- tom6a, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2Negative Space Buzz has aggressively pursued the copyright on this. Last year someone used this video in a humorous video contest and was hit with a copyright claim. From a report at the time:
"The video has been removed from YouTube. The page now reads, 'This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Negative Space Buzz.' This version of the Battle of Kruger, posted in May by Negative Space Buzz, has over 9 million views and is over 8 minutes long. David was caught off guard by the copyright, 'Oh, that was painful! I had no idea about the copyright! Nor did I have any advanced warning. I checked the stats first thing this morning and noticed I was in first place and then...the hammer. I managed to track down the guy who holds the copyright and I spoke with him over the phone but, alas, he was not open to the idea of me using his video for the contest. I wish all the best to the eventual winner of the contest and to Lending Club. Soli Deo Gloria.'"
Source: http://prosperlending.blogspot.com/2007/08/lending ... - draculthemad, on 07/05/2008, -2/+5If someone asks you to bet on a race between the cheetah and a antelope, bet on the antelope.
The antelope is running for his life, and the cheetah is running for his lunch.
Also, predators have to keep themselves from being injured, or they wont be able to hunt the NEXT time.
Herbivores don't have to worry too much, because the grass doesn't fight back.- proliance, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3You're being dugg down because of the idea that cheetahs are so fast they must always win.
Cheetahs don't always win. In fact they are successful in less than 50% of their attempts, including attacks against small, agile animals that look like they belong in a petting zoo.
Imagine cheetahs to be a high performance interceptor. If they don't make the kill on their first pass, they may not have the fuel for a second attempt.

- exterminador, on 07/05/2008, -0/+1This is a very weird video, because lions have to eat to survive but you also feel sorry for the baby buffalo. After seing this I am a bit confused. Maybe we should just once and for all accept death as a normal thing. Or maybe predators are just doomed, I don't know.
- LaVikinga, on 07/05/2008, -1/+1Don't feel sorry for either of them. They are both in the Top 5 of Africa's most dangerous game and both could kill you in a heart beat if they chose. The summer of 2005, we hunted in Zimbabwe for cape buffalo, among other animals, and it was one of the most heart-pounding experiences of my life. They are smarter than most people realize and if one is not careful, the hunter can become the hunted as was our case. The sight of an enormous trophy cape staring at you from 30 yards looking like you owe him money is intimidating to say the least.
In fact, he's still intimidating hanging on our family room wall.
