- ctrlfreak13, on 10/10/2007, -0/+47Can't download it yet, the developer only has the video and then a research paper. I'm sure he'll make hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars off this technology by selling it to Adobe or the like... link to developer's site: http://www.faculty.idc.ac.il/arik/
- themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10That's awesome
- brundlefly76, on 10/10/2007, -0/+44lol why is it on CollegeHumor.com?

- MrSidnet, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2brundle, i checked google, and all the video sites are buzzing with this video.
- bysin, on 10/10/2007, -6/+103It would be nice if adobe bought that up and added it to photoshop.
- screwzluse, on 10/10/2007, -14/+2What good would that be in Photoshop? I would think it'd be more effective as a plugin for web browsers or something. I mean, embedding the shown area plugin would be the only thing worth having in PS.
- ryodoan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Hell, why not both?
- GawtMilk, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1It won't be very useful for high-resolution images that you need to print in magazines, so inclusion in Photoshop isn't likely. However, it would be very good for the "first step" of removing something from an image...although Photoshop has layers and the clone tool for the reason...those two combinations are able to do everything this program can.
- Walory, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4But not nearly as quickly or effortlessly. The clone tool is nice, but if you don't understand how masks and layers can be used together to seamlessly delete or add background, you will not be able to do what this program offers.
- WhiteIce89, on 10/10/2007, -14/+2This technology would've been great ten years ago. Today it's kinda useless, 21+ inch widescreen monitors can be bought for as little as 150 bucks.
- cairo140, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6The goal of the video was to provide dynamic intelligent resizing. Even with 21+ inch monitors, nobody can expect images to take up the entire screen. And don't forget about smaller or handheld screens.
- burkay, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It is not about fitting images into screen, it is about fitting images into layouts. You could be displaying 100 thumbnails on your screen at once for some application, this technique makes it possible to create intelligent thumbnails in that case. And there are a million more uses of this that I can think of.
- ahawks, on 10/10/2007, -1/+31***** "buying it up"
This technology needs to be widespread, not exclusive to some $1,000 bundle of professional software.- alexdemers, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1torrents notsoez?
- chrisbarr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It needs to be in both places really. I'm legally own Photoshop and will from now on, and this is a feature I really could see being useful. But in the same way, it's nice to have the ability to do this outside of Photoshop for those who don't own a copy and for the times when you don't want to load it up just to resize a picture.
Adobe does need to jump on this though.
- Renton, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21It would be even nicer if it became open source.

- p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9Why? Not that I love College Humor, just curious why you hate them.
- jron, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14The entire concept of the site is exploitive. They rip off anything remotely funny or interesting and attempt to profit off of it by throwing hundreds of banner ads in one's face. Moreover, this video isn't humorous at all; I seriously doubt that the vast majority of college students would find this video "amazing" or funny. :P
- Fracture98, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5That's also the definition of "the internet".

- IHaveIssues, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Websense blocks it for one. :-)
- conwayblue, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The main reason I like YouTube over sites like College Humor is the full screen functionality you get at YouTube. Enable full screen and I won't look for another source.
- p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9Why? Not that I love College Humor, just curious why you hate them.
- the_d, on 10/10/2007, -4/+32Stuff like this is why I am majoring in Computer Science.
- PJBovoNox, on 10/10/2007, -8/+4Saying things like that is why you'll never have any friends.
- mrsneakypat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Ironic....
- PJBovoNox, on 10/10/2007, -8/+4Saying things like that is why you'll never have any friends.
- itsinmyeyes, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I'm impressed
- themulf, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I saw that at Siggraph, along with a lot of other great technologies from college students and companies around the world.
- jrhass, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1For anyone who is interested, this algorithm is from the paper called "Seam Carving for Content-Aware Image Resizing".
You can probably purchase the presentation or the paper via the Siggraph website.

- Jokermx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+27The erase feature is the one that impressed me the most. I can't imagine what I would do with such tool... hehe...
- Regulator980, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30Wow, that was amazing. Aside from the obvious break-up photo erasing at the end, I have to say this has crazy possibilities. As a current graphic design student, I have to say that I would gladly buy this program.
Dugg! - TypeEE, on 10/10/2007, -39/+3Don't let the exciting description fool you even though the title is boring, because it is really boring. No matter how amazing this video is, you can't do the same on your own anyway, what's the point.
- Carsonauto, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22HOLY.*****.
I need this program.- cdemi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1ME.TOO.
- keeperofkeys, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5What you really need is support for this built into browsers, especially on mobiles and other devices with small screens.
- drafhk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10The guy makes it sound surprisingly simple... Adobe, please take note for Photoshop CS 91284
- BevansDesign, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7That's a ridiculous name. They'll come up with a few more abbreviations to tack on before they get to such a high version number.
It'll be something like "iRxPhotoshop CSa+TRUwebExtended 4Beta (ULtraStar Edition)".- burkay, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Isn't it curios that some companies cannot count with integers?

- Moskie, on 10/10/2007, -7/+5That was incredible. Simple matrix operations put to ingenious use.
- r0ar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I would really like to see a full sized image that was resized using this. Downloading the .pdf on his website right now, but its going terribly slow.
- mwdcodeninja, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3out-*****-standing! I will happly mirror the pdf.
- Skanadian, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Wow. I'm stunned, I didn't expect that when I clicked the link.
- posneg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That is a-mazing. Wow. Fantastic.
- Flashman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14You know who would like the object-removal feature? Stalin!
- BlackOp, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I hope he open sources this.
- brad3378, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23NOW THAT is a great way to explain the difference between a computer programmer and a computer scientist. BRILLIANT!!!!!
- byaselli21, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1yup
- preshit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Wonder what the video is doing on Collegehumor ! It deserves to be on Stage6.
- CannedMango, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11This has terrifying implications for media distortion and history retelling. I imagine the media in China will only be able to get their photographs through official government channels.
- keeperofkeys, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2I think you missed the point. Seamless image doctoring has ben possible for a long time with Photoshop etc; the point of this tool is to dynamically remove less important parts of an image due to space constraints. If an evil government decided to pass al photos through this filter, all you'd have to do would be to view it on a large monitor and all the hidden detail would be revealed.
- nickylouse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0It seems that when a photo is shrunk pixels are removed and that re-enlarging the photo would only serve to create artificial imagery.
- CannedMango, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I got the point... the technology is in fact incredible and has a lot of ethical uses... however the photo doctoring that you're mentioning takes time and this method removes that time. Now photos and media can be distorted and a vastly increased rate.
- jimmiss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Interesting idea. It would be simple enough to remove pictures of certain people from all images on the whole Chinese internet now, without removing the images in their entirety.

- ryanonfire, on 10/10/2007, -10/+1amazingly boring
- schmons, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7i can see it now.... people resizing their penises... well actually, maybe i dont want to see it
- ch4os1337, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5THATS ***** AMAZING!
(sombody had to say it) - rauz, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Imagine this function working together with this one:
http://graphics.cs.cmu.edu/projects/scene-completion/ - TopBanana, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Guys - a controlled demo of a prototype, and a fully working application are two very different things! I hope this works out, but don't get too excited yet
- Elliuotatar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6The PDF shows some examples of scenes where the algorithm fails. It works well with people, but failed horribly on an antique car. The algorithm needs scenes where the main subjects don't take up too much of the image.
- sprash, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3I watched this Video three times.
- dheaddy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Holy ***** that's impressive
- ThatEvilGuy, on 10/10/2007, -13/+1Jewish people are simply amazing! very high intellect!
- mookieXL, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Enhance!
- jbestrom, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2JUST PRINT THE DAMN THING ALREADY!!!!
- stevensj2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2This is really brilliant work. It seems so simple and elegant to the layperson, yet is fascinating in a CS/mathematical way.
- EldenChang, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It seems he is filling a need for a new tool that we did not even know we needed until today and now since we dont have it, we are missing it already.
Great work! - HabboX, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That is cool! I'll bet the porn industry can find a use for this tool. They love to make things look bigger!
- mikewhite314, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1did you see how the recommended video was "breast lift"?
- proghead, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I wish i could digg this twice.
how much does anyone wanna bet this will be on diggnation?
I can already hear Alex going "Doooooood..." - daridave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2nice, now I can erase my whore-ex out of my pics.
- KIERANMULLEN, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3thats what happens when you get them from trailer parks
- linkin2, on 10/10/2007, -5/+0stupid + unpractical
- pengas, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Fantastic.
The Israeli mind is full of ideas... - bj00rn, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Nice tech indeed, but no current good use IMO. And I wouldn't want that to automatically alter the images on a website. Websites could use aspect lock resizing from time to time, but that tech is already implemented in some browsers if I recall correctly.
- wily6, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Now what can we do about the boring voice?
- dainfagerholm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Amazing app..I never knew I needed this until I watched it...Pretty cool. Adobe is ***** their collective pants.
- daysofgreen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2this is mildly ballin'
- TimeIsTissue, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"I wonder if that's how the narrator really talks".
-Some digg user, from around a week ago. - levyjl1988, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That is ***** amazing, anyone know where can I get this program? Or is it still in the works, anyway DUGG!
TOTALLY AMAZING! Wow! - xlar54, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Best thing I have ever seen on Digg.
- bobbygeorgina, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I want the download / where to buy link that everyone else seems to want.
Anybody have any luck finding it? - I browsed his site but his servers are getting beat down right now so it is a bit slower than I would like to have to deal with for any longer. - hskalra, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Amazing Computer Science
- Dillywin, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Seems like an excellent idea to save web page space, but what about at an artist standpoint. If i was an artist and i saw my picture on some website slightly morphed and changed from my original picture, I would be pretty pissed. This program has the potential to destroy an artist planning of certain areas of negative space and balance destroy the artist original work.
Nobody likes angry artists.- Vapor17, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1but nobody's scared of angry artists either
- marskid2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Due to the Digg effect, the homepage for Dr. Ariel Shamir is going very slowly. I found another mirror for the full-length paper he wrote about "Seam Carving for Content-Aware Image Resizing" at this link:
