suntimes.com — Seven hundred thousand dollars is a lot of money to spend to try to get someone to talk to you and not get an answer.

- Railer, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Ok I'm not a conspiracy nut but here are some facts.
1. Since the 80's many people in the media have often accused Gore of being "stiff" and "robotic"
2. Unwilling to debate topics openly
3. Unwilling to take "unauthorized" questions
4. Lectures remain identical across campus's despite the evidence to the contrary in scientific papers across the world
I think Al Gore is Really The Greatest Automaton of the twentieth century!
The A.l. G.o.r.e. Model (Autonomous Liberal, Gnu Operating Robotic Entity) That's Right! Al Gore runs on a Linux Kernel!
Long story short, the real Al Gore was "replaced" by a robot in the 80's when Bill Clinton was looking a running mate that he wouldn't have sex with, naturally they could not find any one Bill wouldn't have sex with, but the robot didn't mind as much.
Anyhow over the years the Gore unit has been reprogrammed many times and until recently everything has gone fine. In about 2002 a simple bash shell program locked the unit into an end less For Next Loop, repeating the exact same speech over and over and over again, as of yet no one has been able to kill the script. And since his making $100,000 a loop, no one has really wanted to.
:) Any how it's just a theory - enki25, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Yeah just like Buzz Aldren got his ass handed to him with the "facts" when that lunatic confronted him about the moon landing. There's always going to be idiots out there who want to debate you, but many of them don't understand the difference between facts and opinions. For example, you seem to think that a book written by a guy at a conservative think tank is equivalent to scientific evidence.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2The last time Al Gore debated someone using facts, that someone, in spite of being barely able to complete a sentence, went on to somehow become President. Having facts doesn't seem to hold much sway with the American people.

- aptimass, on 10/10/2007, -6/+10It's funny how the libs are trying to turn this into a moral obligation, thereby circumventing the need for debate. Sure the planet may be getting warmer, and we may have a relatively insignificant part in that, but that is no reason to punish the third world as they struggle to improve the conditions of billions of the world's poor. It actually appears that the extra CO2 is helping us grow more food, funny how plants respond to a little extra CO2.
The debate hasn't even stated.- freecon, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7It's not just the Libs, look what the Neo-cons are saying these days. This carbon tax is being forced on us by both sides.
- BigBlueCarbon, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Big Corn a comin'
- Shigglyboo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6the libs? please. anybody who willingly dons a title of lib/con, etc. is an idiot. how about you use your brain instead of pigeonholing ideas...
- BECoole, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12"Spotted Owl" Gore knows his arguments can't stand the light of day.
- enki25, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2The light of day like the scientific community? Or the light of day like a free republic discussion forum? There's a wide consensus on global warming. Disagree? Find any scientific research that has been published and disagrees with it. Hint: a book making conclusions about research is not itself necessarily research.
- Barbrady, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3There is? If there's such a wide concensus then why do more than half of scientists involved in the debate not agree with Al Gore?
- enki25, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Half the scientists in the scientific community? Post a link to any story that backs up the ***** you just spewed.

- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Why would you want to debate a politician over a scientific issue?
- BigBlueCarbon, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6to tear him a new one
- datastorageguy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9Because he is a politician pretending to be a scientist.
- diggablog, on 10/10/2007, -6/+3I think his failure to debate is very significant. On the other hand, he never claimed to be a scientific expert, but a spokesman for scientists. I don't think he is capable of debating the underlying facts. I think he got shammed, and carried along beyond his understanding.
- BtmnHatesRbn, on 10/10/2007, -6/+7Gore travels via private plane and SUVs everywhere. He owns one of the biggest oil companies in America, and then sits there and blames "big oil"? Then he refuses to debate anybody on his little "rights-removing" waste of film from last year?
He's a nobody in search of wanting to be somebody. Luckily, nobody really gives a damn about him in the whole equation. I been everywhere in the Third World. They don't listen to their governments most of the time, or they're struggling to live, not just survive. If it was up to Gore, we'd live like Logan's Run. - kbedell, on 10/10/2007, -7/+3The Anti global warming propaganda you see and hear is to a great extent funded by millionaires/billionaires who have huge sums of money on the line when it comes to potential government regulation to slow oil consumption or clean up emissions in other areas. The Heritage foundation and others who are funded by billionaires are behind a lot of the media you see.
I'm certain they even fund diggers/stumblers and other social media experts to promote their message here on digg.- rwvalentine, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3where do i sign up?
i'll even go one better than propaganda and do battle with reason.
do you also have a problem w/ billionaires pushing the hysteria who have a lot on the line?
like big corn or big solar or big government?
- rwvalentine, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3where do i sign up?
- kingygk, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Buried for inaccurate title
- twrife, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Why is Deniers in quotes?
- zelig, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Because this is the term Al and the ipcc has chosen to use to denigrate those in disagreement. Al even toyed with the idea of putting them on trial.
