This guy's work is amazing. I've actually got the opportunity to go see him teach a seminar in Chicago in two weeks. The link if anyone else is interested: http://www.photoshopseminars.com/class/150/ (he'll also be in San Francisco the following Monday 4/23) - PleaseJustDie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37Ok managed to get the rest of them

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t119/easykillofasura/10_adhemas1.jpg - itsameericle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I just laughed when I saw the title because I knew if anything were down, it would be this.
- hootdoodie, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4What would Ansel Adams say...
- Landonr, on 06/30/2008, -0/+6http://www.shinybinary.com/
One of the people's portfolio. - Cmain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1One of them is Scott Hansen, one of my favorite digital artists of all time. He also makes some cool music and sells t-shirts and posters which I have bought. Check him out at: http://www.iso50.com/
- anti_hax0r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Ansel was a photographer, not a graphic designer

- Emexci, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1amazing... best of photoshop Design...
- Capzap, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2hmmm
- designVampire, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Awesome, adhemas is my favorite, though nik ainley does some crazy stuff....
- MrSarcasm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+44I'd also like to see some "server administration masters", who do amazing things, such as surviving digg's front page.
- todd.cole, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0The problem with that is people who usually do amazingly cool things like this can't afford the fat pipe that a digging requires.
- hootdoodie, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1so half the comments are all about who can survive a digg rush. Let's talk about that in half the comments. Y'all got the power to take down a site. You be bad. I used to ***** around with my stereo to see how wall shaking and screaming I could make it. During that phase I didn't listen to the music. I used to be dumb and stupid. Why is digg so about gaming and getting a plus? freaks!
- inio, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Already slow and not even on the front page yet...
- BonhamsGhost, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Interesting list, though I would say it is definitely a trendy one. It will be interesting to see how many of these designers will stay relevant as trends change. In particular that Brazilian design style is so popular today. Ainley is my favorite out of this list though.
Is it just me or is there something soulless to Bert Monroys work? Don't get me wrong, he' s an absolute technical master. But his subject matter is dreadfully boring and in the end I dont' get anything out of his pieces besides "Wow that must have taken a ridiculously long time to do." Other artists I've discussed this with seem to agree- evil-doer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14i think because bert never seems to use photos at all. everything he does is from scratch. he doesnt manipulate photos, he builds up from nothing. and he is very good at it.
- monospaced, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4photoshop masters are NOT designers
- BonhamsGhost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Well if you check this list it's all designers and a few illlustrators thrown in. I'm not going to start arguing what is art, what is design, and what is gimmick. My comments were just related to this Digg post....
@evildoer
That is a very valid point. I totally agree it's tremendous what he does, but it doesn't speak to me like other art does - x911oz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ainley whips ass. most of the other ***** was so... commercial.
- bethlagarrison, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37More like 503 Photoshop Masters
- bethlagarrison, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Caught it for a second. There are examples of the work on the page, but most of the work is off-site.

Browsing his site makes me weep. - markos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I work on this guy's website, and think he's great with Photoshop:
http://leibo.net/digital_art/index.html - Lososaurus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'd recommend Pablo's work:
http://www.digitalpops.com/ - Xageroth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Whoa, awesome. The work that's being featured for Joshua M. Smith was done under the creative direction of Hydra (last place I worked for). They have that soccer picture in their demo reel. That dude is definitely talented as hell.

- bluetytanium, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12In before grammar nazi.
- CSFiend, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6duggmirror did manage to mirror it... too bad it mirrored the "Service Unavailable" page!
- CycloneNimrod, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Check the photoshop skills. All that text tool work, look at the font on the "Service Temporarily Unavailable".
Oh wait, its not an image. Shocking. - CommunistEagle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2It's being dugg while down.
- bl00w, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i was wondering the same thing
- Gifted619, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4These are great example of some photoshop pros, but none of them are ground breaking or original in any sense which does pose a question. Currently we are impressed by such levels of creativity but the level of technology is here today to far surpass the cookie cutter work that is being done by these so called Masters. You want masters, next time please refer to Di Vinci, Dali, Kustabi, Vermeer, Cezanne, Renoir, and others they pushed the boundaries of art and design not these carbon copy clones of each-other work that is has been psychologically proven by advertisement executives to grab your attention and keep it there for the sole purpose of selling their product, so consume on you whore/leech.
- bigtizzle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8You fail your SMUG check. Them's the breaks.
- x911oz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1word.
- CgarHater, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4I could do better with MS paint.
- peachpeach, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0we don't need to critique, obviously they've got some really good skills going on.
- CgarHater, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Lol, I wasn't criticizing them, i guess i should start adding sarcasm tags.
- peachpeach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i wasn't just talking about you
- rswelling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That might be the most difficult to read "design" blog i've seen in a while...green on green (If you get to see it). Here's a link to an article discussing the pitfalls of being "dugg". Maybe you guys can decimate that one as well, since I already read it.
http://blogs.tech-recipes.com/davak/2005/11/06/digg-effect-the-top-10-things-webmasters-should-know/ - Syndrome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Derek Lea, National-Treasure anyone?

were collaborations done between Josh Smith (Hydro74) AND Danny Jones (YASLY)
http://www.youaresolastyear.com/work/waistdeep/
http://www.youaresolastyear.com/work/bimbobread2006/ - phractured, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have always wanted to see people like this try web design and see what they come up with.
- princessangry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1thing is though alot of the graphics on there have allready been done tousands of times over. it's easy to copy off someone and just suck up a tutorial and instantly pull off graphics like that, however come up with a style you've never seen and thats where the real challenge is it's also very easy to overlay stuff n an image and make let's say a pic of goku that has real flames around him is just a matter of placeing selections over eachother and blending them in nicely.
- SHuisman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Bert Monroy FTW !
- UCFmethod, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3if another person says FTW, im gonna shoot them. stop using that phrase, its stupid and makes you look emo!
- Anonymous3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You said the magic letters.
- shinelikeitdoes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0a couple of them are amazing. the rest are amongst a plentiful pool of good talent, but it is a bit much to call them
masterful. - UCFmethod, on 10/12/2007, -15/+1yeah, no digg, site sucks, pictures are too ***** small to see any detail. (at least on my 24 inch dell lcd, which btw if your monitor is smaller then 24 inch, kill yourself)
- jon3k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I'm posting this from an 30" HP LP3065. Anyone with a display smaller than 30" should kill themselves.
ps you're an idiot. - oneoverzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5my e-penis pales in comparison to yours, oh one who holds the 24 inch monitor.
- iFrikkenR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@ucf:
Clearly this "large" screen of yours the the highlight of what must be a very sad life - undoubtedly spent entirely infront of your precious screen. Which raises the question:
Suicide: Is it for you? - jenshik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My $10 17 inch CRT does me fine. Shut the hell up about your e-penis.
- jon3k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I'm posting this from an 30" HP LP3065. Anyone with a display smaller than 30" should kill themselves.
- malicexcx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0these guys are great dont get me wrong, and some of these are just incredible, also i see a lot of clip art in some of them, just repeated clip art.
- REDBLIND, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Important to know that about a good 50% of most of those pieces was probably drawn in "Illustrator" first or even drawn by hand and scanned in.
Photoshop always gets all the credit . . . - Rosco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bah, the Best Photoshop Masters are on Fark!
/Oh, am I gonna get burned in here for that one. hehe - fpssledge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Some of those didn't seem like they are that great. I mean, I like them all. It takes talent to create them, but "some" of them seem like they were created by just another random photoshop user. I'm involved in a couple different GFX communities and some of the users on there could probably create some of those pieces of art easy. I picked out one from Bert Monroy. His artwork is great and rare talent. As well as some others. I'm just saying "some" of them didn't seem all that amazing to me, while still cool, just not amazing.
- cbreaker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's not a matter of being a master at Photoshop. *****, I'm a master at Photoshop - I've been using it for as long as I can remember and I know almost everything there is to know about it. But I'm not an artist.
You have to be an artist, someone that is able to create and draw these images. I can't do that. I am proficient at touching up photos, creating simple graphics for video project, etc. Being able to use Photoshop doesn't enable me to create works of art. - phenom2k7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I was expecting some amazing retouching or image manipulation. From what I've seen it just looks like ordinary artwork.
- iepurilah, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2yep...true
- spydrlink, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Here's some good stuff: http://www.definitivedoodle.com/dd_work.html
- FatalTragedy316, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0http://www.worth1000.com/
My favorite site, mainly due to the new and interesting galleries always being added.
- FatalTragedy316, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0http://www.worth1000.com/
- andypatil, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Sorry for comment hijack, but what about this artist http://www.digg.com/design/Making_of_Frodo_in_Photoshop
- catburton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2These are stunning! I wish i had even a small fraction of the artistic talent required to make these!
- muggin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How many people here were listening to the Nine Inch Nails album while viewing these photos and thought it went well with them?
- TomTruelle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0www.disbeug.com
- minabhi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0ofcourse they are photoshopped...this is what the title says...lovely photoshop work
- Livingdead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0These are amazingly amature, photoshop can do so much more, certainly not masters and definatly not pushing any boundries, sorry guys!
- darkmotion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A lot of them use 3d as well, so slightly inaccurate.
A few of those artists post on http://yaymonday.com too. - robschwager, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1These are thought of as being P-shop masters..?!?!!?
Totally pedestrian stuff. What a bunch of crap. - hydrastudio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah the bimbobread and Waist Deep were projects of Hydro74 and he came to Hydra Studio™ to collaborate. At the time Danny Jones (YASLY™) was employed at Hydra Studio™ Both great designers btw.
- ererpl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0really cool stuff!
- kristinpa, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Cool post, that opens me a lot of perfect exemples!
- Zackki, on 11/19/2007, -0/+0Very cool stuff! nice post.
