For instance, MFM's The Block Hotels, located in Lake Tahoe and Bear Mountain are designed by snowboarders and the companies that sell snowboard gear (many of which are start-ups created by snowboarders)...

  • mbraynard, on 02/19/2008, -0/+3None of these are as cool as the rooms as Dream in NYC. Everything is super-modern and bathed in a blue light. My favorite place to stay in NYC - especially with a girl.

    I stayed there (in the Jet Martinez room). The hotel is quite cool as well as they bring in art exhibits which are displayed in the hallways and lobby and are occasionally rotated. Price is good too.

  • Gemfinder, on 02/19/2008, -0/+2Yeeks! Half of those rooms I couldn't sleep in if you hit me with Demerol. I hate hipster colour palettes...it's like the '70s, everything was avocado green, harvest gold and burnt orange. Except now it's lime green, pink and BLAZE ORANGE!!
