- dbxz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26the best advice i can give is to pretend adsense is not even there and focus on making your website helpful and useful. You'll notice things tend to work out far better that way than to try to use keywords in your content or what ever...
- 52Cards, on 10/11/2007, -8/+1Crap Stickz!
- themoose, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@aJew
This isn't meant for people looking at ads, it's meant for people running sites who'll have ads on them. Nobody cares if you have adblock on. The majority of people don't.
- rmccarley, on 10/11/2007, -7/+1Looks great from what I got. And real consistent.
- Falldog, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7A few tips I haven't heard yet. I wonder how well some work for other ad services (I use AdBrite primarily due to the low check amount).

- matthwk, on 10/11/2007, -2/+40Summary of the article: how to trick users into thinking your ads are really content so that they click them. Aaaand a few other common sense tips.
- macabaret, on 10/11/2007, -1/+27Clearly, the most effective ads are the pop-up smilies that scream "OH MY GOD!!1" at you. That or the "you are the visitor #1,000,000!" ads that frantically strobe in a desperate bid for your mouse click until you have a seizure.
- Nurjle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Nope, the most effective ads are the 'PRESS THE FART BUTTON NOW' ones - or at least, they are if my five year old son is on the PC.
- angle45media, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The MOST effective ad campaign would have to be smash the monkey with the sledge hammer and win an free ipod...that always gets me
- KRY4no1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Hmm...interesting, I'm surprised the page which this article is linked to does not employ the techniques for advertising that it discusses.
- bpapa, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Aren't some of these techniques pretty well frowned upon by Google?
- macabaret, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yep! Welcome to Google's Inferno.
http://digg.com/tech_news/Condemned_To_Google_Hell_2 - SweetyCheeks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5No.
Read what they say: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=8443
(I've actually found some amazing site by clicking Google ads) - themoose, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Definately not, they only frown upon accidental clicks when it comes to ad placement.
- macabaret, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yep! Welcome to Google's Inferno.
- mediaspree, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I like googles targeting on this particular digg submition, keying off the keyword "Killer" I assume...

- jtorkbob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I dugg you because I want to be the biggest nerd on digg. Thanks.
- fpssledge, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Little known? umm. Maybe I can't speak for everyone, but I assume that anyone who has actually designed a website (a real website, not some myspace type page) knows all this stuff. It's just logic. Ok there was a couple things mentioned that I guess I didn't know about, except they weren't exactly "KILLER TIPS" as the article describes.
- Skatejedi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I'm with fpssledge. Anyone who's into generating even a little bit of extra money from their site probably knows 90% of those tips.
- tuzziel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Hot tip no.1: make a good website
- tomarocco, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Hot tip no. 2: Naked Ladies sell anything.
- stockjones, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Adsense is becoming like the new spam of web pages. If I see it scattered all over your page like one of those old 90's websites with smiley central and win a free mp3 player crap all over it and I'm so not going to check it out
- feralkid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6But can you guess how many people will visit a site like that? Like it or not there is money to be made in placing ads on your page. I know you won't install the smiley central spyware, but lots of people will just click away at shiny things.
- DeathfireD, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5adblock plus killed google ads :(
- nevetS, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Displaying ads all over your page turns off your potential repeat visitors and makes your one time visitors ad-blind. Blending is good - but not to the point where users are tricked into thinking the ads are not ads.
I'd echo some of the other thoughts here and state that if you concentrate on your website, all else will fall into place. If you spend all your time concentrating on increasing your click-through rates by playing with placement, ad targetting, ad filtering, etc. you lose out on the opportunity to do what will make you money - building a quality web site. Instead, spend two or three days every six months or so and review your stats and placement. Change a few things, and if it increases revenue stick with the changes.
Once you have a steady visitor stream and a stable income from adsense start moving on to higher payout revenue streams - paid advertising (direct-to-advertiser), affiliate networks, etc. and use those in conjunction with adsense to maximize the revenue and keep a steady stream of different advertisements.- Hurtyuiop, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Right. If I see ads mixed up with the content, how can I trust the content?
- OBKenobi, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3I did not wish to know that.
- patkirkrick, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Does anyone know what the hell the author was talking about regarding the "F" or "golden F"? Does this mean to make webpages look like my high school report cards?
- astrojith, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Hey, that guy tricked us. This is crap. I mean, I knew this all along. Nothing new. I'm gonna bury this right now. >_
- devila2208, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3This article could really use some pictures to clarify whatever he's talking about.
- slashdotordigg, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0so what did they advertise there? i didn't see any.... did they advertise something to my sub-concious level of my brain. i wonder what i am going to dream tonight...mmmm good burritos....t..taco...taco bell...yeah...i like to order....
- slapthemonkey, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Rather than banking upon adsense, better make a worthy, helpful and useful website.
- Anzat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Blend your ads with your links? BRILLIANT!
- Aaronontheweb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Some great content on there.
Most important, and often overlooked tip they gave: If you have content, eventually the links will come. Don't give up, keep on writing. - Diggingspoon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Generic tips no better than google's FAQs and "common sense". Buried as lame. horribly lame.
- s1ngularity, on 10/14/2007, -0/+0To know more about adsense: adsensic.blogspot.com
- s1ngularity, on 10/14/2007, -0/+0I've found this great site with adsense secrets: adsensic.blogspot.com
- EricGiguere, on 01/25/2008, -0/+1A good set of tips, though I wouldn't say they're "killer" tips that no one knows. The ad blending is key, as is the ad placement. And yes, writing about the right kind of thing is key. But perhaps the most important point he makes is the one about the business model, how you really need more than one site to make real money. See my post http://www.memwg.com/the-adsense-crapshoot/ about the only two really viable AdSense business models. (If you're treating AdSense as a business.)
- imblogger, on 07/01/2008, -0/+0I agree with eric I will include your blog in my adsense bookmark site www.blogalligator.com first site which have all bookmarks for adsense
