The Most Ridiculous Celebrity Cameos in Japanese Ads (videos)
celebrity-top.blogspot.com — Here are three of these embarrassingly bizarre commercials, along with our guess as to how the Japanese director might have pitched it to the American actor. Personally, I like no.3, Arnie, he looks very funny.

I live in Tokyo and I see so many lame commercials on tv/in the city every day. Lately the ones I see the most are Tommy Lee Jones who makes this really gaunt looking face for a coffee company, and the other that I see a lot of is Cameron Diaz for a Yahoo subsidiary, Softbank.

- kashem, on 10/13/2007, -0/+2That's Japan for you. These actors wouldn't be caught dead doing this stateside, but money has been good to them and so they return every year for the past several decades to do these commercials.
Plus, I'm sure they feel more like a celebrity there anyway when thousands of people clamor and scream so loud and high that they start crying and passing out just because they saw you for a half second. God forbid they get eye contact, or even touch you... that might make their heart explode.
I took some friends over one time and they saw a commercial and said to one another that they just saw the most amazing George Clooney lookalike doing a commercial. I had to explain to them that it was him... and how often they do commercials there.

Japanese guy asks him a questions, and due to Arnies poor language skills, runs to the side drinks this drink he has hidden in his jacket, and some sort of explosion of Mahjong (or maybe popcorn) pieces seems to erupt onto the table. Say whaaaaat?
