good riddance. there are a lot of possibilities still out there, even though this turns out to be a total money-suck. the promising energy research the DOE can back spans electricity generation (solar PV, wind, etc), energy storage (electric car batteries, hydrogen fuel), and carbon sequestration. no need for this to be a downer - ScienceDoc, on 01/30/2008, -0/+2DOE is a money pit. Lots of engineers that used to make nukes with nothing to do but waste lots of money.
