How to Build A Skateboard Launch Ramp
skateboardpark.com — Building a skateboard launch ramp follows all the basics for building a large scale structure, only it ’s much easier. First you have to decide upon your radius. Ten to Twelve feet is nice for mellow launch ramps and Eight to Ten Feet is better for an all around street quarterpipe.

Sorry for finishing your sentence, but i'm Johan Marcus Guy and i've seen one too many skateboard injuries.
The great majority of these injuries come from people who think they're "cool", but you know what's not cool? skateboard injuries.
I know what you're thinking, "but what if my child (or I, if you're under 24) is addicted to skateboarding due to the peer pressure he (or I, if you're under 24) receives at school?" The simple answer is to redirect that energy to something productive.
My son -- James Marcus Guy -- used to prolifically endanger his life with one of these boards, that is until I encouraged him to seek out a new form of "boarding" and i'm proud to say he now travels the greater Connecticut area building churches with his pastor.
I hope i've been able to inspire you guys to do the right thing, or get the wheel rolling in the right direction.
Trust me, if you follow these steps, you might want to consider building yourself a casket, first.
Thanks for letting me save your life,

- seantubridy, on 08/29/2008, -4/+6Is this joke? Is it the 1950's? What else should not enjoy in life just to stay safe?

- EmitStop, on 08/29/2008, -2/+6Who is that kook on the wall and what the hell is that drawing on his ramp?! A monster or something?
- jasonkeath, on 08/29/2008, -1/+4Nice I always wondered what you used to keep the ramp from tearing apart when the skateboard hit it.. duh sheet metal will work
- TheToecutter, on 08/29/2008, -0/+14When I was a kid it was a cinder block and an old piece of scrap wood from the neighbors garage.
- GeorgeCarlin, on 08/29/2008, -1/+5Cool I used to have a setup similar to this.. Ah the good old days.
- Whitey07, on 08/29/2008, -0/+4Awesome. I wish I was still a kid learning to skate board this would of helped alot.
- Cancerkitty, on 08/29/2008, -1/+4I'd break my neck on this thing, but I'd have a hell of a good time doing it.

- BeatPunchbeef, on 08/29/2008, -1/+6'bout time I dust off the old Roskopp and chop saw.
- jakejeffries, on 08/30/2008, -0/+3Nice! I had a Santa Cruz skull board for some time. Loved that board.

- PabloIV, on 08/29/2008, -0/+3When I was in my early teens we used to build these things during the rollerblading craze.
It was awesome fun, and a great way to get practice on real tools. - borez, on 08/29/2008, -2/+4Digg needs a junior digg section

- diggtochina, on 08/29/2008, -0/+3sweet. i cant wait to see some digg ***** bust his face on youtube after building this thing
- algaeturd, on 08/29/2008, -1/+4Take no offense to this but if you need blueprints to build a ***** kicker ramp, sell your toolbox and all your tools. It's basically 2 templates (one template traced so you really just need a single drawn transition), literally an armful of 2" x 4"s, a sheet of plywood for the front and that's it. I made many of them when I was about 12 years old sans plans.
You could hand this list to a monkey and a monkey would get close to building it.
I mean, great...blueprints for a ramp. On the front of digg. If you're a skater who would actually USE this ramp, you'd know how to make it already. It's more elementary than the most basic shop class. - audomatix, on 08/30/2008, -0/+3followed by how to bust your ass....
- specialbuddy1, on 08/30/2008, -0/+2Brings back memories. Made one just like this about 10 years ago. Damn that was a long time ago.
- dvd436, on 12/01/2008, -0/+0Man I would have loved this like 5 years ago. Bit to old now though :(
