- Catspaw, on 03/10/2008, -25/+155George Carlin puts it well and succinctly. In reality, all we have is the illusion of democracy. The US Administration is controlled by the elites - and the same goes for governments of countries elsewhere in the world. For more information on the big picture and their ultimate goals, watch 'Endgame' by Alex Jones at Google Video, which is very important information all should see:

- DarkReign16, on 03/10/2008, -18/+22'Endgame" is a joke. Alex Jones virtually quotes Kent Hovind verbatim when he mentions Evolution. He calls Evolution a part of the "evil conspiracy". Gimme a break, if Alex Jones had any credibility before that "documentary", he's lost it.
- evil-doer, on 03/10/2008, -3/+8no one is correct about everything. just because you find one fault in him means that everything else he says is invalid? no.
- DarkReign16, on 03/10/2008, -8/+3True, but that's a pretty big thing to get wrong. Plus he was wrong on 9/11, he was wrong on Immunization, he was wrong on blood transfusion. All of which he had some epic conspiracy theory about. He claims immunizations cause autism, which is ***** (I cite Skeptic Magazine, and the latest science). He claims that blood transfusions are part of a government conspiracy, as well as claiming that 9/11 was an inside job, by BUSH! The same Bush who couldn't hide the fact that he deleted email. Alex Jones has a ***** track record, and he's not one I'd listen to, or trust.
- rmtatum, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1Alex Jones is speaking of a particular philosophy known as Social Darwinism. I listen to his show regularly and I know he is a theistic evolutionist. (I am a creationist and I disagree with his stance.). Not all evolutionists like Social Darwinism. Ludwig Von Mises was an atheist but he condemned Social Darwinism as well. You didn't research the issue and spoke rashly.
- evil-doer, on 03/10/2008, -3/+8no one is correct about everything. just because you find one fault in him means that everything else he says is invalid? no.
- Frixionburne, on 03/10/2008, -4/+33I really wish that the people who made these films were a little less nutty, maybe then more people would start to ask questions. Zeitgeist was relatively acceptable, but there is still that massive, overbearing conspiracy overtone. I wish factual evidence could just be represented and not opinionated.
Mr. Carlin is getting old.... its depressing to watch knowing that he only has a few more years left. We need to make a holiday for this guy.- jawnboy, on 03/10/2008, -0/+9It sucks, but I always assumed they seem a bit nutty from trying to wake everyone up for years and people screaming tin-foil-hat into their face constantly. I mean it gets old when you are just having a discussion now days and you don't particularly like the koolaid. Can you imagine if you did it everyday for years as publicly as possible? Alex sounds a lot like a shady used car salesman and his site sucks with tons of ads, but I wonder if he was just normal guy before and he uses the ads just to live? I don't know personally a lot of what he say makes me WTF? But since a lot of what he said for years started coming true it is harder and harder to outright ignore him. For me anyway ymmv :-)
- flogistan, on 03/10/2008, -33/+3This video is antisemitic.
- boombye, on 03/10/2008, -0/+21Oh please, anything critical of the Israeli government is labeled anti-semitic, even Jews who disagree with how Israel conducts itself in foreign policy are called anti-semitic. Stop throwing around labels like that.
- flogistan, on 03/10/2008, -13/+2He's cleverly hiding his antisemitism by carefully wording his act so it doesn't directly address the real object of his hatred. Carlin's ideas here are those of the typical racist catholic that he is, and are antisemitic, period, no two ways about it. He probably molests children like the rest of them. He's never made a funny joke in his life. The ADL should put a stop to his act. Goy comedy stinks anyway.
- BarleyWind, on 03/10/2008, -2/+6No, Jews who criticize Israel are called self-hating Jews.
- boombye, on 03/15/2008, -0/+1But look at Ehud Olmert's approval ratings, so the Israelis hate themselves too?
- LupeFiasco, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2Did you watch Dogma? If you did you would know he gives it to the Catholic church as well. That whole movie bashed the Catholic church.
On top of that his character was a Cardinal named Glick. And if you don't know Glick is an almost exlcusively Jewish name.
That's like having a Cardinal named Rosenthal or Bloomberg. Again, more poking fun at the the church.
Do some research before you start throwing accusations around like that. Using it everytime someone criticizes Israel is stupid and you need to grow up. So tired of this *****.
- EarlOfLade, on 03/10/2008, -0/+2And people wonder why there are wars around the world?

I've been to Norway, and it's a tiny country. The population of Trondheim is like 300,000 people. People are lazy and don't do anything all day because the government just hands them money. I don't see how taking rich countries' money after WWII and handing it out like a spendthrift makes anyone a great leader. If anything, it's the kind of behavior I'd expect from a lazy, lackey pleb. Certainly not the sort of leadership that's needed to build a great industrial economy.

- Dr0x, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2Well said, I personally feel as if what Marx wrote about in the communist manifesto is currently unfolding in the U.S. today. We have taken capitalism here in the U.S. to an extreme in turn it will eventually lead to failure unless things are changed. It is sick how far behind our country is in terms of Universal health care and education. Just look at how flawed our education system is, where in the end what determines the quality of your diploma is nothing more than how much you are willing to pay to officially receive a piece of paper regardless of what knowledge is learned. A person could participate online in the exact same classes as a student at MIT, the only difference being they don't receive documentation for their knowledge. If competition amongst ourselves continues to rise at its current rate its only time before some poor future generation snaps under all the pressures in life to succeed while they are forced for fork over their life's savings for years of their life just to get a decent job.

- 5urr3al5am, on 03/10/2008, -7/+4Carlin has grown more and more cynical and jaded over the years. He's fallen to the exact same fate of many 'artists'; they keep trying to push the envelope without keeping reality in check - because, ultimately they lack real talent and creactivity. He's almost become a characticture of himself. He contradicts himself over and over, and makes crap up at best. But, I'll give him this, like all good comedians, there is some shreds of truth in -some- of what he says.
- ShugNinx21, on 03/10/2008, -3/+1He's a comedian. There doesn't need to be any truth or reality in what he says, it only needs to be funny.

- ShugNinx21, on 03/10/2008, -3/+1He's a comedian. There doesn't need to be any truth or reality in what he says, it only needs to be funny.
- jabberwolf, on 03/10/2008, -4/+2Um last time I looked, we actually vote don't we!!?
Some simple realizations like that usually dispell the rantings of stupid ( or senile) that want to take no responsibility or need to assign blame for the lack of control in their life.- Cornfedhusker, on 03/10/2008, -0/+5It's not the vote that counts but who counts the votes.
- Groovemaster, on 03/11/2008, -1/+4Yep. You vote in a corrupt political system controlled by the corporations.
Lot of freedom you have there, chump... - Lewie, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2we vote, but it doesn't really mean anything, at least in the presidential election. We actually vote for congress, but most people are drawn to the marketted, high-profile candidates with lots of money, who are generally owned by lobbies. And if congress keeps giving up power to the president, the people will have very little real power. Take some Political Science classes and be amazed at what little power the people actually have.
- DiggCommando, on 03/10/2008, -2/+2It makes me sad that a rant like this (not even an argument) can pass for "genius" and truth. Reality is not so simple as people like Carlin love to make it appear. Although Digg is particularly full of armchair economists that think themselves informed after watching a few Youtube clips, it does seem like this kind of thinking is gaining more and more ground throughout the nation. I hold that it is the result of an increasingly complex world where the management of the economy has rapidly escaped the comprehension of the average individual. Angry rants such as this one push the right buttons in people that feel disenfranchised.
We live in a time where the world is experiencing tectonic shifts in the balance of economic and political power. There are bound to be many unhappy outcomes but also many people better off. The point is that these things happen as a consequence of millions of decisions made today, yesterday, even a century ago. Extravagantly rich people are too envious of each other for there to be a successful cabal controlling anything for too long without some other group throwing a wrench in the whole operation. Yes there is a ruling class; has there always been one? Yes. Do they control everything to the degree that Alex Jones and Carlin want people to believe? Probably not.- OoO3xOoO, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2Yea, envy. That's it. I'm sure Rupport Murdoch is very envious of Ted Turner. And the CEO of GE is envious of Exxons CEO. I don't buy it.
These people do have MUTUAL interests that keep them is such powerful positions. And they have steered this country - and ultimately the global economy - into the ditch. You don't have to have a PhD in economics to see this.
Just because "we live in a time where the world is experiencing tectonic shifts in the balance of economic and political power" does not mean that that power is not being pushed in a certain direction that is very unhealthy for our species and the environment. What is happening is a direct result of greed and the deliberate consolidation of power. It can be argued that a small number of corporations now exhibit more social and cultural influence that large governments, and this is an entirely new phenomenon.
So yes, reality is not so simple, but Carlin's statements are not just idle thoughts - they are backed up by what is happening right now.
- OoO3xOoO, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2Yea, envy. That's it. I'm sure Rupport Murdoch is very envious of Ted Turner. And the CEO of GE is envious of Exxons CEO. I don't buy it.

Besides, who cares: do you really think that New Zealand will be able to stave off the New World Order?- BESTenemy, on 03/10/2008, -0/+1 Socialism and central planning is a good ideology, but nothing works according to design. The problem is that no single entity is able to foresee and address the needs of large numbers of diverse population. The government grows corrupt and violates its own ideology.
Our system was set up in a way that would preserve segmentation of government and the land in order to reflect the needs of different groups. What we are experiencing is segregation of power. Minority curbs the majority in order to protect its private interest. We measure influence based on wealth, instead of consensus. We use statistics to justify the actions. We say people are wealthy, while in reality for every single insanely rich man we count 9 that are dirt poor and then arrive with an average that does not represent the true distribution of assets.
Blah blah blah. It's all obvious. - PhireN, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1Socialism is great, its communism you have to watch out for, because it is normally associated by fascism (and if it wasn't, it would fall apart.)
I think Americans don't distinguish between socialism and communism.
And about staving off the New World Order: not a chance, we mothballed our last 20 or so fighter planes almost 10 years ago. (the US is blocking the sale, so they are just sitting outside) - OpaqueMurdock, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Its refreshing to see people discussing socialist ideas as one viable set of ideological tools to pull from. As Americans, we are not supposed to be afraid of anything, yet we freak out over anything that even slightly smells like the dreaded communism. Keep in mind that I don't think we should go any further than we have in the past... but a return to some of our more grand efforts aimed at helping the people and not just putting more wealth in the pockets of the few might be cool. You could argue that some very socialist programs built the infrastructure of America those efforts in turn helped us grow to the position of power we now tenuously hold... my guess is that we will see some of that sort of thing returning soon as the world changes a bit.. : )
Sure, "greed is good" but it only gets ya so far.

- jenshik, on 03/11/2008, -0/+3It's not like we can stop the government from doing what they please, though. The current Labour government is buying back the railways after they were privatised years ago (to cut costs). The National government says they'll just sell them off again if they are elected.
The government has been promising tax cuts for years but hasn't given any, even though they have a massive surplus. Right now, there's a big uproar about some politicians who are being flown overseas on taxpayers' money for whatever unnecessary purpose, even though four of those politicians are quitting politics at the next general election.
In other words, the people do not rule. We have to choose between parties that claim policies but aren't obligated to carry them out. - oldhick, on 03/10/2008, -8/+115Too bad we have no choices for change. The one candidate who says the word "change" more than an any other doesn't seem to actually plan on changing anything. I know McCain and Hillary aren't going to actually change anything if they get the shot. I think the only two would actually change anything were Kucinich and Ron Paul. But most of the "hard working" Americans that Carlin is so fond of, laugh at those two. Its a real shame.
- vwerf, on 03/10/2008, -0/+15So So So true. Unfortunitly I fear that we may find OUR America burried so deep in a hole that we cannot climb back out.
- zephyr42, on 03/10/2008, -1/+34Dumb people willingly listen to propaganda about how radical and crazy people like RP, Kucinich, and Gravel are. My parents are perfect examples of it (sadly). they watch fox news and talk exactly like fox news wants them to talk.

- coyoteblue, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Well, that's ok. I had two of my aunts call me a n*gger lover for wanting to vote for Obama.

- x1ang, on 03/10/2008, -0/+4the reason we don't have choices for change is because a single person cannot, in reality, make this change - thus the democracy system. we would need an change in all three branches (well, probably only 2.. unless the judicial branch are being bitches) who all share a similar ideal and goal in order for any drastic change to even possibly occur.
- Namakemono, on 03/10/2008, -0/+3It's frustrating as hell being surrounded by such apathetic sheep. I just want to go around and slap people so they can wake the ***** up. - Lrn2Fish, on 03/11/2008, -5/+0Seriously people....obama is pushing for government transparency.......if u have one f-ing clue, thats huge change. Imagine if SOME of us diggers oculd spend our time digging through whats going on in washington and created some startups to start getting individuals involved in government activities.......imagine if our president pushed for net neutrality and invited big well known internet superstars to join in the policy shaping for the future of the greatest communication medium on our planet........if u dont think thats change, then u dont see the 50 million articles about big Corporations trying to take the internet out from under our feet.
I got news for you. Health care changes are going to take yeeeeeears....probably longer than obama will be there....but..think about this. we all claim to be a christian nation....followers of christ...u know, the guy that says love(treat) thy neighbor as thyself........AND we are the nation of walmarts, starbucks, 60 inch plasma tvs, people owning three $400 gaming systems.........rich ass followers of christ's message.............WHY the ***** dont we have universal health care...caring for our neighbors is embedded in our philosophical beliefs and were rich bitch!
Also.what the hell is with iraq........PEOPLE.....we santioned the hell out of iraq for the last 12 years before the war. ask any of your navy buddies stationed near iraq........for 12 years, we daily flew over them..........THEY DIDNT HAVE *****..we santioned them for TWELVE years.....they were poor as cow spit......they had about as much chance of smuggling weapons of MD to us as did any nation in africa....They were too busy trying not to be taken over by any of the more powerful neighbor countries....we took iraq for two reasons....possible oil revenue and a us stronghold to defend israel.......How about we vote for the guy who wants to track terrorists in o, i dont know, the places where they are such as pakistan and saudi arabia.
come on....geeeeze stop concentrating on whether he wears a flag pin and look at hte real world.- grinchdec23, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Obama seems the warmest candidate, however i dont see him ever wielding actual power and making more than superficial change.

- vwerf, on 03/10/2008, -4/+33Dugg for a quality rant that hasn't yet been censored by the main stream media. So many excellent points that we never get to hear about. The sad thing is that they are all true, I dare to be proven wrong that John McCain has any form of popular vote that hasn't been bought by corporate greed. I have never once met a 'supporter' of his and yet he will probably have the presidency bought for him. And I fear what the US will look like if we don't wake up and realize that we have trusted the very ones who have lied to us since we were all born.
What is needed is essentially another Boston Tea Party; a way to take control back from those who as Carlin said have already enslaved us.- bluesnowmonkey, on 03/10/2008, -0/+5I know two very avid McCain supporters. - cybrguy, on 03/10/2008, -0/+6I'm actually a delegate in Washington State, there are lots of McCain supporters. They are all the old people who have been brainwashed to ram through the most electable republican over and over and over because "we gotta beat them Dems". At our convention they showed a crude video bashing dems, hillary and obama. It was my first convention. Also, they passed a rule in my county that made us stand and say whether we would suppport the "republican nomination" for president. Seemingly to suggest, if your not voting along the party line, we dont want you. That pissed off a fair share of the new people. Luckily, we voted in a large number of Ron Paul Delegates because we were organized. If we did the same thing everywhere else we could LITTERALLY hijack the election and force Ron Paul as the republican nominee. Our system is so effed up. Due to the delegate system, less than 1% of the population could determine who was the nominee for either dems or reps.

- mrzack, on 03/10/2008, -2/+14The American dream is debt...err I mean dead.
- coustoe, on 03/10/2008, -1/+1actually debt is good. It allows you to trade/transfer your potential earning in the future to now so you can buy a house and car, instead of waiting until your in your mid 30s to 40s like your grandparents and parents used to do.
Plus it acts as a great mechanism for people on fixed incomes (retirement) to provide for themselves in their old age by transfering their wealth they've accumalted to productive endevors in the economy while earning a modest income.
thus you have young people who can enjoy their future potential now and old people who can be supported by providing/transfering that wealth.- shadow010, on 03/10/2008, -0/+0The analysts have said were so far in debt that were headed for a great depression though... and the fact that were in so much debt to other countries and people still have money means were just printing more and defacing it's value... They've even said that the cheap labor countries we're purchasing from want to increase their prices because of the low value of the dollar... Yeah, depression coming, definitely.
- NewGTGuy, on 03/10/2008, -0/+1It is important to note that every "Federal Reserve Note" in circulation represents debt. The Federal Reserve allows us to use their private money for a fee. This fee has now accumulated into what we call the national debt.
This is the point I believe mrzack is trying to make.
- coustoe, on 03/10/2008, -1/+1actually debt is good. It allows you to trade/transfer your potential earning in the future to now so you can buy a house and car, instead of waiting until your in your mid 30s to 40s like your grandparents and parents used to do.

- tsotha, on 03/10/2008, -8/+2Afraid to speak up? Who? I don't see any indication people are afraid to speak up. The real problem is getting them to shut up.
- jawnboy, on 03/10/2008, -0/+1So the enemy that need to be defeated is the MSM - the are controlled by a few and determine what the people's reality will be. You would think with thousands of educated bright tech savy adults and near adults someone could actually find some way to loosen the grip they have on the information needed by the populace. If it could be done and the sleeping giant could be awakened those running away with our democracies would run away in fear. But first there needs to be a way to awake the sleepers. It would not be easy and would not happen overnight, but at one time a few farmers took on the worlds greatest superpower and won.

- subliminalurge, on 03/10/2008, -1/+3Please think a little more clearly. Bush's track record has nothing to do with Hillary's merits (or lack thereof).
They're all politicians. They all belong to the same club that Mr. Carlin spoke of. They all have the same goals.
The frightening truth is that it simply DOESN'T ***** MATTER who gets elected. Or even which party the eventual winner belongs to. They're all the same, and they'll all continue to push the same agenda. Bush (or, more accurately his speech writers) may have been less effective at blowing smoke up our collective ass than past presidents, but the truth is that no matter who gets elected we're still in for more of the same old *****.- jawnboy, on 03/10/2008, -0/+3Sorry, but for some you simply cannot scream loudly enough, they are incapable of hearing. Their mother and father the media has told them that Obama will save them and they cannot see any other reality but that one. Yeah, right. Meanwhile we have to IMPORT smart workers from China and India because amercans are too ***** dumb to hold down a decent job. Trust me, big industry WANTS smart citizens because it suffers when it has to employ IDIOTS.
Of course, it's always easier for retarded lardbutted southerners and midwestern hick losers to blame their ills on BIG BAD BUSINESS instead of on their own lethargy and sloth. "Yeah, it's them wall street bankers keeping us down *guzzles another 12 cans of bud light*."- nopointinnames, on 03/10/2008, -0/+12Yes, they want smart workers, not smart people. They don't want smart people who are also smart workers because then they figure out, why am I making these idiots millions when I can be making them for myself?

WHOEVER WILL DO THE WORK AND ASK FOR THE LEAST AMOUNT OF MONEY IS BEST.
The sooner you realize these are the basic precepts these people have long since accepted, and learn that "Buying American" and other concepts will get you nothing more than raped by the people believe the above, the sooner you realize that buying from GM means buying from Mexico and sending the profits back to the same fatcats.- Rioracer916, on 03/10/2008, -1/+2So true, just look at the Air-force's tanker deal that went to EAD over Boeing. There is no such thing as national loyalty anymore, it's all about those three principles in Rizmaster's comment. In this case:
"WHOEVER WILL DO THE WORK AND ASK FOR THE LEAST AMOUNT OF MONEY IS BEST."- petrodollar, on 03/10/2008, -3/+1More like whoever CAN do the work. - OpaqueMurdock, on 03/10/2008, -0/+4"What good is ruling a third-world country with dumb people?"
Not much... but ruling a country of populated by mostly "poor by US standards" to "lower middle class people" with no real hope of escaping the trap set for them would rock! They think they can still live "the American dream" so they consume at the same rate as their parents did but somehow never ending up with the same accumulated wealth. The furniture only lasts a few years and needs to be replaced, if they decide to be prudent and drive a car for more than a few years it starts to cost an arm and a leg to keep it up. Appliances, clothes, the house you had built, all seem to be falling apart quicker than the stuff you inherited from your grandmother... and its not like they are cheap to buy.
Suddenly you notice you owe so much money, and you have so little. You worked hard, you didn't buy a ton of stuff you didn't need... wth? Its all a scam. Bait and switch. Plus, My step father had 2 jobs his whole life... never out of work, just 2 jobs... military and a corporate gig. Both came with full benefits and a pension. Yes, thats right... they rewarded you for loyalty. Interesting.
We still act like health care and medicine are affordable. We still act like the average price of a car is no big deal. We still act like most people should be able to afford to buy a home or send their kid to a good school. But what is it that makes all that possible? Debt, deep deep horrid all the interest up front debt. Take away the finance trickery, grants, "insurance ponsy schemes" government assistance and I think most people would crap there pants at the thought of SAVING to buy a house, car or college education.
just my thoughts.. heh
Its not a huge conspiracy mind you... its just a combination of simple greed and apathy run amuck.- coustoe, on 03/10/2008, -1/+2what good is a house to me if have to save up all my life to live in it?
And guess what? Your dad and all the pension funds probably own all that debt. Ya thats right that debt you have is funding all the retirees.
So call all the retirees greedy for trying to live off a fixed income.- OpaqueMurdock, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2"what good is a house to me if have to save up all my life to live in it?"
I think that was my point.... : ) Most people don't really own anything. The pay huge amounts of interest up front and very little principal. After 30 years you may own your house but many of us will have paid 2 to 3 times what it would have cost in cash. Not that long ago, many people used to SAVE for a house and not pay that interest, and it didn't take them their whole lives. Almost no on one would consider doing that now. Its just not posible.
As to the second comment, I personally don't have much debt. Its just the way I live. : ) But I understand what you are saying. All I can say is that I doubt that 40-50 years ago those plans were funded the same way they would be today. My guess is that they were most likely funded by company profits set aside in a safe modest growth plan... At some point, this changed and companies started to "invest" that money in more risky ventures like what is common today, once again making my very point.

What should we do? - Namakemono, on 03/10/2008, -1/+4We can start by making critical thinking classes mandatory all four years of high school. This is a chicken & egg problem though because you need critical thinkers (or people that understand the value of critical thinking) in order to implement such a policy. Phuck!
- Xcel, on 03/11/2008, -0/+3We have to do what Namakemono said as well as get involved in our local government. Take a stand. Take over. It may be a slow process, but we (meaning people who are not in it for the money) need to take out the corruption. I may be only 18, but Ron Paul inspired me to take a stand and to get involved over a year ago. I think if anything, Ron Paul did a great job in inspiring others. Now I plan on majoring in Political Science. I have started attending my local GOP meetings (yes, I am a registered Republican, but Democrats need ot do the same on their side). I am not doing this for the money, I am doing this in hopes that one day I will continue my climb and make a difference state-wide and nation-wide. I encourage all to do the same. America needs the people now more than ever.

- marcmarc, on 03/10/2008, -29/+16Screw you, George Carlin. Although you occasionally make me laugh (the Joe Pesci thing in the "Religion is *****" segment is priceless), you have a disgusting pessimistic worldview that you mask as realism.
The American government is not a group of elites which works to hold everybody down. It is made up mostly of very patriotic people who are out to do the right thing. People who disagree: have you ever even watched c-span before?
The media is irresponsible, but there is no conspiracy that controls them.
"When you're young, you look at television and think, There's a conspiracy. The networks have conspired to dumb us down. But when you get a little older, you realize that's not true. The networks are in business to give people exactly what they want. That's a far more depressing thought. Conspiracy is optimistic! You can shoot the bastards! We can have a revolution! But the networks are really in business to give people what they want. It's the truth." -Steve Jobs
And finally, I really dislike your hostility toward religion. There are flaws in all named religions, but there are also strands of good in mostly all of them.
"The fanatical atheists are like slaves who are still feeling the weight of their chains which they have thrown off after hard struggle. They are creatures who--in their grudge against traditional religion as the 'opium of the masses'-- cannot hear the music of the spheres." -Albert Einstein http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1 ...
I'll probably be buried to hell, but please post an explanation of why you bury me.- Hetman, on 03/10/2008, -7/+3If their i s a reason to hate religion it is the thread above us. Check the thread above us Creationists can't fail Earth Science: Oklahoma. The dumbing down of america by religion is happening regardless if you want to admit to it or not. Im not saying all christians believe that BS but they sure do not speak up against it when some crazy creationist is spouting anti gay, ant-evolution, and anti-abortion propoganda around the country.
- marcmarc, on 03/10/2008, -2/+5Christianity gets a bad rap from its extremists (the ones you see on the news.) Many of my friends are Christian, and they are awesome. I just try to rise above the ignorance of the few and appreciate the good of the many (there is a lot of it if you pay attention.)
- Hetman, on 03/10/2008, -0/+4I agree with you. How come these christians do not stand up and say something like. Hey those people over their who are acting like christians are not really christians whatsover. To be honest they are kind of ignorant and full of bigotory. That is not us tha is not what christianity stands for etc. When athiests/agnostics try to point it out they just look like evil god haters.
- jawnboy, on 03/10/2008, -1/+3Because atheists (the loud-mouths atheists) piss everyone off and make even the moderate Christians want to tell the atheists to ***** off. If it is approached with respect then you often get respect and discussion in return. But starting with "your imaginary sky wizard" type of statement really tends to irritate a lot of people.
- RogueMountie, on 03/10/2008, -5/+3Yes, I watch C-Span. Yes, they are patriotic. I suppose that is why they all voted for the "Patriot Act", or all the other absurd legislation that has been passed in the name of patriotism. Just once I would like to see a politician forget patriotism, and embrace reason and critical thinking.
- marcmarc, on 03/10/2008, -1/+2I believe that actual patriotism goes hand in hand with reason and critical thinking. I'll agree that sometimes bad things happen under the false name of "patriotism", but, with the majority of our government, I think it's the real thing.

- pyro789x, on 03/10/2008, -1/+6Buried because I don't agree that disagreeing with somebody's general philosophy or world view is grounds for such unfounded hostility towards them ("screw you").
Buried because I do not really believe that the American government is made up of people who really give two ***** about the average person. Sure, there are the rare few patriots who are up there for the good of the citizens, but those people are few and far between, and anything they try to accomplish usually gets shut down by the others.
Buried because I do think that there is indeed somebody that is up there pulling the strings and only giving us the media they want us to see, under the guise of being fair and balanced, and attempting to stop citizens from going anywhere else to get their news ("You can get all the news you can at fox news").
Buried because he didn't even mention religion in this video, making your comment inapplicable. That's just as bad as all the other off-topic spammers that take any opportunity they can to push their agenda
Buried for making me sit here and type this out instead of just burying you.- marcmarc, on 03/10/2008, -4/+3The only thing you said that I remotely agree with is that I got a little out of hand saying "screw you". His videos make me angry and I might have gone off a little too strongly.
I already stated my case for your second and third paragraphs. I just straight up disagree with what you said. I also disagree with what you said in your fourth paragraph. I can't bring up other things that a person has said while I state my opinion on them simply because they didn't say it in this specific video? While everyone else gets dugg up for telling how all of George Carlin's videos are awesome? (OMGZ WATCH CARLIN CALL RELIGION ***** LOL +46 diggs)
Look around. Do you know people who would want to spend their life putting everyone else down? I sure don't. Mostly everyone realizes before long that money can only provide so much joy, and money earned dishonestly pretty much makes you hate yourself.

If you want to have kids, you get a guardian certificate (birth certificate).
Remember any activity which requires a license is illegal without it.
We lost our country in 1933 when we went bankrupt. As part of the bankruptcy, the US Government pledged all assets (labor, property, and gold) to the Private Federal Reserve in exchange for them lending us money. It's no coincidence that the SSN was introduced shortly there after in 1935.
These are not conspiracy theories. I have a deep knowledge of all key statutes and executive orders from the late 1800 until now.
