Rewriting the Legend of Paul Revere

usnews.com — Listen, my children, and you shall hear / Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere." With those words, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, in a poem published in 1861, galloped away with the legend of the Boston silversmith who helped start the Revolutionary War. The poem has only one flaw, historians say: It is inaccurate in almost every way.
