Chevy makes pokes fun at the Citreon C4 Transformer
dropkickmonkey.com — Hilarious remake of the Classic Citreon Transformer commercial
- 1026 diggs
- digg it
- killbert24, on 05/16/2008, -34/+18If he sold the technology in this yellow car he'd be able to buy however many Ford Aveo's he wants!
- eagle200363, on 05/16/2008, -0/+20not to mention that Ford does not make the Aveo, and it says "Chevy" in the title
- JerryAscione, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2I am the guy in the flannel shirt. It's true, my transformer car was a Ford Focus. That is what it was modeled after.
- orgazmo, on 05/16/2008, -0/+10But then again, if he had money, he wouldn't buy an Aveo
- eagle200363, on 05/16/2008, -0/+20not to mention that Ford does not make the Aveo, and it says "Chevy" in the title
- kavutu, on 05/16/2008, -8/+1I needs me a Chevy lowrider!!
- TallahasseeDigg, on 05/16/2008, -16/+6It's a creative and fun commercial... someone has great marketing skills. Fun for all - even us old folks!
- franklymister, on 05/16/2008, -1/+15What the ***** is happening to Digg? Are you a bot? Or just a YouTube commenter?
- failure2respond, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3pfft...fake! old people don't use the internets!
- DreKor, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Chevy shill.
- amanilaenvelope, on 05/16/2008, -18/+3Speaking of transformers. Heres megan fox topless
http://www.derober.com/2008/05/12/megan-foxs-boobs ...- arlok789, on 05/16/2008, -1/+6I just can't get enough of those Rockin *****. What did they call them, the Gozangas of... I can't remember.
- ryanturner69, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2why did people digg this down?!!!!
- fusen, on 05/16/2008, -8/+145I don't understand, after watching this I wanted the dancing yellow car, not the crappy red one that behaves like every other car.
- aladrin, on 05/16/2008, -6/+8I dugg you up because too many commercials these days don't say what they think they're saying, but I didn't feel that way.
I don't want a car that refuses to take me home after work. I don't want a car that does its own thing that's completely unrelated to what I want to do.
The message was loud and clear for me... But then, I drive stick... I like to have as much control as possible over the car. - jeriqo, on 05/16/2008, -1/+9Yeah, that was the point of the original Citroën C4 ad.
- BoneStamp, on 05/16/2008, -3/+3Why would you want to sit there all night and watch your car dance?
- apmtt, on 05/16/2008, -0/+7Because that would be awesome and better than pretty much anything I do in my day.
- RobotLeAwesome, on 05/16/2008, -0/+9Uh, because it's a ***** dancing car.
- ShinyDemon, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2At least someone here has some sense.
- JerryAscione, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2How else was I going to get home? I am the guy in the flannel shirt, fun commercial to make.
- Talphin, on 05/16/2008, -4/+3What you don't realize is, the red car could do the same thing, but it obeys it's master like a good obedient transforming car should... :P
- JerryAscione, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2lol i agree, I am the guy in the flannel shirt, the commercial was a lot of fun.
- aladrin, on 05/16/2008, -6/+8I dugg you up because too many commercials these days don't say what they think they're saying, but I didn't feel that way.
- tbhspegs, on 05/16/2008, -5/+8Great commercial. The Maya guys musta had some fun on this one.
- etx313, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1No, I bet you the bitched about every little thing the art directors asked them to do.
And how do you know they didn't use 3dsmax. :)
- etx313, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1No, I bet you the bitched about every little thing the art directors asked them to do.
- drkmccrthy, on 05/16/2008, -4/+6So... other brands of cars can be transformers too but instead of having guns and things, they have the ability to dance? ::wonders what a bmw could do::
- Eslamicolt3, on 05/16/2008, -0/+23Invade Poland, take Paris in a single day.
- Mootabolife, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Make Becks all day long.
- mdcarso, on 05/16/2008, -7/+4Roast jews on the engine.
- Tokyosexwhale, on 05/16/2008, -10/+4All cars are transformers you fools. And I for one welcome our new robotic overlords. [Insert additional popular line here]
- duggtodeath, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2Get Billy Joel behind the wheel and he can transform any ride into a wreck!
- SpaceDreamer, on 05/16/2008, -4/+30Citroën
- mmockett, on 05/16/2008, -14/+3Ánal
- franklymister, on 05/16/2008, -14/+7Gosh, how "viral."
Make sure you pass this along to all your friends so that Chevrolet gets the most bang for their advertising buck!
Got a crappy car that no one's buying? Got a tiny budget that doesn't let you buy a lot of television air time? Just make a viral ad! - alanr19, on 05/16/2008, -16/+10lol It's just a pity Chevy make substandard garbage cars. just like pretty much the entire US auto industry. good ads though.
- BoneStamp, on 05/16/2008, -5/+3It's 2008, your 2004 stereotypes are no good anymore. Update your research... maybe find a reputable source with manufacturer quality ratings. See if you can find Toyota separate from Lexus and you'll be surprised how far down the list it is.
- ross., on 05/16/2008, -2/+2well they certainly have a reputation for cheap crap overseas.
- alanr19, on 05/16/2008, -2/+4Why is it then that educated people who can afford it generally buy BMWs, Merceds Benz, Ferarris, Lamorghinis, Porches, Audis, Lexus even Volkswagons ffs. and not fords, or chevy or saturns (and all the other US low quality brands)
Its quality. The ads on your TV are telling you that things have changed because they would really like you to believe it. Things haven't changed at all. Just read auto reviews on build quality, reliability, performance, customer service etc. They don't lie.
Sure US cars have loads of cup and burger holders and lots of dashboard gadgets but thats ***** all good to you when your car wont start, or pieces of your car start falling off.
US cars are made to a budget (=low grade garbage), European cars (and Japanese cars to a lesser extent) are made to a spec, if it ends up costing a lot well fine that's how much it costs. Its a cultural thing.- BoneStamp, on 05/20/2008, -1/+1Try to find me a mechanic who honestly believes that VWs have reliable electronics, or BMWs have good transmissions... People buy various cars for different reasons, but if you're trying to tell me that people buy BMWs for quality then you must be kidding yourself and know very little about what you're talking about.
GM supplies transmissions to many of the European and Japanese automakers... any idea why? I'll give you a hint... quality. You might be educated, but your education needs to be updated. I know many millionaires and a couple billionaires who buy, drive and love (certain) American cars because they believe those cars are the best at what they want them for.
Just like I know lots of want-to-be millionaires who buy BMWs because they are the best at what they are designed for (style and engine output).
- BoneStamp, on 05/20/2008, -1/+1Try to find me a mechanic who honestly believes that VWs have reliable electronics, or BMWs have good transmissions... - ross., on 05/16/2008, -2/+3digg him up! this man speaks the truth i tell ye!
- wild, on 05/16/2008, -9/+2Why is the car breaking itself apart and flinging pieces off of itself while dancing? That doesn't make sense.
- rattler72, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3But the dancing car does? Its funny... lighten up.
- Eslamicolt3, on 05/16/2008, -1/+46I clearly saw a transforming Camaro in Transformers. This seems like a conflict of interest.
- Kronos6948, on 05/16/2008, -0/+6Chevy/GMC SPONSORED Transformers. If anything, they should've had Bumblebee dancing and making the Citroen wannabe look bad.
- DreKor, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3No, they should have used Jazz. You know, the break dancing black robot? You know, the one that got killed in the movie?
- Kronos6948, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3Ugh. Don't remind me! Damn You Michael Bay!!
- DreKor, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3No, they should have used Jazz. You know, the break dancing black robot? You know, the one that got killed in the movie?
- BoneStamp, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2But you can still drive it when you want to.
- Kronos6948, on 05/16/2008, -0/+6Chevy/GMC SPONSORED Transformers. If anything, they should've had Bumblebee dancing and making the Citroen wannabe look bad.
- CalmBlueOcean, on 05/16/2008, -7/+2well done chevy! but the french are such easy targets.
- GeneralTekno, on 05/16/2008, -1/+4Actually, they made a figure of this.
In Europe, they paid Hasbro to make a freebie Aveo Transformer to tie in with the movie line that they would give away with test drives.
A number of people have gotten their hands on the figure. It doesn't look that bad going off pictures. - davidrools, on 05/16/2008, -4/+24I'd still rather drive a C4.
- jsaya, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1C4 JEEPS FTW! oh wait...
- ericdano, on 05/16/2008, -5/+26English people. Can we PLEASE have headlines that make sense...........
- TheDreadDiggerD, on 05/16/2008, -1/+4Whys woulds we has that?

- davidamerland, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1no problemo amigo, les headolinos pour sensos in Inglezos porfavor
- JonTheGoose, on 05/16/2008, -1/+34The Citroen commercial that this is a parody of:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IL5c2DUnYno- Furkle, on 05/16/2008, -6/+4dugg for not rick rolling
- jeriqo, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4Another great Citroën commercial - the Citroën C1:
http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/citro% ...
Keyword: cube. - BoneStamp, on 05/16/2008, -3/+2The animation in the Chevy commercial is better... and of course it's hilarious that pieces are breaking off as it's dancing.
- jeriqo, on 05/16/2008, -0/+22 more Citroën links:
First "transformer" Citroën C4 ad from 2006:

http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/citro% ...
It's in French but they don't speak much, and yes, it includes the casting of the hot girl, with pics :) - rilus, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3But they clearly show the Citroën transforming back to a car after not even 20 seconds of dancing. It seems like Chevy's just jealous that their cars can't dance.
- downneck, on 05/16/2008, -11/+6it's "Citroën" you ***** retards
- supermanred, on 05/16/2008, -2/+5
It's "Citroën", you ***** retards!
There. With proper punctuation, retard.
- supermanred, on 05/16/2008, -2/+5
- duggtodeath, on 05/16/2008, -2/+55Chevy makes pokes fun for make benefit the great nation of America.
- DeFex, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3It is more wonderful than you can believe it!.
- Modestexcuse, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1All your base are belong to us.
- geneticlone, on 05/16/2008, -4/+20I'll take the dancing C4 :-P
- Zippo, on 05/16/2008, -3/+14Well, if a car doesn't transform, then I don't want it.
- davidamerland, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1what if we throw in a free turret gun in any colour you want?
- Zippo, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1Then we'll talk.
- mattyd12466, on 05/16/2008, -9/+4haha....american cars.....hahaha
- davidamerland, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1Good to see there is no gloating here of any kind...
- sqwidget, on 05/16/2008, -8/+10That Aveo is just fugly. They really shouldn't be going around showing up other manufacturers when that is what they're showing them up with.
- ross., on 05/16/2008, -2/+4Anyone digging this person down has taste in their anus. The car is straight from the pits of hell.
- wassim2k, on 05/16/2008, -0/+16Your use of the English language eludes me.
- Mikkle, on 05/16/2008, -2/+2usage :)
- wassim2k, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1English is my third language.
- Mikkle, on 05/16/2008, -2/+2usage :)
- LegalizeGanja, on 05/16/2008, -7/+10***** the submitter for making a typo. What a loser.
- davidamerland, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1Excellent use of English alongside an exhortation to proofread each headline upon pain of fornication.
- jbenson2, on 05/16/2008, -3/+13Try proof reading your titles before posting.
- thoriphes, on 05/16/2008, -4/+3Do you always make poke fun at other people's mistakes?
- jbenson2, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3Just the stupid mistakes.
- davidamerland, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1How about the intelligent ones? Like you know the ones that let us discover penicillin, split the atom and create monofilament carbon atoms on a nanoscale that will allow us to build an elevator to the stars? How do you resist the urge to mock those?
- jbenson2, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3Just the stupid mistakes.
- thoriphes, on 05/16/2008, -4/+3Do you always make poke fun at other people's mistakes?
- GeneralTekno, on 05/16/2008, -0/+5http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-images/toys/Un ...
Gallery of the toy that got made last year.- famousdave, on 05/16/2008, -2/+2isn't it ironic, don't ya think?
- GeneralTekno, on 05/16/2008, -1/+0How so?
Hasbro was commissioned to make the figure by Chevy.
I think the design in the ad is pretty much based off the toy anyway.
- GeneralTekno, on 05/16/2008, -1/+0How so?
- famousdave, on 05/16/2008, -2/+2isn't it ironic, don't ya think?
- npk9, on 05/16/2008, -6/+13Citreon > Cheverolet
- BXRWXR, on 05/16/2008, -7/+4I don't think that Mexicans are going to care much one way or the other - unless the robot does the Limbo Dance.
- LeeMaple, on 05/16/2008, -5/+13Chevy making fun of any other car company is laughable.
- imacbook, on 05/16/2008, -4/+1Dude have you checked out the new CHEVROLET MATIZ?
http://carblog.com.ua/pic/2007/06/matiz3.jpg- nitrojunky24, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1You haven't forgotten that its really just a Daewoo with a Chevy badge have you? of course that makes it better then a Chevy and ten thousand times uglier.
- se1zure, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3chevy volt looks promising.
- tightscrummy, on 05/16/2008, -2/+2Sure, for vapor-ware.
- HappyScrappy, on 05/16/2008, -3/+3You've never driven a Citroen apparently.
- imacbook, on 05/16/2008, -4/+1Dude have you checked out the new CHEVROLET MATIZ?
- coldkodiak, on 05/16/2008, -3/+3Here we have an example of an advertising firm pushing an article to the top through organized digg machines.
Watch the fake diggs fly for this crappy commercial. - haentz, on 05/16/2008, -4/+4I'd rather watch my car dance than drive this Chevy...
- JerryAscione, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2I agree, I'm the guy in the flannel. Had fun on this shoot.
- PaganHeathen, on 05/16/2008, -4/+10Chevy = the only frikin car manufacturer whose products have left me stranded (more than once and with different cars - fleet vehicles).
"like a rock" -> their slogan takes on new meaning when their vehicles are as immobile as a rock.
I would take a citroen over a POS Chev any day.- joesmeat, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1In reliability ratings, Citroen generally come last along with the other two big French manufacturers.
- thirteenthcor, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1If you feel GM has let you down, its just about the end of the world for you, because everyone else in America making cars isn't any better, and in reality, quite worse.
If you want a HD truck, get a Dodge (cheaper than GM's ridiculous HD truck prices and they have Cummings inline sixes) And always Buy Diesel Used.
if you want a non-performance type car (i.e. not Corvette, Camaro, Pontiac Etc.) then your only options are Japan, Korea (maybe) and Europe. Never, ever, buy an American car, for any reason, unless you absolutely have to, in which case, your Back at GM buying an Impala.
NEVER buy a light duty truck.... EVER... from anyone.... PERIOD.
- diecastbeatdown, on 05/16/2008, -3/+8i'd take a citroen over chevy any day, if they were available in the states. as it is i buy volvo. ;)
- RobotLeAwesome, on 05/16/2008, -4/+5Too bad Chevy makes ***** cars.
- brad77, on 05/16/2008, -1/+4Wow. A bit too much inside baseball. According to the post, the commercial they're making fun of was released a few years back. It's cool and all, but no one is going to get the joke except auto industry ad people.
Explaining drains the humor out of it.- Zcrubby, on 05/18/2008, -1/+1I remember seeing this commercial on TV... I'm 17, I'm too young to feel old
- Lososaurus, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2The head design reminds me of a VF-1A
- bluedragon1981, on 05/16/2008, -2/+4I think that's the worst video that Chevy has come up with. It makes no sense at all!!
- xutopia, on 05/16/2008, -2/+4You know you have a problem when you resort to making fun of the competitor rather than competing on price or value.
- jrbrewin, on 05/16/2008, -2/+1Hilarious? you don't get out much, do you?
- sotloo, on 05/16/2008, -4/+4The Citreon is a far better car so phuck u Chevy
- kylerg, on 05/16/2008, -0/+5Direct Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOpV6-U7jq0
- MrFurious2k, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2LMFAO. Please, let's just go home... *sigh*
- jo21, on 05/16/2008, -4/+4japanese cars > american cars
- jokocogo, on 05/25/2008, -2/+0japanese cities < Atomic Bombs
- kruykaze, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2I'd rather have the dancing car.
- aseriesoftubes, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1nice ad, shame about the car
- DaemonNivas, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1If the initial poster was retarded, and obviously was/is, i don't get it why at least Digg crew doesn't fix Citreon to Citroën?
- thirteenthcor, on 05/17/2008, -1/+1Can't have teh authorities going around changing things willy nilly, that messes with free speech... even if someone recognizes a mistake, someone else might not....
- zeeohsix, on 05/16/2008, -2/+0is this gonna get buried?
what a waste of good letters on bad spelling and grammar - eeipca, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0Citroën haven't the best reputation in Europe.....
