minutes.
- TheSuperunknown, on 04/21/2008, -0/+0I stopped reading after the first sentence because it played back in my head in Riley Freeman's voice. Shut the hell up.
- denshvalaunt, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1It's not Duncan rubbing off on the Tony Parker, it's Ginobili rubbing off on everyone.
- threemagic, on 04/20/2008, -5/+41Timmy is NOT underrated, maybe under marketed. There is no one that knows basketball that thinks TD isn't one of the best, if not THEE best, power forward to ever play the game.
- ethanator1088, on 04/20/2008, -15/+5I guess they are going to start calling him" Big Shot Timmy" :-)
- metateck, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1No. Nobody will call him that except you and whoever replies to this comment to prove me wrong.
- TomK88, on 04/20/2008, -26/+19I would rather see a video of the Spurs flopping all game long, since it would be more representative of the game.
- swllnvag, on 04/20/2008, -7/+7Right, because that's what they're known for. Oh wait, I'm thinking of the Suns.
- truthmatters, on 04/20/2008, -4/+6You have to be kidding me with that comment. Ginobli is the biggest flopper in the NBA. Everyone knows the Spurs are a dirty team, while the Suns are a class act.
- clarionhaze, on 04/21/2008, -2/+3Even if there were truth to your comment the only difference between Ginobli and Nash would be that Manu (nor his fans for that matter) complain about their wounds for a year. Try LOSING with class.
- clarionhaze, on 04/21/2008, -1/+3Yeah because breaking out into a fight with tons of protective gear on makes for a good sport... Canadians *****.the.world!
- swllnvag, on 04/20/2008, -7/+7Right, because that's what they're known for. Oh wait, I'm thinking of the Suns.
- petsheep, on 04/20/2008, -13/+11David Robinson and Tim Duncan for President and VP
- uiguy3, on 04/20/2008, -2/+3You know they would already have a leg up because David Robinson served in the Military.
- hstege, on 04/20/2008, -3/+24All 4 clutch shots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q2THsRO_O4&NR=1
And here's ESPN's recap (actually visible, plus with sound): http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopag ...- theOster, on 04/20/2008, -8/+2what's clutch shot? it looked like a normal three-pointer to me
- hstege, on 04/20/2008, -1/+13making your first 3-pointer in two years when down by 3 as the clock drops below 5 seconds to play is pretty damn clutch.
- theOster, on 04/20/2008, -0/+2got it - clutch is the new "mad". like that shot was mad tight, yo. now i can just say "yo, CLUTCH!!!"
- thisslowdecay, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1clutch meaning the 3 pointer he made was extremely important, as in the last possible moment (nearly) in either winning the game, or in this case, continuing the game so as not to lose.
- hstege, on 04/20/2008, -1/+13making your first 3-pointer in two years when down by 3 as the clock drops below 5 seconds to play is pretty damn clutch.
- ScottMitchell, on 04/20/2008, -1/+4Watch the Finley 3 that sends it to the first overtime. He got so open b/c of a nice moving screen by Oberto. A very heads up play by the big man, as you know the refs aren't going to call a non-egregious off-ball foul in that situation.

- StevesJobs, on 04/20/2008, -6/+22I would be more comfortable if it didn't say *super* in that title.
- asiarock, on 04/20/2008, -3/+3agreed. I don't see what's so *super* about it!
- Alconis, on 04/20/2008, -3/+4He's a big man who only plays in the paint. That and that was the one and only 3 he's attempted all season.
- ScottMitchell, on 04/20/2008, -0/+5Saying "super" is redundant because it doesn't need to be said since the word "clutch" is already used, so it's redundant.
- roflganker, on 04/20/2008, -2/+1Saying "so, it's redundant" is redundant because you've already said it's redundant, so it's redundant.
- ScottMitchell, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3Quick, look behind you, because my joke flew right over your head.

- xdvx, on 04/20/2008, -4/+14Tim Duncan career 3pt 19%
- SmellyFingers, on 04/20/2008, -5/+36Post-game interview went like this:
Reporter: Tim! How did it feel to hit that clutch three...your first of the season!?
Duncan: It was fun.
*crickets*- TheSuperunknown, on 04/21/2008, -0/+0Post game interviews are retarded.
The alternative is usually an only partially coherent verbal soup that boils down to "We put the ball in their hoop more than they did our's."
- TheSuperunknown, on 04/21/2008, -0/+0Post game interviews are retarded.
- StevesJobs, on 04/20/2008, -15/+12I'm surprised he didn't throw up his hands with the "I didn't foul anybody" look on his face.
http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2006/0519/pg2_a_du ...- mlvassallo, on 04/20/2008, -3/+8Suns Fan? Or Mavs Fan?
- stukdog, on 04/20/2008, -11/+16I like the Spurs during the year because they play hard, stay out of trouble, and their three stars seem like good guys.
But, as soon as it gets to the postseason I despise them. They get into dirty play include flop, cheap shots and incredible whining. (And I'm not even a fan of any other NBA team...just calling it like I see it.)- ScottMitchell, on 04/20/2008, -3/+7I think it's primarily Bowen. He's a very dirty player. In Game 1 there was a play where Steve Nash goes up for a layup (and made it, IIRC), but hit the deck coming down. On the replay you see Bowen undercutting him. Par for the course, for Bowen. It must be frustrating playing against him. If he did half that ***** out on the playground, he'd have had his teeth knocked in by now.
- TastyWheat, on 04/20/2008, -1/+2I agree. Bowen is dirty and I'm glad he's playing for us.
- ggfobster, on 04/20/2008, -1/+1Bowen barely even played.............. his shallow performance does not represent the majority of the team.
- thefreshjive, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2You've got to be shallow yourself as the spurs are acknowledged as one of the top defensive teams in the league partly due to Bowen's defensive efforts of shutting down key guards such as Kobe and Nash.
- mwmccullough, on 04/21/2008, -1/+2You should change "incredible whining" to incredible winning and I think you'll have a point. The Spurs do play more aggressively in the post-season, but that's the post-season, everybody does. Bowen gets in peoples heads, it's not pretty, but that's his role. Manu flops. Period. It's ugly, it's old and even a die-hard Spurs fan is tired of seeing it. It's a practice that is used to draw attention to perceived fouls, lot's of people do it, but he's abused it. I'll concede that, I have to, it's only right. The Spurs are like Batman, cold, calculating and ready to attack from the shadows when the moment arrives.

- rbdkx, on 04/20/2008, -4/+7Who won in OT?
- taffyhealscrowd, on 04/20/2008, -1/+12Spurs; Ginobili hit a running layup to win it at the end of double overtime.
- morninglorii, on 04/20/2008, -14/+3Honestly, as sick as that was, that was more of a blunder by Phoenix than anything special from Duncan.
The Spurs were down by 3 with under five seconds left, and Phoenix pulled an extra guy off Duncan to go cover someone who was only going to get two points. The fact that Duncan was WIDE OPEN for a three was completely ridiculous.
Still really cool to watch.- TomK88, on 04/20/2008, -1/+10Duncan isn't a 3-point shooter and nobody would have expected him to take that shot.
- sfcaptainrob, on 04/20/2008, -7/+2Still, they left him wide open with all the time in the world to set up the shot. Bad move by Phoenix.
- TomK88, on 04/20/2008, -0/+18Would you leave Shaq wide open from 3 if you could avoid a 3-point shot from a better shooter? Probably.
- sfcaptainrob, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1But the other shooter was INSIDE the 3 point arc! How could he make a three?? Instead you leave Duncan wide open (yes, I know a terrible three point shooter) who has time to set up, calculate the shot, get his footing, make a sammich, eat the sammich, email his brother, then finally drain the three! Since they were up by 3, would it have killed them to let the other guy INSIDE the three point arc take two and then get the ball back??
- TomK88, on 04/20/2008, -0/+18Would you leave Shaq wide open from 3 if you could avoid a 3-point shot from a better shooter? Probably.
- sfcaptainrob, on 04/20/2008, -7/+2Still, they left him wide open with all the time in the world to set up the shot. Bad move by Phoenix.
- bigervin, on 04/20/2008, -0/+15considering Duncan had not made a 3-pointer all season long until that shot makes YOUR COMMENT completely ridiculous...
- morninglorii, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3My fault. I'm not a huge basketball fan (I like the sport, but I don't follow the players). I know that Duncan is a great player, so I assumed he hit a lot of threes. I guess the "first three of the season" comment in the video went right over my head as well. I apologize.
- TomK88, on 04/20/2008, -1/+10Duncan isn't a 3-point shooter and nobody would have expected him to take that shot.
- threemagic, on 04/20/2008, -15/+2Someone explain why you are up by 3.. there are only 5 guys.. and one guy gets wide open for a 3, especially Tim Duncan.
- rey1867, on 04/20/2008, -1/+22Because Tim Duncan hadn't hit a 3 pointer in 2 years....
- threemagic, on 04/20/2008, -4/+4Doesn't matter.. how do you LEAVE 1 guy open. They need a 3.. you aren't protecting the paint. It's fairly easy to stop someone from shooting a 3 one on one.
- Swarms, on 04/20/2008, -1/+4So why not double team someone who is more likely to take the shot? Tim Duncan doesn't shoot 3's. At 19%, they'd probably rather he takes the shot, either assuming he'd miss, or that it wouldn't be a 3 pointer.
- threemagic, on 04/20/2008, -6/+2Because you shoot 19 percent when you are tim because most of your 3's come as buzzer beaters. Most NBA players shoot 3's in shoot around and unguarded.
- rey1867, on 04/20/2008, -1/+2You're using pretty stupid logic. Why doesn't the US guard against an attack from Canada ? Because you don't expect it. Suns would rather let Duncan shoot a 3 than Ginobli so they picked their own poison.
- threemagic, on 04/20/2008, -2/+1@rey.. that's not what the ***** I mean anyway. There are 5 offensive players and 5 defensive players... there's NO ***** WAY anyone should be open. Let alone Tim Duncan.. a superstar who doesn't choke. Anyway.. you guys can digg up what you want, it just shows your ignorance of the game.
Hey we have 5 guys that have to guard JUST the 3 pt line.. let's let one guy leave tim open.. what's he going to defend.. well let's put him on Manu so he's doubled... why? Where's manu gonna go. - rey1867, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1Obviously you don't watch basketball. The Spurs ran a pick and roll and Shaq didn't switch on the play because Ginobili would have gone for the easy layup. Both Nash and Shaq ended up guarding Ginobili and Duncan was left open.

- funknjunk, on 04/20/2008, -2/+1You obviously do not watch basketball...
- threemagic, on 04/20/2008, -0/+2You obviously do not UNDERSTAND basketball. You are down by 3.. they have 5 guys, you leave NO ONE to shoot a 3. There is something to be said about fouling before they shoot too but you have to deal with the make, miss FT strategy.
- rey1867, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Really stfu, you know nothing about basketball. Just admit it. Most teams don't like to foul in this situation because they'd rather force the other team to make a 3 which in this case was a low percentage shot.

- DasCorCor, on 04/20/2008, -12/+10Someone should post the one clip, where the Spurs center goes to set a pick for the guard, and the guard runs into the guy picking for him, flops, and then gets a foul called on the Suns. That was an awesome play by Duncan and all, but that flopping crap is why I hate the Spurs.
- Danktolker, on 04/20/2008, -3/+8Someone should also post the 2 HUGE flops by Nash in that game. EVERY team in the NBA flops, not just the Spurs.
- hassanchop13, on 04/20/2008, -3/+8someone should post about how every time the suns lose, an army of people, including all the coaches, players, and fans of the suns cry 5 ***** rivers.
- jaydoj, on 04/20/2008, -0/+2As a suns fan, I won't cry 1 river let alone 5. Duncans 3 was CLUTCH and he hit it with ease. The suns leave him open to shoot a 3? I mean cmon, what a horrible display of a lack of communication after a pick!!!! It was a fun game to watch, not too often to teams duke it out as the Spurs and Suns do, its always a good time, and a great way to get out of work for about 20 mins:)
- DougUpndown, on 04/20/2008, -24/+0meh, I'm unimpressed. *bounce* *bounce* *bounce* *pass* *shoot* *score* yay! Team Sports shouldn't finish 100+ vs 100+ points. I don't need to see points being scored every 25 second to hold my attention.
- jabbar, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1its not the fact that so many points are scored, its HOW they are scored. let's see you get on that court and play more than 6 minutes at a time while running, jumping, shooting, getting shoved around, and actually trying to think about how to score, defend, and anticipate their next move. go play some ball before you make an idiotic comment like that.
- DougUpndown, on 04/20/2008, -1/+0defend? seems to me if the other team can still score 100+ points despite all your shovin', sweatin' and defendin' perhaps defending your hoop is, dare I say it, a futile act. Especially when you can bounce the ball straight down to their end and score just as easy as they can.
- laseractive, on 04/20/2008, -9/+18Just one more highlight for the greatest power forward in NBA history.
- j4nj1m3n3z, on 04/20/2008, -5/+8greatest power forward in history? thats a bit of a stretch...
- ScottMitchell, on 04/20/2008, -1/+3I think it's a fair assessment. Who would you put ahead of Duncan? Barkley? Pettit? Malone? McHale?
I like how columnist Bill Simmons decides on "greatest ever" titles. If you had to pick a starting five lineup for a game of pick up basketball and your life depended on the outcome of the game, who would you take? I'd take Duncan in his prime over any other PF in their prime. And, personally, I hope the Spurs lose b/c the Suns style of play is more fun to watch. But you have to respect Duncan for his greatness.- TastyWheat, on 04/20/2008, -0/+4Are you kidding? Tim isn't very flashy but Parker and Ginobili are great. I can't wait to see more of this in the playoffs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdRK5CTEJN0 (Ginobili can even turn invisible!)

- mewwem22, on 04/20/2008, -7/+0If you measure "greatness" by how many championships a player has won, then yes, he is the greatest power forward in NBA history... But if you go by a player's talent and skills, then I think that you'd have to say the "greatest" was either Malone or Barkley.
- mlvassallo, on 04/20/2008, -0/+4Duncan's numbers are far better than Malone or Barkley. Also... number of rings.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_eCOt5TKpI- phantom_mullet, on 04/20/2008, -2/+13I gotta give LeBron the respect he deserves for being a great athlete, but IMHO, he seems like an arrogant prick. I mean, tattooing yourself with "Chosen 1" and calling yourself "King James"? Can you get more cocky than that?
- stormgren, on 04/20/2008, -2/+5no, other people call him king james and the chosen one. He didn't choose those nicknames, and prefers LBJ. And in press conferences, etc, he always emphasizes defense and team effort, not himself and not offense.
- radiopayola, on 04/20/2008, -2/+4well... he *was* chosen to become a larger star at an earlier age than anyone in NBA history. ...AND he's completely lived up to the hype. He's getting a lot of 'overrated' talk this season because his team fell apart after a bad trade, but he can still steal an NBA game whenever he feels healthy if he really wants to. Only a handful of other players in league history can make that claim...and only 1 other player in the league right now can. I'd say his ego is justified. When you watch him talk, he's honest and genuine unlike sugary sweet egomaniaical players like kobe bryant, get-off-my-back players like tim duncan, or goof-ball ali-impersonators like glibert arenas. The only superstar who's as down-to-earth as lebron is KG.
- poptarts, on 04/20/2008, -2/+3I've seen a lot of dunks by lebron "overrated" James.. nothing new to me..
- BTom14, on 04/20/2008, -2/+2ya it was flashy but in the end Lebron's dunk only counted as TWO points.
- ScottMitchell, on 04/20/2008, -0/+5We'll have to see how his body holds up over his career, but I wouldn't be surprised if LeBron ends up being the best "athlete" in the NBA's history. His size, speed, strength, and durability are insanely freakish.
- phantom_mullet, on 04/20/2008, -2/+13I gotta give LeBron the respect he deserves for being a great athlete, but IMHO, he seems like an arrogant prick. I mean, tattooing yourself with "Chosen 1" and calling yourself "King James"? Can you get more cocky than that?
- mdovalina, on 04/20/2008, -7/+12Yup, Spurs are floppers which is why Ginobili didn't draw a single charge the entire game and two Spurs players fouled out.
Tim Duncan = Greatest power forward to ever play in the NBA- radiopayola, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3gotta save it for when you need it dude... series 1 game 1 is not the time or place.
- ShangHaiKid, on 04/20/2008, -3/+1Unfortunately yes it is. The winner of game 1 of the series is the winner of the series 83% of the time.
- ScottMitchell, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3That statistic is not a very pertinent comparison in this series, IMO, b/c it looks at ALL playoff series, many of which have a very clear favorite (who usually wins Game 1 (as well as the majority of the remaining games)). What I'd be more interested in is seeing what the winning percentage is for a series when you have two teams that are fairly equal in ability. I bet it is closer to 60% than 80%.

- jaydoj, on 04/20/2008, -0/+2Premature Congratulations.
- mwmccullough, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1It's only a fact. Timmy is that great. He rolled a twenty before the game. And no damage.
- radiopayola, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3gotta save it for when you need it dude... series 1 game 1 is not the time or place.
- ejayhawk789, on 04/20/2008, -10/+5mario chalmers shot > tim duncan *super* shot
- saady87, on 04/20/2008, -7/+1What the ***** just happend...>.
- boywundah, on 04/20/2008, -7/+3Duncan is so money - both defensively and offensively in the paint, but to hit a three at the buzzer!?! bonkers!
- Phisher34, on 04/20/2008, -2/+9Still one of the greatest buzzer beaters in my memory:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TdZHffwOF8- ScottMitchell, on 04/20/2008, -0/+5That clip is great for several reasons. First, it shows Duncan's amazing 19-foot shot over Shaq to take the lead. Second, it shows how different the NBA is today. The game was 73-72 at the end of regulation! I would be surprised if a single Western Conference game this entire series had a team score less than 90. And finally, and most memorably, Fisher's 0.4 second shot for the win, which sucked the life out of the Spurs for that series. The Lakers had no business winning that series; Fisher's miracle shot propelled them to the Finals (after beating the T'Wolves, which the Spurs would have done, too).
- TdiFFRob6876, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1One great shot deserves another.
- n0t0kayipr0mis3, on 04/20/2008, -3/+22I Think Steve Nash had the best shot of the night to tie it in overtime right before they lost.
I tried searching for a video couldn't find it.- einrobstein, on 04/20/2008, -2/+4That sideways fade-away 3 pointer was magical. Too bad it didn't mean diddly squat in the end.
- HigherLogic, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3Here it is, the #2 play of the day, about 1:45 in. The play before was Duncan's 3-pointer, and the #1 play was Ginobli:

By the way, I thought even this was better than Duncan's 3-point shot:

Great game though, even though the Suns lost. No big deal, they'll win this round :)
- handler, on 04/20/2008, -7/+3Viva Los Spurs!
- phenolholic, on 04/20/2008, -2/+1viva la chalupa
- DIGGINPHYSICS, on 04/20/2008, -5/+8Always hated the spurs, but there are a few I'll always respect. Tim Duncan is at the top of that list.
- futebollounge, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3everybody hates the spurs as a team but likes them as individuals.
- URnotheonly1, on 04/20/2008, -4/+3TIMMY!
- 10pins, on 04/20/2008, -5/+13buried for ruining my afternoon yesterday :(
- computerguydk, on 04/20/2008, -1/+2I feel your pain. I felt sick when I saw the Suns fall yesterday. Hopefully this Tuesday the Suns will tie up the series.
- Sharknife, on 04/20/2008, -4/+17***** you Duncan! You're ruining my life!
- zomgflamer, on 04/20/2008, -4/+4lol...chill out. They out flopped the suns yesterday. Spurs have no chance if shaq and amare is playin more than 30 minutes
- madmonkey300, on 04/20/2008, -2/+2no they does not
- uncommonwords, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2i see what you does there
- madmonkey300, on 04/20/2008, -2/+2no they does not
- hater2win, on 04/20/2008, -3/+3Shaw and amare can't play 30 minutes because they can't guard Duncan and that's why they are always in foul trouble. They hack him and foul them because he is either too big for amare or too fast for shaq.

- wetard57, on 04/20/2008, -7/+2what the hell is clutch other then part of a car?
- MrOstrich, on 04/20/2008, -4/+2That was an incredible shot.
But, buried for poor video quality.- computerguydk, on 04/20/2008, -1/+1No, an incredible shot is Steve Nash making a clutch 3-pointer with 4 seconds left on the clock. The 12/7/2006 Nets vs. Suns game was one of the best basketball games I have ever seen.

- uiguy3, on 04/20/2008, -1/+8In this situation why wouldn't you just foul the other team? They then shoot two free throws and even in the worst case you win by 1.
- commiecat, on 04/20/2008, -0/+5Worst case isn't winning by 1. Worst case would be Spurs hitting the first, missing the second, getting the rebound, then hitting the 3 and you lose by 1.
I give the Suns credit for trying to get a stop, which is what would have happened in almost any other game. I think most NBA coaches would live with Tim Duncan needing to hit a three-pointer to tie the game at the end. More important question would be why they didn't double Ginobili in the second OT with Parker having fouled out. - DasCorCor, on 04/20/2008, -3/+1Because you have shaquille o'neal on your team!
- CedarPark, on 04/21/2008, -0/+0I hear a lot of commentators pleading for coach's to make the play you are talking about, but I have never seen it done. This came up in the NCAA championship as well. Personally, I don't think you put the ball that close to the basket by putting someone on the line. They hit the first, and clang it off the rim as hard as they can to see where the ball flies.
Also, coach's don't want to admit that they won't be able to draw up a defensive play good enough to win the game.

- nollek, on 04/20/2008, -7/+6god i ***** hate the spurs. but that shot was pretty clutch.
- beloitpiper, on 04/20/2008, -6/+2Buried for the word "clutch"
- dwu182, on 04/20/2008, -5/+2why is this on the front page? Any sports fan would have seen this on ESPN
anyhow this is a much better quality clip, a top 10 plays for the nba
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raSBIx3zQLA- HigherLogic, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1Not as good as this: http://www.hulu.com/watch/17572/nba-top-10-april-1 ...
Hulu is much better for NBA, they update it all the time and have legit, quality videos. - jaydoj, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1Why are you bitching about something being on Digg then you post a link to further fuel the fire?
- HigherLogic, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1Not as good as this: http://www.hulu.com/watch/17572/nba-top-10-april-1 ...
- hoovcluck, on 04/20/2008, -3/+8why didn't he use the glass?
- 2NYC3, on 04/20/2008, -7/+10the Suns are still going to win the series
- cgiupload, on 04/21/2008, -0/+0if and only if Shaq is gone.
- fictionalOne, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1They say that every year. Poor Suns fans just keep getting their hope up.
- kolinkoolface2, on 04/20/2008, -1/+8i think the most clutch shot was steve nash's in the corner right at the end of game. Nash is thee clutch player on the NBA.
- CedarPark, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1I don't think it can be a 'clutch' shot unless your team wins the game. Just saying.
- stevenk87, on 04/20/2008, -3/+2It was a really ballsy play to call, but what a great shot.
- ProjectGSX, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1Tim was the 3rd option.. the call wasnt THAT ballsy. The Suns just played great D on the first two options.
- Chrino, on 04/20/2008, -2/+0He didn't bank it?
- instapho, on 04/20/2008, -0/+15Little known fact, Tim Duncan is a nerd! He's an avid D&D and video game player... He wanted to be nick named "The Wizard" but his teammates thought it was too dorky. Dugg for fellow nerd Tim Duncan
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/truehoop/0-24-135/Kindl ...- zzzpoohzzz, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3who doesnt know duncan is a nerd?
you can just tell... have you ever seen an interview with the guy?
the only reason he hardly gets any coverage is because he's a nerd... he's one hell of a player... but hes absolutely boring- jabbar, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1he's a nerd because he went to college and got a bachelor's degree in something other than kinesiology or business administration. if you look at the level of english he uses compared to what amare stoudamire used in the interviews they both gave, you could see a major difference in education and intelligence. amare has a total of 100 words that he can use, most of them involving "one hundred percent" and "we'll see how it goes in the second half".
- ProjectGSX, on 04/20/2008, -0/+4Youd think his geek cred would go further on Digg.
- mwmccullough, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2Go forth and spread the word. WIZARD! (Tim Duncan pops off the side of a van)
- zzzpoohzzz, on 04/20/2008, -0/+3who doesnt know duncan is a nerd?
- zomgflamer, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1Im just surprised Tim Duncan has something in common with Diggers. He plays star craft. tsk tsk.....ohh Timmy you got it all wrong.
- mytibt, on 04/20/2008, -2/+2He should start shooting free throws from the 3 point arc
