- orlando37, on 03/06/2008, -6/+279The title of this digg sounds like a bad party game.
- surian, on 03/06/2008, -0/+73it's a trick! They're ALL Robert Downey Jr!
- burnin8r28, on 03/06/2008, -4/+1trick answer. by saying their not robert downey jr i meant they were.
- hpfreak26, on 03/06/2008, -0/+1Actually...NO!
- precision256, on 03/07/2008, -0/+3It's a TRAP!
- expert01, on 03/07/2008, -2/+1I remembered hearing the name "Robert Downey Jr.", but I couldn't remember a face. So I googled him (got to IMDB), and I've never seen his ***** face before. SO I go to see what movies I've seen with him, and I've seen maybe two or three on that long list, and he wasn't the main actor in any of them.
Why is this guy famous, and who gives a rats ass?- patik, on 03/07/2008, -0/+1He's had problems with alcohol and drugs (and prostitutes?) so he's shown up in tabloids a lot, but that was mainly in the 90s. But he has been in some good movies as well.
- MikeOSX, on 03/10/2008, -0/+1he's the ***** Iron Man!
- burnin8r28, on 03/06/2008, -4/+1trick answer. by saying their not robert downey jr i meant they were.
- SuperWinner, on 03/06/2008, -1/+12I can't wait to hear Downey speakin jive.
- sanman, on 03/06/2008, -0/+2he'll have to take lessons from Terrence Howard on that
- rgodfrey, on 03/07/2008, -1/+2In the late 1960s, Robert Downey Sr. (i.e., Jr.'s dad) made Putney Swope, a flawed but seriously envelope-pushing comedy about a radical black power activist who takes over a white-dominated ad agency. It sort of makes sense that Jr. would want to try his hand a a similarly nervy project about race. The Ben Stiller involvement makes this less interesting, since he has been decidedly un-edgy since 1998.
- ComstockGordon, on 03/07/2008, -0/+5Excuse me stewardess, I speak jive.
- EGOvoruhk, on 03/06/2008, -1/+36It also sounds like he's trying way too hard to be politically correct. What's so wrong with just saying "Bet you can't guess who this black guy is"?
- ByteGuerilla, on 03/06/2008, -0/+11That would also be much clearer as to the challenge. Before I read your post, my answer was "the guy in the middle..."
- subliminalurge, on 03/06/2008, -0/+16Actually, I was going to guess that the "African American" was the white guy in the back. Born in South Africa and emigrated to the US. Figured the black guy was from somewhere besides Africa.
Maybe I'm just too on guard for trick questions.- FatLoser, on 03/07/2008, -7/+2Are you telling me that Charlize Theron is a n****r? You racist son of a bitch.
- HolyMan28, on 03/07/2008, -1/+3How about a.. "Yo man, who da ***** be?"
- asus2000, on 06/30/2008, -1/+24How can somebody be born on two continents?
- insllvn, on 03/06/2008, -0/+21Through the magic of over compensation for past mistakes.
- subliminalurge, on 03/06/2008, -0/+23Reminds me of the time during the Olympics when I actually heard an announcer use the phrase "the African American runner from Jamaica". Which ***** part of Jamaica lies in either Africa or America?
- amoirae, on 03/07/2008, -0/+3How else do you explain Sally Struthers?
- NickHodges, on 03/06/2008, -3/+7What race are you if you are from Sub-Saharan Africa? You aren't African-American......
Call me puzzled.- artofwar420, on 03/06/2008, -4/+15You're part of the human race.
- subliminalurge, on 03/06/2008, -1/+5Actually, the word human describes your species, not race. Race is a subset of the species.
- artofwar420, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1Race is a word created by humans for humans. So you're saying if I'm anglo-saxon, I'm a sub species of the total human species?
- atdigg, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1 No, it's not only for humans. Have you ever heard of race of dogs?
- artofwar420, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1It's not really race it's breed.
- subliminalurge, on 03/06/2008, -1/+5Actually, the word human describes your species, not race. Race is a subset of the species.
- diggimator, on 03/07/2008, -0/+3Which reminds me of this: http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=649901
"So, Kriss, what does this mean to you as an African-American?"
"I'm not American, I'm British"
"Yes, but as a British African-American ..."
"I'm not African. I'm not American. I'm British."
- artofwar420, on 03/06/2008, -4/+15You're part of the human race.
- Rekzai, on 03/06/2008, -2/+6I thought digg was turning into 4chan and I was gonna ***** brix
- diversionmary, on 03/06/2008, -1/+4Is it Woll Smoth?
- mistergoomba, on 03/06/2008, -0/+16um, the one in the middle...
- raynar, on 03/06/2008, -3/+11the one with the plasma tv strapped to his back.
- burnin8r28, on 03/06/2008, -1/+2maybe theres more to life than just looking reely reely good...
- whataboutdave, on 03/06/2008, -1/+1The title is a reference to the 25th Infantry Division.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/25th_Infantry_Divisio ... - timlopez, on 03/06/2008, -0/+4If I had to guess, I'd say the black one...
- surian, on 03/06/2008, -0/+73it's a trick! They're ALL Robert Downey Jr!
- sweetblondie, on 03/06/2008, -33/+4lol
- JazD, on 03/06/2008, -45/+7Barak Obama? No seriously, I didn't expect that guy. By the way, you were dugg.
- sanman, on 03/06/2008, -3/+1Nah, RDJ is too short to play Barack Obama
I guess they'll have to pick Tom Cruise or Nicholas Cage
- sanman, on 03/06/2008, -3/+1Nah, RDJ is too short to play Barack Obama
- Annt, on 03/06/2008, -15/+3Omg! just the cast makes me want to see it and holly hell did RDJ pull off a black man!
- Nicksname1, on 03/06/2008, -0/+4FTA: "So he decided to dye his skin…." WTF!?!
- luciferin, on 03/06/2008, -0/+5You kind of took that out of context. The roll is an actor who decided to dye his skin to play a black man. It's SLIGHTLY more tasteful.
- amoirae, on 03/07/2008, -0/+2Pull off or out of? He did do a lot of prep work for his scenes with James Spader in Less Than Zero.
- Nicksname1, on 03/06/2008, -0/+4FTA: "So he decided to dye his skin…." WTF!?!
- Yardboss2, on 03/06/2008, -2/+72I'm about to nerd out, but black Iron Man = War Machine?
- Zalyster, on 03/06/2008, -18/+7black Iron Man = Iron Man plays Basketball, that's all this is.
- j0nnyDiGITAL, on 03/06/2008, -2/+7Way to stereotype black people Zalyster.
- thanakar, on 03/06/2008, -11/+5It is not a stereotype when it is true.
- ZenMojo, on 03/06/2008, -1/+13I'll have you know black Iron Man sucks at basketball. He prefers soccer. (The repulsor rays make him a master at goaltending but ***** from the top of the key.)
- Naturalistic, on 03/06/2008, -0/+9just like how you wear a sweater vest and listen to Michael Bolton you poon.
- Netrilix, on 03/06/2008, -1/+4I do, I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman".

- JettaMan, on 03/06/2008, -6/+2I think this is probably the character that was going to be played by Luke Wilson before his suicide attempt.
- giveer, on 03/06/2008, -0/+9I'm assuming by Luke, you mean Owen.
- Zalyster, on 03/06/2008, -18/+7black Iron Man = Iron Man plays Basketball, that's all this is.
- gulpy, on 03/06/2008, -5/+24Hmmmmmm... I'm going to have to guess the one on the end. Am I right?
- Frnnkdlxx, on 03/06/2008, -2/+1Ass
- LiquidIse, on 03/06/2008, -3/+146I know the answer, but I don't think I should say it...
- surian, on 03/06/2008, -46/+2hmmm... semi-appropriate southpark reference on digg? I think you will be dugg up for this.
- Kakemonster, on 03/06/2008, -3/+26hmmm... explaining the last comment which everyone gets? I think you will be dugg down for this.
PS: I know what I just did:P- kevlarbaboon, on 03/06/2008, -1/+12You seen what you did there.
- Hoogs, on 03/06/2008, -1/+1I didn't get it :(
- KrayzieKyd, on 03/06/2008, -5/+2Digg it up? Digg it down? You either digg it or bury it. Those are the options you have, use them.
- DrywallThief, on 03/06/2008, -0/+11You forgot option 3: don't do anything. Sometimes I'm way to lazy to move my mouse all the way over to digg or bury.
- PaperMonkey, on 03/06/2008, -3/+1How are we going to get out..? We'll dig our way out!
No no no... dig _Up_ stupid. - darlingt, on 03/07/2008, -0/+1Or, if it were Slashdot, you'd have missing options.
- manicmailman, on 03/06/2008, -1/+0i dont know why your getting dugg down.... judging by the below comments not everyone got it...
- Kakemonster, on 03/06/2008, -3/+26hmmm... explaining the last comment which everyone gets? I think you will be dugg down for this.
- RaiderWolf, on 03/06/2008, -7/+2I won't say it either but if you get curious...
http://digg.com/movies/Robert_Downey_Jr_to_Play_Bl ...- Dmao, on 03/06/2008, -0/+3Umm...you just said it.
The name is right there in the link you gave.

- Iconoclast25, on 03/06/2008, -1/+5Looks more in character than Jolson, anyway.
- muffinmonk, on 03/06/2008, -0/+1He looks like a natural black dude, and that freaks me out.
- iidestined, on 03/06/2008, -4/+24This picture was just on the front page...
- typicalusername, on 03/06/2008, -27/+3Wait!? I can dye my skin to be a black man!? Holy *****! Chicks dig black guys, what body shop can I go to get this done!?
- Conwaysb0718, on 03/06/2008, -2/+15It appears you need some self esteem work done first...
- typicalusername, on 03/06/2008, -10/+3Oh, I've got self-esteem in droves, but it's always good to put a new paint job on the ride every once and a while!
- amoirae, on 03/07/2008, -0/+1Even a broken down ride like yours?
- typicalusername, on 03/06/2008, -10/+3Oh, I've got self-esteem in droves, but it's always good to put a new paint job on the ride every once and a while!
- SuperWinner, on 03/06/2008, -3/+17wont work, you'll still have a mini-*****
- chenjudy64, on 03/06/2008, -9/+6You should read some of those "urban myth" posts that keep appearing on digg.
- mtrip, on 03/06/2008, -0/+10Keep telling yourself that chen
- chenjudy64, on 03/06/2008, -1/+4Hey, I'm a chick. You think I don't know?
- makkaveli19, on 03/06/2008, -0/+2OOOOOH snap!

- typicalusername, on 03/06/2008, -6/+5Like a baby holding an apple, my friend!
- heinousjay, on 03/06/2008, -0/+4Nothing demonstrates buckets of self-esteem like bragging about the size of your ***** on the Internet.
- amoirae, on 03/07/2008, -0/+3What he meant to say was "a Barbie arm holding a wilted cherry tomato".
- chenjudy64, on 03/06/2008, -9/+6You should read some of those "urban myth" posts that keep appearing on digg.

- garfonzo, on 03/06/2008, -6/+225I believe this week's politically correct term is "Black" not African American...
:-/- master_of_fm, on 03/06/2008, -2/+80http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=yo ...
- gak001, on 03/06/2008, -3/+12Didn't even have to read it - I saw from the link that it deserved a digg.
- muffinmonk, on 03/06/2008, -0/+1Seconded.
- GeorgeStone2, on 03/06/2008, -4/+17I call black people black because they are.
- DeadElephant, on 03/06/2008, -1/+20Aren't they brown?
- BTConan, on 03/07/2008, -0/+1It ain't easy being brown.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/06/2008, -14/+7I call black people /people/. I don't call a white person a /white/ person, why would I need to make the distinction? People are people are people, grow the ***** out of your pull ups.
- jhuebel, on 03/06/2008, -2/+20I refer to a person's race as a physical trait all the time. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as your aren't discriminating against them based on that physical trait.
- ImOscar, on 03/06/2008, -1/+22Sometimes it makes sense. It's not a label we should be afraid of. Example:
"Hey did you meet Mike over there?" (pointing at two men)
"No, which one is he?"
"The black guy."
Much the same as hey, did you meet Pat. Which one is that? The woman.
It's OK to describe people. - digggggggggg, on 03/06/2008, -1/+10Okay then. We'll all just start pretending that race does not exist. Way to make the world an oversensitive and uncomfortable place.
- enicholas, on 03/06/2008, -1/+7I refer to people as "black" and "white" for the same reason that I refer to people as "tall", "short", "blonde" and "brunette". It's an obvious physical trait which makes it easier to identify the person about whom you are speaking.
Why is "Julie... you know, the dark haired girl" any more offensive than "Julie... you know, the black girl"? What exactly is different about those two sentences, other than that in one case I'm referring to hair color and in the other case I'm referring to skin color? - GeorgeStone2, on 03/06/2008, -6/+3bbardlbradd's answer was the typical fart sniffing comment I have come to expect from a Digg user.
The comments after it restored my faith in Digg.- bbardlbradd, on 03/07/2008, -3/+1HA! HA!
Yes, that's me isn't it. If I am the fart-sniffer, then that makes you? All you had to say is that I sniff farts, when clearly you are the only one out of this whole thread that is being a self-righteous troll.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/07/2008, -3/+1HA! HA!
- ArchangelZLT, on 03/07/2008, -1/+1@jhuebel: Mistakenly dugg your post down. I apologize.
- jhuebel, on 03/07/2008, -0/+1No prob, it happens.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/07/2008, -1/+1I was talking specifically about black people, not people in general. If it were used to describe a person, it's perfectly acceptable and understand this just as well as describing someone as tall or fat.
- DeadElephant, on 03/06/2008, -1/+20Aren't they brown?
- d03boy, on 03/06/2008, -8/+18African American woudl imply this person has actually been to Africa
- UTKEngineer, on 03/06/2008, -3/+21No, African American would imply that person was BORN in Africa. Vacation doesn't count.
- Malachai, on 03/06/2008, -6/+1Um, excuse me, but African American would imply that the person is black.
- giveer, on 03/06/2008, -4/+1Are you stunted? African American implies that they are not only black but -get this-... regardless of origin: Currently American. See that word on the end there? Yeah, it says "American". What about a black guy from Cuba? Or Jamaica? Or anywhere else? They're not African American. But somehow - presumably by fancy magic tricks, they're still black! *Shock!* Clues are being handed out for free after class, don't forget to get one.
- heinousjay, on 03/06/2008, -1/+1Only if you subscribe to political correctness gone wild.
- vinnythekidd, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1What about white South Africans? If they moved here, they'd be African Americans as well. Black is considered politically correct now.
- Malachai, on 03/06/2008, -6/+1Um, excuse me, but African American would imply that the person is black.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/06/2008, -2/+2I think it implies that his genes came from Africa and was either exported to America, or also has some American genetics as well, which basically would be Native American because there's no other definitive or authentic "American" gene.
African English/American? - VinceNoir, on 03/06/2008, -2/+2For the clue impaired, the following is called a scathing parody:
Not true. What about people with an Italian heritage? They're Italian-American. What about people with a Geman heritage? They're German-American. So why not African-American? I consider myself to be German-Hungarian-Asian-Irish-Mexican-French-American. Anyone got a problem with that?- Littledevil8701, on 03/06/2008, -2/+4Not all black people are of African descent. My family is from the Caribbean(West Indies) and I have Irish and Indian in my family.
- JackHarkness, on 03/07/2008, -2/+1Not all black(african) people live in America
- altinnovation, on 03/06/2008, -1/+1The only way to be African-American is to have one parent African, and the other American (though I think they have to be Native Americans). But nationally you're still American.
- Frustian, on 03/07/2008, -0/+0I believe the term African American is for people who were born in Africa or descended from Africa, and are currently American.
- thailand1972, on 03/07/2008, -1/+2Why aren't white Americans called Euro-American? Because it would be silly.
- UTKEngineer, on 03/06/2008, -3/+21No, African American would imply that person was BORN in Africa. Vacation doesn't count.
- KrayzieKyd, on 03/06/2008, -6/+2Tell that to a room of old Black people.
- Canuck, on 03/06/2008, -1/+2If the room of Black people came from Jamaica I think they would be OK with it.
- raynar, on 03/06/2008, -5/+8just throw some watermelon on the floor, and sneak out when they arent looking.
- KevinRWright, on 03/07/2008, -3/+4How the hell did you get any diggs?
- BTConan, on 03/07/2008, -2/+2@ KevinRWright because fried chicken would get the floor all greasy
- Proxenus, on 03/07/2008, -0/+0You said Black
- peestandingup, on 03/06/2008, -1/+1Not long ago it was the other way around.
- gthyb, on 03/07/2008, -0/+4There are plenty of white African Americans (Charlize Theron). I think the term is just stupid.
- aightblah, on 03/07/2008, -1/+0Dave Matthews - born in South Africa, now a naturalized American... and definitely white.
- atdigg, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1Not to mention that all people come from Africa...

- sgtbutterscotch, on 03/06/2008, -6/+10So there's going to be a comedy based mainly on the Vietnam War (unlike Forrest Gump, not sure if that could be counted as comedy anyway) AND it's the most expensive movie ever based on the Vietnam War? I wonder if Stiller can pull of whatever he is doing...
- dragon76, on 03/06/2008, -0/+7You forgot Jewish action hero. If anyone can do it, it's Stiller.
- Picaroon, on 03/06/2008, -0/+13They play guys filming a Vietnam War epic.
- holysocks, on 03/06/2008, -1/+3He pulled Zoolander off pretty darn well~
- rally1, on 03/07/2008, -0/+4Reading comprehension. The movie is not the most expensive movie, they play characters making the most expensive Vietnam War movie....
- olithebumm, on 03/06/2008, -7/+2They said Michael Jackson was taking it 'far'
- Zervas, on 03/06/2008, -7/+84That's because the term "African American" should rarely be applied to an individual, only a group. All Africans aren't black (Egypt anyone?), All black people aren't African and Most black people aren't American.
- Stereotype77, on 03/06/2008, -19/+5Don't buy the hype, people from Egypt are BLACK.
- pnmoore, on 03/06/2008, -0/+7It is a very narrow view to lump every "race" not of European origin as "black"...I know everybody wants the world to be as simple as the bad white people and the good, oppressed black people but the world just isn't that simple. Just as there are good and bad people of all "races", there are more than just black people and white people. Just look around...all "white" people don't have the same skin tone, just as all "black" people do not. And please don't tell me that ALL "white", or ALL "black", people have the same culture. Anybody with half a brain knows that isn't true either...
Any person claiming as their "culture" the whole of the continent of Africa (and only the good things, BTW) is just absurd! - Proxenus, on 03/07/2008, -1/+0Dug up for sticking to your screen name!

- kingUssop, on 03/06/2008, -1/+18all black people aren't black either. *head explodes*
- ayeroxor, on 03/06/2008, -0/+13you misspelled asplode.
- nexus37, on 03/06/2008, -4/+0Sounds like psyco-babble to me.
- bbardlbradd, on 03/06/2008, -1/+7I don't know why people have an issue with calling them PEOPLE. WHY MAKE A DISTINCTION!?
This is what I get for being born in the immediate "post"-racists America. Drop the gene identification and learn to identify them by environment. "African American" basically means they are from African decent and live in America/ Have lived in America/ were raised in America.
I do not call myself a British American or a German American. Even that much distinction is degrading. Even if my parents were from Britain or Germany, I am an American because I was raised here. People with dark skin should be called Americans too because they share my environment and are in my cultural society, not Africa's. - JoeFelice, on 03/06/2008, -2/+0Lots of individuals call themselves African Americans, just like I'm a European American a.k.a. white guy.
For American blacks, the terms are largely interchangeable. Elsewhere, of course not.
I can't believe we're even going over this obvious information. - riibu, on 03/06/2008, -0/+1Last year I overhead a conversation concerning two prominent black characters in Doctor Who. One of the people made a statement along the lines of how great it was to see two African Americans in these strong roles. I literally hit myself.
- cheeseron, on 03/07/2008, -1/+1haha egypt is in africa :P

For christ sakes, just go to page 2 or 3. Page 1 isn't the only one on Digg, you know.

And I'm glad it doesnt hurt you, because I dugg you down.
- TheTaint, on 03/06/2008, -13/+2Seriously guys. We can do better than this on Digg. We just ended Black History Month not but a few days ago.

- jeremyduffy, on 03/06/2008, -12/+112And the answer to the trick question: None. Those are all Americans. African-Americans are people who came from African and immigrated to American becoming citizens. Robert Downy is dressed in makeup as a black American. Can we let this politically correct phrase die now?
- falese, on 03/06/2008, -50/+2shut up loser, you are an idiot american

- ZenMojo, on 03/06/2008, -14/+3Thanks, white man, for defining my race for me. I was sooooo confused until I heard it from you.
- jeremyduffy, on 03/06/2008, -0/+13I find it depressingly amusing that some people who are black would cling to a phrase that separates them from other Americans when the whole time, black leaders wanted equality. How about we keep paying attention to the color difference between people for another hundred years and make a big deal about it by coming up with a special phrase for it that literally calls attention specifically to the color of one's skin?
- the1danimal, on 03/06/2008, -2/+3you are quite welcome, thats what we are here for
- moldykorn, on 03/06/2008, -9/+3You shouldnt have expected any different from a site full of Obama tools.

by arul vigg. - SpaceMonkeyZero, on 03/06/2008, -20/+3I hate Ben Stiller. No talent hack. He keeps failing, and people keep funding his crap.
Cable Guy anyone?
That ***** skit show from the early 90s with Andy Dick?
Along came Polly?
Meet the Fokkers?
And the rest... All crap!- Trollmaster, on 03/06/2008, -0/+6cable guy?

- yfguitarist, on 03/06/2008, -0/+2Underrated dark comedy. Just bought it at Wal-Mart the other day for $5.
- unearth, on 03/06/2008, -2/+3This movie is being directed by Ben Stiller, and the last movie he directed was Zoolander. I don't know anyone who didn't like Zoolander.
- kckman, on 03/06/2008, -2/+2I must admit, you you don't know me. I don't like zoolander. I do like the Royal Tennenbaums though.

- sodoh, on 03/06/2008, -1/+2I think we need to cheer you up. Maybe by showing you the DVD of Dodgeball? Well, sure, then you will be happy for an hour and a half, but what then? Do we show you Dodgeball again? Of course, you will get more out of it, because you will spot new things the second time round. It's layered - it's written that way. But how many times can I you watch Dodgeball? Seven, eight, maybe. Then what?
- my8bird, on 03/06/2008, -1/+1Dodgeball sucks

- internetcoward, on 03/06/2008, -0/+11Christopher Walken would have been way better.
- choopie911, on 03/06/2008, -0/+2Meh, it'd be too much like Balls Of Fury Walken. Although the fact he didn't even try to hide his ethnicity was comical.
- TVarmy, on 03/06/2008, -0/+3Christopher Walken makes everything better. 50% of the time when I'm watching some new chick flick with my mom and sister (family movie nights), I can't help but wonder what it would be like if Scarlette Johanson, Mandy Moore, etc were replaced with Walken.
- bryik, on 03/06/2008, -0/+1I kind of do that but instead of replacing movie characters, I replace my family members with him.
- adragontattoo, on 03/06/2008, -8/+1Oh boy another movie Ill refuse to own or watch!

- right75, on 03/06/2008, -1/+1Is the guy African or is he American?
Africa is not a subset of America, nor is America a subset of Africa. With all the trillions of dollars we've sent to Africa, it should be a subset of America, but it's not.
