- Bukowsky, on 07/22/2008, -0/+21Freelance Web Development work has always proved very profitable to me. Whenever I have a spare time, I'll surf around on Craigslist looking for people needing work done. Most of the time, it's a very small website you can pretty much throw together within a few days, and then collect a big paycheck!
- ironeus, on 08/01/2008, -0/+18definitely tons of perks: the best is the simplest: work in sweatpants and a tshirt on your own time and probably rake in a greater hourly rate.
- piterwilson, on 07/22/2008, -0/+22getting a quickie at work is a lot easier as a freelancer :)
- psogle, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5And it doesn't even have to be quick!
- darkchild82, on 07/22/2008, -0/+18# 13. No awkward performance reviews - oh, how I'd love NOT to go through those suck-up sessions
- thewordisberry, on 07/22/2008, -0/+16I am all for freelancing. It's great for extra cash but it's also a good way to build relationships and be creative.
- gles, on 07/23/2008, -0/+12Great list with many points to which I can relate, especially #30... "You're not stuck with Crazy for the next 30 years." Or, at least, Crazy can be kept at bay via email.... :)
- rjdejong, on 07/23/2008, -0/+12If your red stapler gets stolen, the list of suspects is significantly shorter
That one definitly turned me :P - cuzzy, on 07/23/2008, -0/+8it is the only way to go, I wish I did it sooner.
- zen53, on 07/23/2008, -1/+14Freelancing is not for everyone! first day of freelancing 10mins digging, 2nd day 30mins! 7th day 2hrs digging, redditing, blogging, friendfeeding, twittering - work output = 0!
You got to have focus! - jonxblaze, on 07/23/2008, -0/+11I love freelancing..I just hate dealing with crazy ass clients.
- desi_fubu, on 07/23/2008, -0/+6w00t
- MacBookForMe, on 07/23/2008, -0/+3but, you need to know very clearly what do you want to achieve, first
- AmyVernon, on 07/23/2008, -0/+4if i could get reasonably priced health insurance as a freelancer, i'd be all for it. but being the familybreadwinner, it's not a viable option for me at this point...
- carguy25, on 07/23/2008, -0/+5The way of the future?
- psogle, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2Totally. Don't see much of a reason for many people to be at work.
- bamafun, on 07/23/2008, -0/+5outsourcing/freelancing is the way to go - much easier than having employees anyday ! and more work gets done overall !
- waggdogg, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2I'm sort of a freelancer. I install kitchen cabinets for major cabinet companies. I give them a price to install the cabinets and they sell my labor. I am happy with what I do and making good money.
- RyanElston, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1That's an independent contractor right? Is their a difference?
- MommaLu, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Freelancers specialize and that makes them great at what they do.
- dwightyork, on 07/29/2008, -0/+0Freelancing is great, but not for everyone. You need great mental strength to handle the rocky financial road. But of course the rewards can be awesome.
- m3mn0n, on 08/08/2008, -0/+1This has to be the first "normal" comment thread I've ever seen on digg.
