Seinfeld Cites Episode of 'Seinfeld' in Defamation Case
lohud.com — Call it the Cosmo Kramer defense. Jerry Seinfeld has cited his bumbling TV sidekick in federal court papers backing his request to have a federal judge dash a defamation lawsuit filed by an Irvington author. Missy Chase Lapine sued Seinfeld for defamation and his wife, Jessica, for copyright infringement in January, for "wacko" reasons.

- worseforwine, on 10/09/2008, -0/+3I agree with him that society is far too litigious but this case has always seemed to be a high-profile celebrity using their elevated platform to silence and demean someone who may have a valid argument. I really feel for that other author, if their recipes were ripped off or it is a coincidence they at the very least deserve not to be ridiculed by some rich dude on tv.
