Global Warming: Thawing Permafrost holds Vast Carbon Pool
clas.ufl.edu — Permafrost blanketing the northern hemisphere contains more than twice the amount of carbon in the atmosphere, making it a potentially mammoth contributor to global climate change depending on how quickly it thaws.

- greenfyre, on 09/07/2008, -1/+3Yeah, we could sing "Nearer My God To Thee", or we could actually take action as if we were intelligent, mature adults.
- Stevanoski, on 09/07/2008, -5/+2Or use facts and realize man has nothing to do with global warming. It....is....the.....sun.
- greenfyre, on 09/07/2008, -1/+5Here are the facts, again. And no doubt you will have nothing rational to say, again. Just like every other time when you post your vacuous nonsense and then disappear.

Is a lack of sun spots about to cause an ice age? http://www.aussmc.org/Coming_Ice_Age.php
Sun Could Cause 15% To 20% Of Effects Of Climate Change, http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/07/08071 ... - Stevanoski, on 09/07/2008, -2/+1All of your sites have more to do with filling Algore's pockets than anything factual. It...is...the...sun.
One of Sirpoppers past submissions stated for the first time, since science has been watching, there were zero sunspots for all of August. This may well decide the issue. If I am wrong, will submit a personal apology to you. - greenfyre, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1Let's see, your absurd claim or the work of actual scientists which you have not even looked at and think you can dismiss with laughably idiocy about profit for Gore ... which should I believe?

We're *****. We're all *****. Time to drink more heavily. - joach, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1The huge amount of C02 that Ted Schurr's team has found that the permafrost contains is an eerie discovery that adds to the threat of the thawing permafrost. For a few years scientists have known that permafrost spews out methane (a greenhouse gas 20 times more potent than C02) as it thaws: http://www.abc.net.au/science/news/stories/2006/17 ...
To keep the permafrost blanket of the north cool is of out most importance in order not to pass the tipping point where global warming would mushroom completely out of control!
