15x15 - Your chance to be famous
15x15.org — Using Warhol's "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes" statement as a premise, 15x15 advances the statement into the 21st century; with new media technology anyone and and everyone can be world famous... for 15 seconds.

- kramit, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1how odd...
- headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Having a video of yourself on a some website doesn't make you famous, and that pretty much destroys the premise behind the site.
- Bdog2g2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Have u ever heard of the star wars kid?
- keesj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4the what?
- bede, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I don't think anyone will get famous this way, but dugg for the serendipity. Quite calming to watch.
- MightyGiant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I love simple websites like these. It's a nice change of pace.
- DougTanner, on 10/12/2007, -20/+7Make me famous by modding up this comment!
- scottybowl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6i bet lincoln university are loving the fact that their server is being knocked down by this!

> and and
> everyone can be world famous
Does stuttering help you get famous? (Not to be a typo Nazi, but I wonder how many people spot that typo.)- heeerrresjonny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10dude, so he typed 'and' twice...big whoop I don't need someone to comment and bring it to my attention I can read...
- kubudubudubuntu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8anyone famous yet? =)
- iSlayer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Isnt warhol also the name used for microsofts next youtube "killer"
- naich, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10What is it with being famous? Why do so many people crave fame? I just can't see it. I'd much rather be rich and obscure.
- Xoligy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Some people are attention seekers and thrive off the attention achieved with fame. Others just want to say "Look mum! I'm famous!".
- betobeto, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Almost everyone craves to be famous until they actually become famous. Then it's all the opposite.
- dork101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Already killed by digg. I guess I won't get to be famous.
- akira117, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I guess I won't be famous..... :(
- Xoligy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You're not original either.
- MarkByers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm not original either. :)
- stuvss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nicely Killed by digg in a very short time...
- Chaoticmass, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Looks like the server was famous for about 15 seconds.
- marill, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0Too bad that Warhol never said this and thus this website(15x15) is misnamed. Andy made a similar statement but actually said "5" seconds. Anyone for 5x5? LOL
- liquidizer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Do you have a source for that please? He is so widely quoted as saying everybody would have 15 minutes of fame (including http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/15_minutes_of_fame), I'd be interested in knowing sources that dispute this.
- marill, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Why should I have to prove this reality. Rather, you should prove what you say is "so widely quoted" as being the truth -- i.e., don't always believe the media or other "widely quoted" sources, it frequently gets it wrong and then our "History" becomes a "believed to be" mess. Take Iraq for instance...
- heinousjay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You don't understand how proof works, do you?
You were challenged, and a source was cited that contradicts your claim. You, on the other hand, have done nothing but rant about George Bush and be mildly insulting.
Objectively, you look wrong. And I bet you still can't come up with a single citation that backs you up.
This is really how history gets it wrong - people who have faulty memories insist on things that weren't actually true. - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2either Marill is just trying to wind you up, or he/she is a complete idiot.
Aside from the fact that Andy was quoted in multiple publications as saying the original quote about 15 minutes of fame, and even came up with several variations on it later, for fun, there's the fact that he had a show on MTV called "Andy Warhol's 15 Minutes."
- heinousjay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You don't understand how proof works, do you?
- Mace37, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2haha, the digg effect ruins the internet. Digg should have a national google day or something where everyone tries to ping google to death.
- JakeMcMahon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9That's called DDoSing you 12 year old.
- klownkiller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2but would it work.....? *sinister grin*
- DejaVisite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Digg effect after only 280 diggs? We should start rating websites by how many diggs they can withstand.
- cooltom2006, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And still people have still dugg it to 359, they must have waited ages to get on the site!!
But, I'm not, if I can't read it, I can't Digg it. That should become Digg's moto or something!
- cooltom2006, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And still people have still dugg it to 359, they must have waited ages to get on the site!!
- johnlark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Please! Just a knock off of http://www.world15.com/ - they did a much better job. slow as Malaises'..
- johnlark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah!
- dmbuzz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Saw this site too - same concept but not really about fame as much as giving someone 24 hours to pimp anything - http://www.myoneday.com
- ambiversive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My video will have me saying "The geneva conventions are not quaint nor obsolete."
