tutorialblog.org — "Part 3 of our code snippets series takes a look at more handy pieces of html, ajax and css that you can incorporate into your web designs."
- 1999 diggs
- digg it
- drewhenson, on 10/12/2007, -26/+12oh wow another list and look its getting dugg. digg, when will you learn?
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -3/+19Please, ask in the form of a list. I'll get back to you when it makes the front page.
- hmaugans, on 10/12/2007, -1/+65I hate it when I write a nice post on creating sliding divs:
http://digg.com/programming/How_to_Create_Digg_Comment_Style_Sliding_DIVs_with_Javascript_and_CSS
to which someone comes along, spends 5 minutes tweaking it, and resubmits a follow-up post:
http://digg.com/programming/Re_How_to_Create_Digg_Comment_Style_Sliding_DIVs_with_Javascript_and_CSS
and gets credit for it.
Don't get me wrong, I encourage others to improve on my code, that's great, but multiple articles such as this post are linking to his follow-up and giving me no credit, it starts to bother me a bit. - theaftercrash, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I find lists to be one of the easiest ways to take in information online, as opposed to a long, drawn out article in two or three huge blocks of text.
- utkwes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@hmaugans: He's obviously going to reference the better one, Firblitz mentions you...
- firblitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@hmaugans: TBH, I didn't use one character of your code. I rewrote it from scratch, using some code I had written previously for resizing a div.
- aussieaubs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6if anything its a handy reference point for me to use later... dugg
- onlyafterdark, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6i like lists
- Ryan001, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4This is just more regurgitated blog-spam. Marked as lame. Honestly I think 90% of bloggers should just eat ***** and die.
- CartoonAl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What a coincidence. 90% of bloggers now think you should too.
- dyzlexiK, on 10/12/2007, -3/+131/2 of those arent cross-browser compatible. As well, the "make graphs using only CSS!" is inaccurate, since it has a background image defined.
- jenshik, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Agreed. They also lag like hell, and while they look good, they totally disregard "Form Follows Function!" and "Keep It Simple, Stupid!"....
If I ever develop a website for myself I sure as hell ain't gonna be using anything outta this article.
Buried as LAME.
- jenshik, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Agreed. They also lag like hell, and while they look good, they totally disregard "Form Follows Function!" and "Keep It Simple, Stupid!"....
- drkmirror, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12up next on dig "The most amazing top 15 list of list of lists of...."
- FairlyStupid, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I really thought that http://NobodyReadsYourStupidBlog.com Kooc Media, but i guess i stand corrected. I forgot that all the list blogs are awesome.
- plasticmind, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Yeah, this list pretty much sucks. Not only are several of the techniques not widely supported, but some of them are just plain worthless. A CSS powered badge? Come on, the CSS and HTML take up more filesize than the .gif does.
The front page of Digg is starting to mean less and less to me. - aldomatic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Nice list, but i like the 53 css tips better :o)
- HexagonOne, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I got 404th digg. And I actually laughed out loud. :(
- jordandiggsit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ hmaugans -

If you expand the 'youdev' expanding tag I even give props to you and link to your site!
Sure other people might rip off your work, but some people do remember the original!!!- markr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3doesn't degrade very well when js is switched off, does it? How hard is it to make a link for non-js / no script browsers?
- billybob476, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm sorry but this whole no-JS thing is really over-hyped. If you want to use the web, turn on scripting. Developers should not be required to do double the work because you think someone will hack your machine with Javascript. Scripting isn't going away because a few people run noscript. Deal with it.
- sulaco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@billybob476
Exactly. Don't expect majority treatment when you choose to be in the minority.
- shagie, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5nearly 1000 diggs and not even 20 comments. discuss.
- robbh66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's a list (25!).
It has code snippets!
Web Designers!
