Master photoshopper makes futuristic flying cars watch!
a.viary.com — At Aviary, we like to ask the hard-hitting questions most journalists shy away from. Most importantly: We can put man on the moon, but we don't have frigging flying cars yet?! Luckily, we don't just identify the problems - we also solve them.

- eyloni, on 03/13/2008, -10/+3Wait. Do they run on biofuel???
- badjoke, on 03/13/2008, -1/+6They run on the hopes and dreams of small children. Unfortunately they die during the process. :(
- enivid, on 03/13/2008, -0/+5Nah, if these were made by the "you suck at photoshop guy" they probably run on low self esteem and bitterness.
- jemka, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Wtf is the purpose of that front wheel?
- Yuong, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1LOL. I was thinking about that too
- ksong12, on 03/13/2008, -7/+3No, I believe that they run on futuristic hydrogen fuel cells.
This message has been sponsored by Virgin America and brought to you by airport limousine service. - SolReka, on 03/13/2008, -10/+3biofuel is not a viable alternative energy source ref large amounts of land needed. Non-sustainable
However flying cars are very real.
Check out moller.com- Andross, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1Yeah, if you're using corn as a feedstock, algae bio-reactors could solve this if we can find a better oil/sugar producing algae
- johnbrogersjr, on 03/13/2008, -5/+2These cars are the stuff of dreams. Agreed on the biofuel front, but there is nothing wrong with any solution that points in the right direction. It will all come out good in the end if we all keep trying this hard....especially when the design is this much fun.
- Clark3934, on 03/13/2008, -1/+96Not photoshop... but aviary.
- mossblaser, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2So many recent "ZOMG PHOTOSHOP *GOD*" on digg have been this. Its an impressive looking tool.
- MutatedNantuko, on 03/13/2008, -4/+50Those "cars" look like trash.
- ClevelandBrown, on 03/14/2008, -1/+1Agreed.
- ZachSka87, on 03/14/2008, -1/+1That's what the "Thumbs Up" button is for.
- ClevelandBrown, on 03/14/2008, -1/+1Agreed.
- foxhaze, on 03/13/2008, -13/+3Photoshop'd.
- LiquidIse, on 03/13/2008, -0/+5Close
- Lephtovermeet, on 03/13/2008, -2/+44What's with the shopping cart wheel?
- DiggzDE, on 03/13/2008, -1/+3Thing would look much better without it. As it is, the cut out job on the wheel is amateur at best.
- misterpony, on 03/13/2008, -2/+16I thought there'd be more than just 2 pics...
- iderdik, on 03/13/2008, -5/+0There's a link at the bottom of the article to dozens of pics at worth1000.com
- CTK14A, on 03/13/2008, -5/+3Dugg for the funk.
- justindrake, on 03/13/2008, -1/+1really cool stuff
- MajorLeague, on 03/13/2008, -4/+50Diggers have a hard time grasping Aviary is not photoshop.
- Frost9999, on 03/13/2008, -0/+9Even when an aviary vid makes onto the front page every few days.
- Accolade1, on 03/13/2008, -4/+5I was hoping for a "You Suck at Photoshop" vid.
- dshPls, on 03/13/2008, -3/+2The end result of these fits that definition.
- staeiou, on 03/13/2008, -0/+7Why don't we have flying cars? It isn't a technological problem, it is a societal one. Look at the number of car wrecks that happen each day on ordinary roads. Now imagine what would happen if all those drivers had to navigate in another dimension (height) at speeds anywhere from 100mph to 400mph. And how would you coordinate traffic?
- psykiv, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1Imagine police high speed car chases. They'd probably just send an F-16 to shoot you down.
Also, imagine all the complications with the FAA.- xaxxon, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1They could do that now, though. It would just be a bomb instead.
- zantos420, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1i don't think you could... but it definitely makes me think of "The Fifth Element" traffic chase when the chick first falls into bruce willis' cab
- xaxxon, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1We don't have flying cars because they are VERY inefficient. The only way to fly efficiently is like an airplane which needs a runway and very high speeds. VTOLs and things like the osprey are very fragile and difficult to fly.. and when in vertical thrust mode, extremely inefficient. Harriers have to have water holds to cool their engines while in hover mode and can only do it for very short periods of time.
- psykiv, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1Imagine police high speed car chases. They'd probably just send an F-16 to shoot you down.
- louiebaur, on 03/13/2008, -2/+6Nice front wheel
- lazlonger, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1actually the front wheel is the worst part....or maybe that's what you meant. it should have been.
- HiKevinRose, on 03/13/2008, -3/+8Where the hell is the propulsion? Putting a car in the air does NOT make it a flying car. /facepalm
- iderdik, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3Obviously, the ion impulse engines are under the front wheel cowlings.
- HiKevinRose, on 03/13/2008, -1/+3If it's a future car, show me the future propulsion. Otherwise it's just a falling car.
- iderdik, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3Obviously, the ion impulse engines are under the front wheel cowlings.
- imnojezus, on 03/13/2008, -2/+5Interesting idea... but you might be overstepping with the "Master" title. My cat could knock out a motorcycle wheel better than that.
- painting, on 03/13/2008, -1/+9thats not photoshop. That Aviary.
- sagat, on 03/13/2008, -2/+20Buried for being incorrect. AVIARY!
- sintaks, on 03/13/2008, -1/+7Aviary ftw. The point is to demonstrate Aviary's abilities. Basically, these are example of "bad Photoshops"/"good Aviarys".
- famous58, on 03/13/2008, -3/+2Actually, Meowza is one of the BEST photoshoppers I have ever known. Go to worth1000.com and see for yourself...
- ThatEvilGuy, on 03/13/2008, -0/+11The car actually looked pretty good, but he ruined it with that motorcycle tire in front, WTF was the point of that?
- sammydeath, on 03/13/2008, -1/+3whacking bits of different cars and bikes onto an original photo of a car is hardly solving the problem of why we dont have flying cars yet.
That motorbike wheel at the front is soo stupid. - craighoxton, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3No Spinners from Blade Runner? All those moments, lost...
- dOOBiEx213, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1It's hard enough as it is with the retards that are out on the road now. No, there won't be any "flying cars"... let's just forget this subject and anything related.
- darkmotion, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2These are not even all that great..
The cutout job on the front tire of the first one is hideous. - samsam123, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3ahem.... where were going we don't need roads
- jazzcat251, on 03/13/2008, -2/+9Omg diggers, it's a demo of slick, fun retouching with an up-and-coming kickass webapp.
Not a study on the engineering or social concerns of flying cars, nor of the fuel that propels them.
Yeesh.- xaxxon, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Seriously.
- Banshie, on 03/13/2008, -2/+3Idiotic. buried.
- RustyJ, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1So how do you drive lavatron?
- gitarnestas, on 03/13/2008, -2/+1He doesn't suck at Photoshop. That's for sure.
- plasticgonads, on 03/14/2008, -0/+2it's not photoshop, it's aviary. /facepalm
- GreatBambino, on 03/13/2008, -1/+1looks dumb.
- Just, on 03/13/2008, -1/+2Looks like crap !!
- Kenzan, on 03/13/2008, -1/+1This is awesome!
Now all we need is a way to 'shop those pesky physics of Aerodynamics, and it's Jetson-city! - rssolo23, on 03/13/2008, -0/+11"Master Photoshopper..." wtf?
- DeadFrost, on 03/13/2008, -0/+5You didnt know? He stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night...
- deinosmos, on 03/13/2008, -1/+0Best ever. It is like being made love to into my eye socket.
- serif69, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2This can be arranged.
- alpha94, on 03/13/2008, -1/+5This is weak.
- jetblackz4, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1I like the Jetsons car more
- gooddealsman, on 03/13/2008, -1/+0Overall its pretty cool. It could use some work though. The front bike tire is jaggedy, and still has a white border. Also, how does the big dome work with the car door? The whole glass bubble is going to have lift up for the person to get it. Or duck down when the door opens.
- annflower, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1first car is pretty nice
- SHv2, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2first comment is golden:
"Posted by Zach LeBar on 2008-03-12 20:38:44
really cool stuff guys. um...just a sidepoint, u have some big typos in your intro paragraph. just thought ud like to kno. keep up the great work though guys!"- serif69, on 03/13/2008, -1/+2Inexplicable juxtaposition of "kno" and "though" FTW
- fcrow, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3Buried for calling someone a photoshopper while that person uses Aviary tools. Whatever happend to calling people designers?
- jaxomlotus, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3The last article I submitted where I said it was "NOT photoshopped" everyone buried me for exactly this reason... I can't win. :)
- fcrow, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2Don't give up :)
- jaxomlotus, on 03/13/2008, -0/+3The last article I submitted where I said it was "NOT photoshopped" everyone buried me for exactly this reason... I can't win. :)
- jokeoftheday, on 03/13/2008, -2/+0That is so super cool... I have used photoshop since I was a kid, love it... I remember popular mechanics making their rendition of the flying car in 1990, but this is way better hahaha. Hey, weren't we all supposed to have one by 1995??
- albokid, on 03/13/2008, -0/+2why five wheels?!
- xaxxon, on 03/13/2008, -0/+1Yeah that fifth wheel was really a third wheel.
- jdorenbush, on 03/13/2008, -5/+1Buried. He is not a master and its not Photoshop. The final product doesn't even look that great. I see a lot of flaws.
- kneelB4zod, on 03/13/2008, -1/+1pish
- smrekar, on 03/13/2008, -1/+4pretty freakin amazing. I work in photoshop all day long, but to do this in aviary impresses me. Sure there are flaws, but who cares, this is a huge testimony to online programs.
- chrisbuongiorno, on 03/13/2008, -2/+0i wouldn't go so far as to say 'master'
- ASLICE888, on 03/13/2008, -1/+2Do we really need flying cars? People drive crappy enough on roads, imagine how awful flaming wreckage from the skies will be. I still want one.
- buddyfarr, on 03/13/2008, -2/+0"Luckily, we don't just identify the problems - we also solve them."
wow, you can solve the problem by just drawing a picture of it..then my picture of a healthy human cell will cure cancer!!!! - randomm, on 03/13/2008, -2/+1And it's jaxomlotus' second aviary front page story in 2 days. The first one was ***** (pun definitely intended) and this one is also lame. Methinks spam. Help me bury.
