- canewediggit, on 10/12/2007, -15/+3thanks! was just looking for a designer. this will come in handy.

- geekitechture, on 10/12/2007, -32/+4>CSSZenGarden is one of the first in it's class and showcases talent through customizing stylesheets to fit the site's design.
Why would anyone want to create CSS that fits "the site's design?" How is that contributing to any originality on the Web or expressing your own personality through your site's design?
That said (and God how I hate CSSZen Garden) the rest of the list is a good resource for CSS. If not for the unfortunate reference to CSSZenGarden I would Digg it.- Promantarius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Do you have any particular current reason for hating CSSZenGarden or is it something they've made better already? Blind hatred of something isn't good, and I don't see what's so bad about the site (apart from the horrid user submissions of course, that theatre one was horrible.) You can't have everything, if you liked the rest of the article you could just digg it then comment and point out the flaws in CSSZenGarden instead of just saying the equivalent of "it sucks."
- essjay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I think you've got a fundamental misunderstanding of how CSSZenGarden is supposed to work. They have a perfectly semantic web page that you have to style using pure CSS. By fitting the design, I assume they mean fitting the design of_the_data, which is what _all_ good web designs should do. You don't design a site's layout and then try and fit the data in it, you do it the other way round. Wake up and smell the content - style separation.
- dylanparry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@essjay:
Actually they don't have a "perfectly sematic web page". What they have is a page that, at first glance, appears to be semantically marked-up, but on closer inspection is littered with redundant span elements that were added in purely for the use of CSS and don't add any semantic meaning. For example, every paragraph has a span element enclosing the text content, instead of being used for its intended purpose (ie. marking up *bits* of text that have a different meaning to the rest of the content, such as highlighting a real name etc).
That said, there are some lovely designs on CSSZenGarden, but I wouldn't recommend copying their HTML code.
- tobbe303, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I realize this is a list of sites producing their own content, but I've just got to mention http://www.fascination.se/ for those looking for web-related inspiration - it aggregates info from well known sites and gives you a quick overview over what's happening in the CSS/design/mark-up world right now.
- q3ctf4, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Great List. There are some real gems in there.
- statix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wait. these guys showcased sites that showcase other sites? pretty soon well need a site that showcases sites that showcases other css showcasers...
- onkelcommy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Nice list but also check out http://www.screenalicious.com with more than 5400 screen shots of very nice web designs.
- MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7You can have it much easier:

CSS Showcase is a CSS showcase site for CSS showcase sites.- iluvhatemail, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3seriously, this is like having a top 10 list of top 10 lists. The link MrSunshine provided typically ends up in the comments of every story related to css websites. Most of them are nearly identical now anyways.
- CRasH180, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thank you to the three other comments, from onkelcommy, tobbe303, and MrSunshine, with some alternative sites. One person's top ten is another person's worst ten. I look at all sites for the content and the usefulness of the information.
- Coronagold, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Whoop-de-*****-doo. I've seen advertisements more interesting than those sites.
- Tredici, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'm a big fan of Web Creme, specifically its filter by color usage option. I'm surprised to've not seen it high in the list, let alone even in it.
- goosnargh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Same here. Would be good to see the other sites add the colour filter, maybe even improve on it.

- kirsten99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What I like to see are sites that have thumbnails in their RSS feed with a single click to a working site. This makes it much easier to scan sites of interest. A number of sites don't have any thumbnail in the feed, first click gets you to the gallery site and then another click gets you to the actual site.
- Alexx3k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hehe one of my websites is in one of those screenshots (on cssremix) =D
CSS galleries are an endless source of inspiration - the only downside of them is that they sometimes inspire designers all into a similar direction - which sometimes you can see with various blog layouts. - castroalves, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A list with 50 css galleries: http://digg.com/design/50_CSS_Showcase_Websites
- IceFury, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There is also www.e-motionaldesign.com - in my opinion better than many others from the list...
