Some of them fooled me into thinking they were not even painted onto hands.- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -2/+193I pioneered this decades ago.

- rEvolution27, on 10/12/2007, -15/+1Nice hands :D
Nice big hands.- undershirt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Big hands, I know you're the one!
- YouKnowWho, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I'm guessing this took incredible airbrushing work. Awesome work.
- jsls, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2that wasn't done with an airbrush, just paint and brush...
- wrenchone, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The Swan and Giraffe are crazy.
- Retuow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11that crocodile is the best!
- royall64, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24orly? I think the owl is best.
- mikewhalley, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I agree, the owl is the best in my opinion. Clever use of shadowing and black background. Plus they disguised the knuckles and the gaps in the fingers really well. Very impressive.
- viva162, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Giraffe FTW!
It looks so real, and the dimension added around the Giraffe's mouth is incredible.
- fordistumley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Dugg for the Elephant alone, although they were all spectacular.
- professorChaos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Agreed the elephant is amazing how the hell did they do the giraffe
- adampolselli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I love how the elephants utilize the hand wrinkles so perfectly.
- ThirdPrize, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33Seriouly, too much time on their hands. Pun intended.
- Desolite, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17Are you being serial?
I'm totally serial. - Crossmenjeff, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4Manbearpig is real
- hatchjr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I gotta Hand it to them...*filed under pun section*
- Desolite, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17Are you being serial?
- Ulvund, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2Best technology post ever
- lolsshea, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Some of these are great, but you can't tell me that "spread eagle" eagle wasn't photoshopped. Look at the length of the thumb compared to the rest of the finger and where's the eagles right foot coming from?
- pero69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12you're making me think these pictures might not be safe for work...
- StevethePirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thats what i thought too, but only because there was no apparent gap or shadow between the thumbs.
- acesomeone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Amazing
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That hawk with it's wing open was ***** cool.
- plhearn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've seen these several times on a commercial for animal planet. They show these paintings in action all the time.
- viva162, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4who watches animal planet?
- tutivlahos, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8plhearn does.
- hatchjr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0@ plhearn
Action?
- Lanie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23I absolutely love this art, but as an artist it greatly upset me that nowhere in this article or the article being linked to was the artist credited. But a quick google search set things right. :)
The artist is Guido Daniele, and he has a lot more body paintings on his web site. Check it out: http://www.guidodaniele.com- BlackDigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks for doing the research.
What pisses me off, is the ad revenue this "blogger" got from the Digg effect. - gatorsrule21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Didn't you hear? Diggers don't click on ads!
- xister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like the blogger stole these pics and put them on their own site-
Cool pics but won't digg it just for that reason...
- BlackDigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks for doing the research.
- MadEnvoy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5While this art is truly "Amazing" it takes a backseat to Hand Job Art.
- je12u, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Think someone could help me paint Jessica Alba's face with her mouth open on my left hand? PPllleeaasseeeee?
- michaelb1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You would be rejected by your own hand.
- Acura666, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Fake!
- kbarrett, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2The crap that makes it to the top of the design section never fails to amaze me.
- zmigliozzi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1thats pretty neat, but... random?
- silouette747, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Creepy very Creepy
- francois87, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1some of them dont look real.. and why the hell would you waste your time on that anyways when it has to come off of your hand anyways.. all that time for a measly picture?
- tagawa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hmm, missed the point slightly, haven't we?
- geeky, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1one word PHOTOSHOP...
oh yeah what's up with the add at the bottom
>"Gay-Friendly Autos" Does your ride reflect your pride? Is your car out of the closet?
Their Mission Statement
Welcome to Gaywheels.com. Our goal is to be the gay-friendly automotive resource. We will achieve that by providing information about gay-friendly automotive companies and facilitating commerce with gay-friendly companies during the entire car-buying process.
Is this ad supposed to be a reflection of the artwork on the page?- xister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No, they put it there just for you sweetie...
- dep01, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3I posted this months ago >:(
- markrubi2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What no blogspam bitches posting a gripe about the google ads...
- zelowlifeaiss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1thats so cool. but i find it funny that the person's hand is shaped like a snake, but they didn't make a painting of a snake. it would have went so perfect. it's really nice though, no doubt
- Galefw, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1They look amazing, they should get close to a camera at like walmart and make it look like its a lion walking around and freak out security
- bradbaxter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah, the should do that, for sure! Idiot.
- Darknitez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is wild... Art in any form is a pleasure to see!!
- steven401, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The owl, elephant and the goose fooled me.
- EmmSee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The angled elephant... amazing.
- heavybackpack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5As Laine said, you should give credit where credit is due. Rather than traffic to a blogger who ripped the images and stuck some adds next to them.
http://www.guidodaniele.com/bodypaint01.htm - monkeyman08854, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Let the ORLY owl jokes commence...
- lorductape, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1GET A LIFE
- dep01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it's not fake, the guy was in Reader's Digest... It left off the fact that he can only do it on himself and his children because he knows their hands so well.
- jmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That last part is absolutely false. I actually worked on two of these photo shoots. The 1st one of the eagle and the giraffe were the shots that I worked on. To do just one shot takes all day. The first half of the day is him painting the image on to someones hand. Not his, a hand model's. And the second half is lighting and positioning the hand just right, with about 100 variations. It's not photoshop.
- Zavod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice. Quite beautiful.
- tjskydive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I'll say it..... PHOTOSHOP!
- patricktu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Amazing. This one looks SO realistic: http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/7376/2321/400/589196/hand_painting_05.jpg
- michaelb1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Can he make one look like a really pretty womans mouth or perhaps female genitalia?
I'm just asking for no particular reason.- je12u, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A little late buddy...see my post above
- Labradane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Someone has way to much time on there hands.
- KillerLettuce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Weren't these on an Animal Planet commercial?
- Dacheatbot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I know what you mean, I saw these back in November on those commercail. I wonder if it's the same guy.
- incubusknight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its indeed the same guy, those are stills of the paintings actually used for the commercials.
- Nudar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm fairly certain this has already found its way to digg before because I've seen these and have no idea who else would have given me the link.
- prophotog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Thanks to jmonkey for bringing this to my attention. I am the photographer that he worked with on the two mentioned images. What pisses me off is that the images are posted without MY permission. There is this little thing called copyright, which I hold on those two images. It looks as though they were taken from the hand painters site ( Guido Daniele ).
Anyhow, for those of you who are interested in the process, those two images are part of a three ad campaign. We spent an entire day casting, probably over 100 models came to the studio. We then chose the three models whose hands we ( me, the art director and the hand painting artist ) thought would work best. Then the models were booked, one per day, as the hand painting is VERY tedious - 4/6 hours per image. After that, we would go on set, where the lighting was already blocked in, then start shooting. We also shot variations of differnt brown leathers that will be dropped in behind the hands in place of the brown seamlesss paper.- usproblogger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1prophotog just thought to mention, this is not my blog. I got link from other SN site
- whitevoid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I just can't get the philosophy here, at digg.com :).
I've posted this link 7 days ago ( http://digg.com/design/What_hands_can_do ), but it is not so popular as this one. Why is it so :)?
