Freeman Dyson on Global Warming -- Bogus Climate Models watch!
youtube.com — A prominent scientist who's followed the science of global warming from the beginning, Dyson explains why climate models have no scientific merit, why average global ground temperature is a great fiction, and what he believes the real dangers of increased CO2 in the atmosphere are. He suggests that the relatively simple solution of land use mana...

But that doesn't make him an authority on climate change, and indeed much of what he has to say is either inaccureate, improbable, or out and out pie in the sky, hoping for some sort of deus ex machina to pull our asses out of the fire. http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2008 ... , http://climateprogress.org/2007/08/15/freeman-dyso ...
Dyson's vision reminds me of an old joke about a person caught in a flood and sitting on the roof of their house. As the waters rise a neighbour poles up on a raft he has lashed together and says "Hope in". The person thanks him but says "God will save me".
The waters rise some more and a rescue boat comes along. The person thanks them but says "God will save me".
The waters rise some more and a rescue helicopter comes along. The person thanks them but says "God will save me".
The waters rise some more and he drowns. Standing before St Peter he demands "I have been a pious and devout man my whole life, why didn't God save me." St Peter looks him up and down and says "He sent a raft, a boat, and a helicopter, what the hell did you want?"
And that is Dyson, ignoring the solutions we have at hand for some imaginary gilded solution in the future. - Leiff, on 07/18/2008, -0/+2The Common Enemy of Humanity Is Man
In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we suggested that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. The real enemy then is humanity itself.
