- sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -23/+9it is unbelievable how bad looking the site that links to 745 free blog themes looks!
-http://www.skattertech.com - vanlandw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3in firefox the right side of the page didn't render correctly for me :-[
good resource for wordpress'ers looking for a place to start with a look and feel for their website though- honeybun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0me either -- although the whole rest of the site looks fine...weird.
agree that it's a great resource for wordpress bloggers regardless - vixenk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No wonder considering the page has 569 validation errors. :S
- fyre2012, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2title should read:
"How Not to Blog, Making your website browser dependant!"
- honeybun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0me either -- although the whole rest of the site looks fine...weird.
- patik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It would be nice if there were thumbnails or they were somehow categorized. It's kind of hard to go through 745 options with no browsing guidance.
- adam123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Half the ones i clicked were 404s :/
- SirThom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just installed WordPress for the first time and was looking for themes when I saw this. Perfect timing!
- ioudasomnis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3While this a handy tool, I agree with patik. There needs to be thumbnails or something.
- gaimlover, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wish these could work with WP.com. I CANT USE ANY :'-(.
- thepowerofed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1These can pretty much be found on the codex at:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes/Theme_List- sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5here is a site that offers thumbnails and previews of each theme http://themes.wordpress.net/
- denise23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The codex is great but doesn't have nearly as many themes as are listed at this resource
And the themeviewer site pointed out by sahaskatta is AWESOME -- but it only covers 448 themes -- there are 300 additional themes listed on this theme list so it's nice to know they exist and where to get them.
I do wish there were screenshots, but I still appreciate having direct links to the theme author's sites (where a preview is usually displayed, anyway) so I know I'm getting the most updated version of the theme
Cool site, too - great blogging tips!
- munkt0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1now why would I take theme advice from someone that can't even get their own layout right?
- Pentarix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I found a theme I've modified listed there, Abstrakt. It's pretty decent, easy to customize.
- ghelton, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1just get K2 and customize it yourself, it has the best features and it is simple.
- koshak, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Just what the internet needs. A post ENCOURAGING people to blog. Becuase we all know that everyone wants to read the diaries of nobodies.
- hexxenn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0No want wants to read your comments either, Mr. Nobody.
- Minos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What's comprehensive about that list? Because it's organized by number and title? Anywho...
When I did try out WP, I didn't like it. I could never get used to the restrictions. Then again, when I did try it, I didn't have access to a big list of themes to make it personal.
But it's too late, I enjoy having complete control over my site. And learning CSS and PHP isn't all that hard.- honeybun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0er - isn't what's comprehensive about it is simply the fact that it lists all the freely available wordpress themes?
- matx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a blog, but i dont exacly write about my boring life. I been using mine to post programming projects, should be a useful archive for when I get a job one day and show how much better i be getting in the future. To be fair, I dont even care if I dont get many visitors. A lot of blogs are really boring when people just write things that are quite worthless, but o well, if thats what makes them happy ;)
Some of them themes look nice. - tek1024, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's a resource, folks, she's not giving advice or trying to charge you for it. It's comprehensive because it's practically all the WordPress themes EVER that are compatible with WP1.5 . Yes, she could use some design help herself, perhaps, and yes, she hasn't enabled some nice Web 2.0 Ajaxified thumbnail viewer, but it's offered simply as a list. If you don't like it, don't digg it; but don't complain about it not being something that the author hasn't intended.
- dfwgreg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great list . . . . . If only someone would make one for Drupal themes
- shindig111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0drupal sucks in my book
- CharlesDarwin, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Seriously, this is ***** lame! Too bad magichappens' mamma didn't swallow him.
- COlson87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes! My two themes got in there! Woo. Too bad you can't easily go through all of them or have a quick preview. Kind of a pointless project if you ask me.
- magichappens, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yes, the theme the site is currently using (semiologic) is not rendering this particular post (and only this particular post) correctly in Firefox (my preferred browser). It does render properly in IE, but I still wouldn't recommend using IE.
If you browse the site, you'll see that every other post, page, category, etc, renders properly with Firefox. It is highly unfortunate (and weird) that this particular post renders improperly since it is a post on themes.
Nonetheless, it is a great list of tons of wordpress themes - has way more than the codex or any of the other theme sites (which usually have 500 at most vs 745 and growing), and while the other sites may offer more features like thumbnails, etc, this post is simply what it says it is -- the most comprehensive list of wordpress themes out there. Doesn't claim to be anything other than that. The whole blog itself pretty damn informative, too. - HaltingPoint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anybody have a big list of themes for Blogger blogs? My page is stuck with the same stupid one, and while I tried saving his graphics to my harddrive (to get the size specs) and editing to create my own....for some reason when I link to mine they get all squished and distorted...
- cthulhu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I usually install this type of software just to check it out, then delete it after about a week. Not much for blogging myself.
Here's a nice, simple theme I just ran across: http://www.hackslash.net/?p=9 - barryfandango, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Over 745+ themes! So... at least 747 themes?
- johnpthomas278, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice list....but It would be a lot easier if there were thumbnails. Check here for more themes:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes#Get_New_Themes - shindig111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have created two themes as well... Check it out...

- lesliewong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This site, Theme Viewer, http://themes.wordpress.net/ has thumbnail, filmstrip and slideshow views and is searchable.
