Kanye West Screenshots My Digg Sumbmission in His Blog

kanyeuniversecity.com — Kanye West took a screenshot of my Digg submissio...and judging from how angry he is, it looks like he took the time to read the Digg comments. The funniest thing about this is this submission screenshot was a parody video about what happened backstage. The day before I broke the actual story on Digg.

      As an audio engineer / songwriter / musician / and (sort of) producer, i'm totally appalled that this guy has gone anywhere near a Macbook Air. He doesn't deserve to be considered a famous 'producer' (in the rap world, apparently this word means song(beat)writer / amateur audio engineer) if he uses a computer that is only SLIGHTLY more stylish than the most powerful 15" Macbook pro, (which in the audio industry is widely considered the single best commercial laptop you can get) then he is just a ***** idiot. if he doesn't need a powerful computer around him to get some work done / write music at any time, any place, then why the ***** does he need a computer? oh, i guess he's still too old school when it comes too music production.

      ***SKIP THIS PART IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE READING MUCH***

      I'm someone who is begging Apple to streamline the ***** Mac Touch (tablet) already so I can work 1000 (+ a billion ^ power of the sun / moon) times faster. (imagine recording midi on a touch piano [somehow adding haptic censors to simlulate piano keystrokes would make it ultra pimp gangsta yo], zooming in and out of a wave form in 0 seconds, cut and paste, using a virtual console.. turntables.. the list is endless and has no bounds. this goes for the entire entertainment industry. think touch photoshop, touch video editing.. oh and all you form factor / practicality naysayers, they can easily design the perfect kickstand or lap-rest for your tablet. stop being lazy and realize that your arm getting tired is exercise.. ***** healthy.

      The point being, if Apple releases that, just like the ***** iPhone, every company will try to make a 'Mac Touch killer' and then we get a booming market with huge demand for multitouch innovation and hardware / software upgrades. I consider that to be almost as big a deal as the synthesizer was for music (most notably in the 80's) since its creation. STOP CARING ABOUT SUSTAINING PROFIT APPLE AND TAKE IT OUT OF THE ***** LABS!!! ugh.

      I apologize for the rant. You can imagine what it's like to be tortured with the prospect of 10 finger 'chord' gestures being patented by Apple, without any follow-through. I'm just sick of waiting. It's been years since the rumors started, yea, I'm still young (20) and have time. But why buy a Jazz Mutant Lemur when you can have a computer that is more capable run the equivilent and more, and Mac OSX, or Windows? Apple is pretty dumb also, considering they own Logic, one of the best audio editing / music production programs, better than Protools, and on par with Cubase/Nuendo.. the second they make a touch version of Logic, they own an entire market of touch software. Of course, this means they have to sell a ton of Mac Touch's first, but still. Cubase/Nuendo will have to catch up, and they will be forced to wait for an SDK for that. You like money don't you Apple, CAN'T YOU SEE YOU'RE MISSING OUT? I have never heard of the withholding of technology doing anything but hinder the industries and societies they affect. Not to mention, it's not just Logic apple owns, they have Aperture, and iMovie, and i'm sure many others. Touch exclusive software = monopoly money, pun intended. (note: i don't condone an apple software monopoly.. but i will endure anything it takes to get my ***** tablet sooner. i need my 10 finger gestured shiny piece of crack with an apple on it)

Mac Book Air has no optical drive.. either you steal (wav/aif/flac/320 mp3 quality) music, or you DL the ***** quality 128 kbps AAC or w.e they offer on iTunes for ridiculous amounts of money. Tell me Kanye, if that is your real name, which is it..? Are you the savvy 'pirate' audiophile, (like me, minus the -phile sorta, I'm not a total audio douche) or the rich, 'I can afford the $32,000~ it costs to fill up my golden / platinum 160GB bIing-iPod' lo-tech legit prick?

The gist of it was that with piracy running rampant, artists need to give people a reason to go see a show on tour to make it financially viable. A light show with a story behind it is just one idea, and it is actually working/profitable. This is going against all other hip-hop/rap concerts which normally are lackluster and aren't nearly as financially successful as, lets say, a rock concert. I give him props for actually doing something interesting and not just getting on stage, acting like a pimp and then doing 10 songs.

      It all boils down to his "people" not having their ***** together. Nothing goes 100% according to plan - there are always hiccups and delays. But ***** deal with it or at least provide an explanation to everyone you're pissing off instead of just hiding backstage fuming.

      At some point you need to step in, make an executive decision, and say "***** the special effects, ***** the waiting, I'm starting this show now."

      And then he turns around and whines like a bitch, waiting for everyone to console him and assure him that nothing's his fault and that fans are just overreacting. ***** lame.

Pretty much he said the previous band was late, they tried to set up his show, since they said that pyro would take an extra 45 minuites he said screw that and went on stage to perform. By that time people threw ***** on the stage and there was liquid towards the front of his stage. And that had him alter his show.

          Simply put he tried to put on a light show (something I would like to see) and so he had to work around hours in which the sun wasn't out. they had to set up the show but impatient people were being ignorant and started throwing stuff on stage.

          I hope he has learned a lesson. Perform at places in which you have greater control over. He cant change the ignorant hate train but he can give them less of a reason to talk trash.

          And what "greater control" could he have had? Like I said, his preparation "people" were obviously lazy and/or incompetent if they didn't realize that the stage wouldn't fit or that it would take twice as long to set up as anticipated. These people are supposed to set these shows up for a living. It may not be Kanye's fault directly, but can anyone be surprised that fans at a rock concert get crazy when they're left without performers for more than an hour?

      Anyway, the Japanese rappers are rapping about their love for hip-hop, even though it's changed into this paper chase type of deal over the years and it's lost its roots. The lyrics are actually pretty cool, as it's all talking as if hip-hop was a girl and they reminisce about all the good times they had with "her."

      Then Kanye's verse comes up, and he raps about how he has to make sure to not leave his ***** unattended because "other ***** will try to steal his beats" and how "he's the new high ya'll want your weed back."

      Totally self-centered verse that really ruins the song for me... *sigh*

I kind of wish I could have seen the show, it would be interesting to see what kind of stuff he had set up for the show. I honestly think that he's got some valid points, but maybe it fell on the promoters. Then again, Bonaroo hasn't been the best with people being on time, sets running as long as they are supposed to, and most important crowd control.

      Any fan who throws ***** on stage deserves a good beatdown. I don't give a ***** who you are trying to see, yes even Guns N Roses applies. They are people too, and you have to respect that they are willing to get up there, and in addition to having to put up with ***** from labels, promoters, time slots, overzealous fans, groupie drama, and everything else in between. Look at someone like Dimebag (rest his soul), the guy got SHOT on stage. I'm not saying everyone's a psycho, but if a stage gets water on it, it is a safety hazard, especially a stage with a bunch of intelligent lights which pull a ***** of electricity.

      Not a Kanye fan, but wished things had gone better.

If I was him, given the crazy amount of money I get from everything, I would probably give the Bonnaroo fans another show or worked with the organizers to refund some of their money. I mean, leaving the audience in the dark (literally) is kind of asking for protest.

      I agree with you though, it's not a huge thing and people tend to latch onto this one situation and exaggerate it to the point where they feel like Kanye personally insulted them. It also doesn't help that Kanye is a whiny, arrogant, pompous narcissist. Kanye's show is also pretty highly rated around the country. A bunch of my friends went and said it was spectacular and definitely over the top. So he does work hard for his fans, no doubt. Sucks for him that this happened.

      What a whiny bitch, he did nothing when at 3:00 am while his stage hands were slowly moving things around and the crowd was chanting a booing for Kanye to appear and explain. ***** him.

      EDIT, also, Bonnaroo is one of the tightest festivals I've been to ever, all the acts appear at scheduled times and the groundskeeping crew does a phenomenal job keeping things clean. I highly doubt they're as discoordinated as Kanye is trying to imply.
