      Having spent much of my adult life intimately associated with lesbians, I will call BS on your claim. A VERY high percentage of "lesbians" are bi-sexual. When they are out in public, say a group gathering like a BCA women's pool league, they are "100% lesbian". Privately, a very high percentage play both sides of the fence. Bring it up, and you ain't getting any. Be discreet, and you can find your way into "their" world.

      I had a 6 year relationship with a woman who was, to many of her friends, full on lesbian. It was a very enlightening experience. She was a very popular member of the "community". I learned a LOT about said community over those years. Most men are too busy proving how manly they are to ever get into that world.

      I live very near to a suburb which is where all of the lesbians of Sydney congregate. Having observed many, many lesbian couples, I have concluded that the reason that guys get excited about lesbians is because they do not know that, with very few exceptions, real lesbians are:

      a)Overweight;
      b)Have the facial and body structure of men;
      c)Have buzzcuts or crewcuts;
      d)Have a proclivity to wear overalls*; and
      e)Generally otherwise attempt to make themselves as manly and ugly as is humanly possible.

      If I were a lesbian, I would try and be a lesbian like Portia de Rossi. I don't understand why it is that actual lesbians seem so intent on what appears to be a perverse rebellion against all that is attractive and feminine. Why not follow the gay trend to want to look as good as possible? Either way, the point is that no one gives a ***** what real lesbians think of men, because no man in his right mind would want to have sex with one.

      * This is not a joke. I was sitting in a cafe one day when nine - NINE - came in dressed in overalls and having exactly those attributes of the list. I could not believe my eyes.

      Actually most guys are masculine. I think his point is that almost every woman on this list is very feminine while there are many lesbians out there who are "butch." I think that is an interesting observation. You would think that some lesbians would be more attracted to butch-types like women are attracted to masculine men.

      There are also several people on there from "the L Word", presumably due to people's inability to distinguish reality from TV. Kind of like how women like Tom Cruise due to his roles in movies and not necessarily because he is Tom Cruise.
    • Jelfish, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9The problem is that the ones people most easily see, and therefore conclude, as lesbians are the ones who fit the stereotype. Similarly, gay men are assumed to be usually effeminate because those are the ones we can see and categorize.

      Another observation is that femininity is often measured by physical attractiveness/submissiveness, where as masculinity is often measured by power/attitude/dominance (not usually physical attractiveness). If a lesbian woman feels that her gender is more masculine, perhaps she would prefer to be noted for her power/attitude/dominance rather than physical attractiveness, just like most masculine men.

    I don't know where your from, but you must not have extensive experience with Lesbians. We look all sorts of ways and we certainly can't all look the same way. Dressing or looking feminine doesn't make us woman, the vagina and hormones do. So why is it that we should try to look more like them, aka, feminine? There is a huge mix of how we "look". Some of us do fashion ourselves with a masculine undertone, and some of us are attracted to that. Others, are not, and we like the feminine look. Its just attraction - same thing with the straights. Lumping everything together the way your both doing it, is obtuse. You shouldn't speak on what you don't have knowledge of.
