- nowsamsara, on 07/05/2008, -0/+1Dugg. I am an advisor to many people so I needed to read this. I share so often with people about being careful of bad advice because often it goes like this... "Samsara, can you help? XYZ told me to do 123 and I did and now I am in trouble." Me:"What the heck does XYZ know about 123 and your history with 456?" ...and on it goes... Here are the 3 main points.
1. A good advisor asks good questions.
2. A good advisor is a good listener.
3. Good advice is not fly-by-night.
I also have to add that I think a superior advisor has *experience* in the realm of what the seeker is needing advice on. After all, what is experience if we cannot turn it into the benefit for another person?
