Hello, I'm Wolf Blitzer and you're in the SituAHHHHH HE'S GOT A HAMMER!- JeremyTTU, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1Forget a hammer.... how about a 5 year old vs a 32" LCD screen? $1,200 down the drain just because he couldn't turn his car around in Burnout. Controller thrown at TV...
I still have the damn thing in the closet. I can't throw it away! Somehow, I just think one day it is just going to be magically fixed by the LCD fairy.
On the other hand, since you *really* can't tell its broken from the front, perhaps I should put it outside and just watch all the people stop and look at it. And if I REALLY want to have some fun, I should glue it to the sidewalk (like the quarters in Empire Records!!!)

- paperfrog, on 02/18/2008, -0/+45TV? Is that like a computer without a keyboard?
- VenDrake, on 02/18/2008, -0/+7Most of them come with a wireless 10-key.
- xauckyite, on 02/18/2008, -2/+4good one, enjoyed it ... eh!
- plasma25, on 02/18/2008, -0/+3glad you enjoyed it, my fav clip was actually the very first one in the post- having done the same to a previous tv.
- jollyholly, on 02/18/2008, -1/+14In addition to pure destruction, you could always turn it into an aquarium or something.. :)
- ToeCracker, on 02/18/2008, -0/+7Yes, aquariums look very cool out of old TV's. Great list as well.
- OgniAsuob, on 02/18/2008, -1/+10I miss the coke'd up spandex wearing rock star, throwing a telly out of a hotel window while getting a blow job by a prostitute. What happened to Rock&Roll??
- krnldmp, on 02/18/2008, -0/+2Evidently you never knew enough about it to miss it.
- OgniAsuob, on 02/19/2008, -0/+1..that was sarcasm, brain-bug
- krnldmp, on 02/18/2008, -0/+2Evidently you never knew enough about it to miss it.
- plinky, on 02/18/2008, -3/+20Surely these TVs could be recycled. Nah, where's the fun in that!
- andyboyd, on 02/18/2008, -3/+4Take it to your local recycling center or blow it up? I know what I'd choose. ;)
- SSUK, on 02/18/2008, -1/+2You wouldn't do either.
- Culero, on 02/18/2008, -0/+2I think you can..
and don't call me Surely.

- danceparty, on 02/18/2008, -4/+28you're a hick, not a geek. recycle that *****, dumbass.
- michaelb1, on 02/18/2008, -4/+3Thanks for saying what I was thinking.
- 22magnum, on 02/18/2008, -3/+1way to stereotype.
- OGla, on 02/18/2008, -1/+3Here is some other ways... youtube.com joost.com getmiro.com dayrobber.com etc... watch video online.
- TokenWhiteGuy, on 02/18/2008, -0/+14How about selling the damn thing?
- antdude, on 02/19/2008, -1/+1Even if it is broken?
- DeFex, on 02/18/2008, -0/+5that guys voice in the forklift one sounded at least as smart as cleetus.
- Xencer, on 02/18/2008, -2/+6what about all of that shattered glass and the electronically charged capacitor, im sure nature has some use for it laying about in the street and such
- sponeil, on 02/18/2008, -5/+4Hopefully the only people to get sick from the lead and mercury these CRT's give off will be the people doing these stunts. Somehow I doubt it.
- Zandarrr, on 02/18/2008, -2/+5Recycle your tv! Better yet, don't replace it unless you actually need to.
- EmitStop, on 02/18/2008, -0/+3Inaccurate. The first two are the same method.
- aaapples, on 02/18/2008, -2/+10Give it to someone less fortunate than yourself or sell it to someone who doesn't see the need for an impractically flat shiney new television.
No? Ok have fun being retarded then! - rheaume, on 02/18/2008, -1/+2Good ideas here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duAUsav7o5c
- mal1964, on 02/18/2008, -1/+7You guys need to think ahead, if you trash your old one, What ya going to use to put the new one on top of?
- Jeffler, on 02/18/2008, -1/+4If it still outputted video I'd put it outside my house and make it rick roll people on the street.
- Harelin, on 02/18/2008, -3/+5If I didn't know better, I'd say some of these scenes were taken straight out of Idiocracy. "And now, for the sequel to 'Ow, My Balls!'.. we bring you 25 ways to trash your old 55" LCD HDTV..."
- ddiggs, on 02/18/2008, -1/+4A decade or two from now, some of these people will be kicking themselves when they see their model TV selling on eBay for $10,000 as a collectible.
- jtizzle, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1Of course, $10,000 will be the equivalent of five bucks in a decade or two...
- blixblixen, on 02/18/2008, -1/+2i blacked out the picture tube except for a perfect circle, tuned it to "noise" and put it by a widow facing out. at nite when the tv is on it looks the the full moon is trapped in my house. props to the late master of old tvs, nam jun paik for the inspiration
- lingum, on 02/18/2008, -5/+5Recycling is for queers. Destroy it and put it in a landfill where it belongs. Better yet break the tube and hide the glass shards in the sandbox of a public park.
- jtizzle, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1tmmloi
- stevers, on 02/18/2008, -1/+5So while all these look fun, please remember that..
TVs, CRTs etc have some nasty stuff in them. Dropping it off a bridge will let the mercury seep into the ground water.
While these may be fun to watch, what you should do is take your TV to a technology recycling center. - SPThom, on 02/18/2008, -3/+5"Now you could just donate your old TV to charity, recycle it, or sell it (even though it’s probably worthless) – but what fun is that?"
I'm sorry, isn't the fact that you're indulging yourself with a brand new, ridiculously large 60" flat screen FUN enough? You need to have more fun than that? What, did you get beat up by your old TV as a kid or something?
I can't believe people are so selfish and wasteful that, rather than sell or give an old TV to someone who might *want* it or (to whatever extent possible for a television) need it, they'd prefer to blow it up or run it over or find some other creative means for destruction. I weep for the future. - kalleanka, on 02/18/2008, -2/+3To me that was a list with 25 most stupid ways to scratch ones truck.
- sphigel, on 02/18/2008, -1/+1Number 19 was the best. mostly because it wasn't intentional.
- groovytrance, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1You mean, because it was?
- TridenTBoy, on 02/18/2008, -1/+3No FPS Doug TV destruction? I have to say, that was one of the best ways.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q6sh2v2XiRA - zjvos, on 02/18/2008, -1/+1If 25 wasn't enough for you, here is something my friends and I did for our old internet show way back in the day...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW4fJpsbtJM - flyneye, on 02/18/2008, -1/+1Old T.V.s are fun to screw with. If the picture "ain't" what it used to be get out the old video camera and feed a picture to the old tube of the camera watching the tube.(aim the cam at the t.v.,Homer) With the camera aimed directly at the tube slowly rotate the camera close to 130 degrees on its side.See some infinity at play? Slight jiggles and angular changes produce new effects. Now try starting off in a dark room and start the "video feedback" with a flashlight or candle.Got a remote that accesses the color hue and brightness?Get psychedelic! Got various magnets hanging around? put them near the screen for even more fun.
Before the advent of affordable home computers we used these methods to make freaky music videos.Kinda like a remote control interactive screensaver tracked with Throbbing Gristle,Einsturzende Neubauten or NoN.
When you get bored of this, then go put a ball bearing through the screen with a slingshot(word of caution, tubes contain phosphors that you don't wanna breath or touch in a real bad way! - vornan19, on 02/18/2008, -1/+1To quote a John Prine song:
Blow up you TV
Throw away your paper
Move to the country
and build you a home
plant a little garden
eat a lot of peaches
try and find jesus
on your own. - iancorey, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1Not even: http://redstarkgb.com/clippo/mentos.shtml
- CosmicSprawl, on 02/18/2008, -0/+0I love what G4 is doing by using the old tubes for props on sets!!!

Yes, aquariums look very cool out of old TV's. Great list as well. - profboobs, on 02/18/2008, -0/+0Damaging old CRTs can actually be very dangerous. Please be careful.
http://www.tpub.com/content/neets/14178/css/14178_ ... - widebhoy, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1Why do people put so many videos on one page, Im sure i cant be the only one who's browser is freezing up on such big pages, or is it just me?
- spacefaced, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1My Firefox was using 55% of my CPU, even when not viewing any of the videos. And that is after the page loaded fully. I waited several minutes, and it was still using 55%. Also I could not change to any of my other open tabs. So I opened a new (blank) tab and changed to that, and waited, and my CPU was still 55% used!
After closing the tab with this page on it, Firefox went back to 1% of CPU.

- nenee, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1Oh my eyes! My eyes....They are smashing those Tv's...
It's Madness, I say, For the love of God...It's Madness - RevToTheRedline, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1That was some good viewing pleasure.
- plasma25, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1glad you enjoyed it
- chambrot, on 02/18/2008, -0/+1Does anyone know of a way to ruin a TV without any damage to the actual appearance to the outside of the TV. Damage it so that it will no longer turn on, or to the point that its unwatchable…i figure hijacking the TV is a good way to justify getting a new Plasma. Anyone have any ideas?
- YoctoYotta, on 02/18/2008, -0/+2AKA, 25 ways to poison the environment.
- SA007, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1LOL..Nice..I am gonna kill my old tv :D.
