Vloggers rolling in dough - as much as 1M per year!
tvweek.com — Ask a Ninja's creators are claiming they make 100,000 per month in ad-revenue. I think it is time to learn some Ninja skills.

- DaleoftheUK, on 12/03/2007, -1/+9My vlogs don't make that much, or anything infact.
- willynilly, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Maybe because there's no such thing as a "vlog".
- lharrod, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Now there is.
- willynilly, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Maybe because there's no such thing as a "vlog".
- decruncher, on 12/03/2007, -9/+33100K a month??
man, just think how much they could make if they were funny - lordtyros, on 12/03/2007, -14/+45That's weird, because Ask a Ninja blows.
- DSGalvin, on 12/04/2007, -0/+8Why do people think it's funny?
- JoshuaH, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6Looking at your icon, I can tell you probably find a lot of things funny that others don't.
- DSGalvin, on 12/04/2007, -0/+8Why do people think it's funny?
- mrjit, on 12/03/2007, -0/+17I don't believe it, sounds like they're trying to stir up a few hits.
- kahlessreborn, on 12/03/2007, -2/+59Please for the love of the internet dont use the words Vlog/Vlogger/Vloogging ever again. Its not a word and its not clever. Just call it a Video Blog, I have accepted the word blog will never go away, but please stop making these other words.
- RealmDown, on 12/03/2007, -6/+5Add "Webinar" to the list of words to be buried.
- KyjL, on 12/03/2007, -0/+7BOMB THE BLOGOSPHERE
- coolian, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1VLOGOSPHERE?
- Billistic, on 12/04/2007, -0/+4MAY I SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR WEBINAR ABOUT THE VLOGOSPHERE?
- coolian, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1VLOGOSPHERE?
- Swarms, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6I remember back when Maddox posted his list of words he hated:
Videoblog: Another idiot who had the bright idea of coining a term for posting a file online, except instead of music, it's crappy home videos.
Vlog: I don't even know if this is being used yet, but I suspect it will be used soon if it hasn't, so preemptive strike, bitches.
Guess that preemptive strike was justified. - elf25, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3why not just use, "show" ? Why does the descriptive word need to describe the transmissive media?
- lharrod, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1I also hate web abbreviations. But if you don't go with them, you will be pwned ftw while your bff roflol until you tell them to stfu.
- TomTruelle, on 12/03/2007, -17/+12Ask A Ninja is ***** awesome
- TBagwell, on 12/04/2007, -3/+5awesome like a papercut
- popfrogs, on 12/04/2007, -2/+4Totally awesome...for me to poop on.
- bimtott, on 12/03/2007, -0/+8Just because there's a bandwagon coming through town doesn't mean there's room on it for just anyone.
Have an original idea and maybe make money. MAYBE. - BlaenkDenum, on 12/03/2007, -0/+3If they truly do make that much money from ad hits then that must mean they get lots of hits in general, which means that a lot of that money goes towards site maintenance and improving servers, etc.

last thing the internet needs is a bunch of ask a ninja wannabe video.
1 is bad enough as it is - provosaint, on 12/03/2007, -3/+0i found a follow up video the reporter did on her website... daisywhitney.tv
it's worth watching - Raugturi, on 12/03/2007, -1/+9Am I the only person bothered by the fact that whoever wrote this article considers $180,000 a "supplement to their day jobs" and $12,000 a year "pocket change"? I think I want a job writing for TV Week.
- SpykerSpeed, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Well, with these iPhone bills the way they are, I'm hoping to make 400,000 out of college. Wish me luck.
- sobo310, on 12/04/2007, -0/+6i always wondered how diggnation and rev3 does
- ares041, on 12/04/2007, -1/+2Ask a ninja is sponsered by Doritoes but the funny thing is I already buy doritoes. I eat them not because of the ads on ask a ninja, I eat em' because they're delicious!
- ngmcs8203, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Isn't it Doritos? I think that Cool Ranch deliciousness is cutting off the circulation the portion of your brain dedicated to brand recognition/spelling.
- Blackforge, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1No! They're Dori's Toes! Now in Foot Fungus Fiesta!
- Blackforge, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1No! They're Dori's Toes! Now in Foot Fungus Fiesta!

- provosaint, on 12/04/2007, -0/+0if i could eat only one food... it would be Doritos...
Does anyone remember Taco Bell flavored Doritos?- willynilly, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Taco Bell? No. When Doritos really took off, in the '80s, there were three flavors: nacho cheese, "taco", and sour cream & onion. The closest thing to sour cream & onion today is Cool Ranch. Taco didn't seem that great at first, but it really had staying power and it grew on you.
- willynilly, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Hey, they brought "taco" flavor back! Kick ass.
- lharrod, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1Doritos used to hold a lot of real estate in my brain when I was younger. I used to LOVE them, especially Cool Ranch. Now, I only eat them when I'm at a party, and there's a bowl of them on the table, and I think, "Hey, these are good. I remember I used to really like these." The same thing happened with Taco Bell, actually.
- 3lijah, on 12/04/2007, -1/+2My www.raidandpillage.com is making $3 a month!
- wellyuk, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2I'll click on a few ads for you
- TomTruelle, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2how nice of you, i think ill do the same.
- wellyuk, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2I'll click on a few ads for you
- ChuckAndBob, on 12/04/2007, -0/+3If that Ask A Ninja dude is making $100K/month, Martin Sargent must be making at least $2/year.
- erkokite, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1I don't know what a vlogger is but I bet it tastes good when rolled in dough.
- willynilly, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2It's when you take a *****-log and roll it up in a velvet sleeve. Voila, vlog!
- lharrod, on 12/04/2007, -0/+2Why is everyone hating on "vlog"? As if other web abbreviations are cooler or make more sense? roflolstfu
- lolo2007, on 03/03/2008, -0/+0Am I the only person bothered by the fact that whoever wrote this article considers $180,000 a "supplement to their day jobs" and $12,000 a year "pocket change"? I think I want a job writing for TV Week.
