- alpha94, on 07/21/2008, -0/+11I don't know about top 15 in the world, but still interesting despite the fact that it seems to be only showing the more trendy fighters of the moment.
- jemka, on 07/22/2008, -1/+61. Write down the top 10 MMA fighters
2. Realize you can't and just look up 10
3. Realize you need like 5 more and then it will look legit????
4. Profit
I need to stop making fun of these blog lists and just make one myself.

- PookaMan, on 07/22/2008, -8/+2should have been top 15 ufc fighters...ufc fighters are class c fighters and any pride fighter would stomp all over anybody on that list...also anyone planning on digging me down look it up instead of fanboying the ufc. pride fights are international and ufc is mostly just the us. not saying the ufc fighters aren't talented (they could kick mine and anyones ass that bothers posting on the internet) but they ARE class c fighters. its a fact.
- covertbadger, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4So much crap, in just one small post. First, PRIDE doesn't exist anymore. Second, whilst some ex-PRIDE fighters (Big Nog, Rampage, Silva) have done well, others (Cro Cop, Henderson, Shogun) got spanked into the middle of next week. Third, if UFC is so US-dominated why do only two of the 5 weight classes have a US champion?
The only fanboying here is on your part. The mystique of PRIDE has gone, deal with it. - poet, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2It seems I don't have to anally rape you for your horrible compilation of ***** reply PookaMan, because covertbadger is already waist-deep in your colon.
- ZzFDKzZ, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1LMAO PookaMan its the year 2008 man. Catch up with the times.

- mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -1/+8Wow, just wow. There is no way that you can rank anybody over Fedor. The man has never lost a ROUND in his career. George St Pierre was knocked-the-*****-out by Matt Serra. The only fight Fedor has ever lost was due to a cut, that would normally be ruled a no-contest, but it was a tournament, so they had to declare a victor. He beat the current UFC heavyweight champ 2.5 times, and just creamed the former heavyweight Tim Sylvia. Sylvia even thinks that nobody can beat him, and that he's not human. On top of this, Fedor has the best personality of any fighter in the world. He's humble and modest, and very grateful.
There is also no way you can rank George St Pierre above Spider Silva. NONE. The writer of this article simply knows nothing about MMA.
This is a TERRIBLE article. Please read any other site besides this.- JigoroKano, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Never lost a round? Fedor vs. Arona.
Machida can also be argued to not only have never lost a round, but never even put into real danger (a.k.a. Fedor vs. Fujita). But who has Machida fought? Only a handful of good opponents.
Fedor has had 2 top ranked opponents in the last 3 years. Meanwhile Faber, GSP, Silva, ... have all been pretty busy with top competition.
Both performance and competition have to be taken into account. - mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Fedor Vs. Arona was officially ruled a unanimous decision in which he won all three rounds. Personally, I agree with this highly, but I can see the debate. This is one of those fights that will be debated until the end of time.
- JigoroKano, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Never lost a round? Fedor vs. Arona.
- AntiPropaganda, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1GSP over Fedor? wtf
Machida at #15? I can think of 100 fighters better than this joke
who the ***** is Paulo Filho?
Liddell over Rampage? I remember rampage knocking him out twice wtf
This list is a joke
- jemka, on 07/22/2008, -1/+61. Write down the top 10 MMA fighters
- Hodor, on 07/21/2008, -1/+19Anderson Silva won in his light heavyweight debut...
- bugsy187, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4Fedor just beat a multiple time heavyweight champ several inches taller and 30 pounds heavier. He also beat that dominant former champ in 36 seconds.
- bizkit00, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2fedor is #1 by far
- AllyOfReason, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4Won is a bit of an understatement.
- brokenworlds, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Man he gave that guy a 2 inch gash on he's face with one punch, though probably opened up abit more with the following punches.
- bugsy187, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4Fedor just beat a multiple time heavyweight champ several inches taller and 30 pounds heavier. He also beat that dominant former champ in 36 seconds.
- flogistan, on 07/21/2008, -3/+35Putting Georges St. Pierre above anderson silva and Fedor Emelianenko doesn't make sense. Putting Chuck liddell above Rampage is simply insane. This is a list of guys you like the best, with a little great white hope racism mixed in, that happens to include some of the greatest fighters in the world.
- daengbo, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5Agreed. I especially despised the statement that Fedor won't be ranked higher until he fights in the "premier" league. UFC's monopoly status doesn't make it the best. PrideFC was a much better league than the UFC is, and this is shown by how well the Pride fighters did going into UFC despite the crippling rule changes.
The only reason that Fedor's not in UFC is that Dana is a megalomaniac and wouldn't give Fedor a decent contract. In fact, he doesn't give any of the top fighter decent contracts, which is why they are all trying to leave so that they can make decent money in their short careers.
Much more importantly, Inside MMA ranked Fedor the best fighter on their top ten list.
I'll believe he's second when I see someone beat him.- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -1/+1Damn, I'm glad someone else feels the same way about those cheap rotten bastards in the ufc. It's the Frititta brothers too. They pay their athletes less than any major sport in america... by far.
- mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2The UFC puts on some pretty good fights, and I respect it for making MMA so popular in the US, but White is a DICK. They treat fighters poorly, and lock them into terrible contracts. Luckily, some pretty major investors (Mark Cuban, Don Trump) have started to pay attention to MMA and really pay the fighters well.
- rpad, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4I totally agree with all your points. This is a poor article.
- bizkit00, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2yea because rampage isn't about to go rot in jail for a few years... oh wait
- PSotter, on 07/22/2008, -1/+1Does anybody else think that Chuck Liddel looks suspiscously like transgender pornstar Buck Angel?
- daengbo, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5Agreed. I especially despised the statement that Fedor won't be ranked higher until he fights in the "premier" league. UFC's monopoly status doesn't make it the best. PrideFC was a much better league than the UFC is, and this is shown by how well the Pride fighters did going into UFC despite the crippling rule changes.
- RegalGSX, on 07/22/2008, -12/+1Kimbo Slice should make it to this list one day.
- jemka, on 07/22/2008, -0/+8Haha, you should be a comedian.
- RegalGSX, on 07/22/2008, -3/+3I raped your goldfish.
- Dreww40, on 07/22/2008, -1/+3Were this a list of the worst 15 MMA fighters in the world, I would agree with you my friend. Anyone who thinks Kimbo Slice should be on any list with the prefix "best" or "top" doesn't know anything about MMA.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -2/+1I don't know... he uses a whole lotta drugs to look like that. He could top that list.
- TrevorBelmont, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Unless it's a list of "Top Sluggers". His "legit" career as a fighter has been brief but from those fights and his YouTube brawls I think he's shown that no one is really safe fighting him. If he connects solidly, your night could be over.
That said, I'm not one of the Kimbo fan-boys. He's fun but he's WAY too green to mention in a discussion of serious competitors.
- jemka, on 07/22/2008, -0/+8Haha, you should be a comedian.
- kpwells, on 07/22/2008, -19/+2Where is Kimbo?
- jemka, on 07/22/2008, -2/+10Collecting welfare.
- bugsy187, on 07/22/2008, -2/+3That's a pretty racist comment. What's with the influx of racist MMA fans in the past 3-4 years?
- AeonTorpor, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1So if you make fun of someone who collects welfare you're racist? Or are you the one that's racist and assuming he means "He's black, so he must be on welfare."
What if he meant that he's a terrible fighter and thus, doesn't get paid for *****, hence the welfare. - ZzFDKzZ, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1He might not be the best fighter but Kimbo is making tons of money
- mantis108, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3fighting the tomato cans they're currently feeding him to 'build the story', and trying to stall long enough for him to get enough BJJ defense to not get submitted in 5 seconds by anyone with even minimal sub skills.
- jemka, on 07/22/2008, -2/+10Collecting welfare.
- mchisari, on 07/22/2008, -0/+24
Fedor. Fedor. Fedor. I knew he was gonna win that fight against Sylvia, but good god damn, that was an intense 36 seconds.
I can't wait to see him fight Couture.- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -0/+6And he made 2 million dollars in 36 seconds. That's five or six years of championship pay in the UFC. Can't wait to see Fedor vs Randy. ***** the UFC. Cheap bastards don't care about their athletes enough to pay them or their fans enough to get the best fights.
- JBurds, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2I don't get why Fedor is #2 instead of #1. I mean, this is a list of the best, not the best pound for pound. Fedor could top anyone on that list.
- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -1/+11whoa...fedor isn't on top. Not sure if anyone watched him fight last night, he didn't skip a beat. Josh barnett, Hendo and Matt Lindland needs to be on that list too.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2He's the king.
- sathias, on 07/22/2008, -2/+30The top 4 should look
1/ Fedor
2/ A Silva
3/ BJ Penn
4/ GSP
apart from that the list isnt too bad- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -2/+5Thats about right, although I'd put Penn #2.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -5/+3No way. GSP beat Penn decisively. Penn gasses... because he doesn't roid. I don't think Silva uses them either. Don't know about Fedor, but he kinda doesn't look like he does in a way. GSP is doing some juice though.
- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4Well I'm assuming this list is for pound-for-pound. I always think Penn shouldn't be jumping weight classes and just stick to lightweight. GSP is huge for a welterweight. He looks like a light heavyweight in the ring. Cutting weight for weigh-ins is the most underrated aspect in the MMA.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Would be great to see GSP go to 185 and fight silva.
- Culiada, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4YES WAY (lol)! BJ Penn above GSP! First of all, it wasn't that decisive. BJ was out of shape (for fighters' standards) and was still man-handling GSP at first. You know what, I wouldn't even put GSP in the same list as those 3, they're just waaay too ***** dominant in their respective weight-classes. fuuck, BJ and Silva had to move up in weight-class to get some decent competition. I bet Fedor would too, if he could. lol
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -2/+1I won't argue with that, only because I think BJ would have beaten GSP is he took the same amount of performance enhancing drugs as GSP. BJ takes none, and will fight anyone, and I think he's one of the very best because of that among other things. Hard to compare him to Fedor though. They're too different. I think he could whip faber too. If neither took drugs, he would kill faber.
- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3I know we live in the age of steroids but people are still innocent until proven guilty.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -2/+1I'm not trying to submit it as evidence in a court of law. If you've known enough people who've done them, watching them start them, been around them, even taken them in the past, you get really good at telling. There are tons of people who can tell visually.
- mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3What is Chuck doing above Page?
- donkz, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2too many 30-0 records of nobodies vs nobodies.. Take someone like wanderlei who gooes every fight vs world top class opponents and compare him to that clown list, ridiculous. That top4 is about right. I too would leave chuck/rampage/griffin out because they've been just too inconsistent.
- Elohir, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4Apart from the fact that they have the completely wrong Nogueira brother in there.
- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -2/+5Thats about right, although I'd put Penn #2.
- hollywoodphony, on 07/22/2008, -3/+8I don't think these guys are half as tough as the average Digg user. I mean, why else would they threaten people from behind a computer for making fun of them?
- KnightMareInc, on 07/22/2008, -2/+24any list that doesnt have Fedor as #1 is automatically invalid.
- SeekerDarksteel, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4It looks like this list was written before the Affliction show. And while Fedor certainly verified his right to be considered the top after his performance there, he had a significant dearth of any quality opponents for a long time up until then. When you spend your time fighting 1-0 kickboxers, it's hard to impress people.
- mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Yeah, but those 1-0 kickboxers put up more of a fight than the former UFC heavyweight champ. Also, you really can't place GSP above spider.
- radsprack, on 07/22/2008, -1/+3Does that include lists with food?
- bizkit00, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3yep, best pizzas:
3. bbq chicken
2. pepperoni
1. fedor.
- bizkit00, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3yep, best pizzas:
- vanguardanon, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4Any list that has Nog in the Affliction show when it's actually his brother that will be there is automatically invalid.
- SeekerDarksteel, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4It looks like this list was written before the Affliction show. And while Fedor certainly verified his right to be considered the top after his performance there, he had a significant dearth of any quality opponents for a long time up until then. - idbjoshm, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4As I was reading down the list, I was so worried that that POS Tito Ortiz would be in a high ranking. To my relief, he was not even on the list.
- twinmatrix, on 07/22/2008, -7/+16Inaccurate, Fedor is the best
and seriously GSP at #1 is retarded.- mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -2/+1Actually, I was thinking that having Chuck anywhere on that list was more retarded, but yeah, GSP @ 1 is nonsense.
- donkz, on 07/22/2008, -0/+6GSP lost 2 fights in his entire UFC career:
-one to Matt Hughes. He came back and disowned Hughes like a bag of crap
-one to Serra, when he simply slipped and fell somehow... also came back and owned him
I too would put fedor at #1, but GSP is definitely TOP3 right now, absolute top in his weight class and pound-for-pound one of the most impressive fighters in MMA.- Hodor, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Plus, if you ever meet GSP, or get to train with him, you'll see he really is a good martial artist on top of being a fighter.
- mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2I never said GSP shouldn't be number 3. He should be number three, but I'm upset because spider and Fedor have been too dominant to rule them out of number 1 & 2.
- vrich187, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4I don't think you will see Kimbo on this list for awhile as he looked really shaky last time out. I was surprised to see Chuck ahead of Rampage as he has beat Chuck a couple times. I would think that Fedor or Anderson would be first right now as they killed on Saturday.
- Ryan166, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2your right, but this article was published before saturday's fights.
- Dreww40, on 07/22/2008, -2/+3I don't think you will ever see Kimbo on this list as he is a backyard brawler and has no real skills in any martial art.
- vrich187, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Right, I was hoping that he might get better with Bas working with him, but after that last disaster I don't think he will ever be anything more than a brawler aka Tank Abbot. Wasn't paying attention to when it was published. That makes more sense.
- bugsy187, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2Kimbo has grown a lot as a fighter. His MMA skills have improved a lot since working with Bas. Remember that Kimbo had zero ground skills in his backyard brawl days. His last opponent, Thompson, is a more experienced MMA fighter with matches in Pride FC. Kimbo wasn't dominant against Thompson, and we saw him struggle at times. That had a lot to do with a decent game plan by his opponent.
- holyskeleton, on 07/22/2008, -8/+1when i glanced over the title i thought it was about world's top jet fighters. now that would be more interesting.
- kgunning, on 07/22/2008, -6/+12They forgot Batman
- Imnick, on 07/22/2008, -10/+1Kimbo Slice anyone?
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5WHY do people keep saying that!!
- cococrispies, on 07/22/2008, -1/+6maybe in the bottom 15 pro fighters
- mtrip, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Kimbo himself has never claimed to be some great fighter, so you can't hold that against him. He trains, he gets out there and fights. He brings in millions of viewers so he deserves to be paid for that. I don't understand why everybody rags on Kimbo.
- snareguy17, on 07/22/2008, -0/+14Fedor Emelianenko submitting Tim Sylvia in less than 40 seconds of the first round should get him the #1 spot. Also, considering his only one loss was due to a cut that he didn't want stopped.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -1/+5a cut opened by an illegal elbow that would have been a NC except that it was a tourny so someone HAD to be declared the winner.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -1/+5a cut opened by an illegal elbow that would have been a NC except that it was a tourny so someone HAD to be declared the winner.
- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -1/+4IMO Penn is the best LW in the world, but UFC does not have the best group of lightweights fighting together at all. Filho, Aoki, Joachim hansen. Nick Diaz, Gomi, Tawajiri and Ishida all fight in other organizations. Although Filho is already on the list, the LW division has to be the most stacked division in the world. And pound-for-pound any of those guys can probably make it on that list when fighting at their best.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2You mean faber's not facing any of the best talent in the world at his weight? I didn't know about any of these guys. I guess there's a whole other dimension that I don't see.
- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Yeah sorry the only reason I didn't say faber is because he's a featherweight. I think he'd be top tier in the LW division as well. Him and Penn would be a crazy fight.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2You mean faber's not facing any of the best talent in the world at his weight? I didn't know about any of these guys. I guess there's a whole other dimension that I don't see.
- shibainu, on 07/22/2008, -2/+2ill fight all 15 of them at once blindfolded with one arm tied behind my back.
- carl25, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5and you will end up with 1 arm, in the trash can while the rest of you will never be found again
- G_money, on 07/22/2008, -7/+2No Chris Leben? ;)
- TrevorBelmont, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Of coarse not.
- gogog0, on 07/22/2008, -12/+1i know UFC has its hardcore fans but i just cant take a sport that advertises and goes for the same market as wrestling seriously. its hilarious when the fans try to compare it to boxing. boxing is classy and professional, UFC...not so much.
- travis1982, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I'd have to disagree there bud. UFC is one of the safest, most technical sports out there, but like yourself, not many people know exactly what these fighters go through, and how hard they train. Boxing classy? I wouldn't go that far, boxing is a lot more dangerous than MMA, seeing that there is a countdown for the fighter to get back up after being knocked out, that leads to brain damage. The UFC on the other hand are so anal about protecting their fighters, they won't let their fighters keep fighting after getting knocked down. MMA fighters have to train in several different martial arts, and in order to be the best, you have to be an amazing well rounded fighter. Boxing is dead because something BETTER came along. Don't be a hater.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Let's not go too far. "safest?" Are you insane? I think they say safer than boxing, not safest. Jesus man, what sport have you been watching?
- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1It's all marketing. In MMA you get your ass beat by a dude and a few days later, the guy invites you to train with him. I doubt that's happening in boxing, but I really don't want to have the boxing/MMA debates.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Yeah, so don't have them. They're both great.
- travis1982, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1I'd have to disagree there bud. - 8fans, on 07/22/2008, -8/+3If Fedor didn't grab the ropes he would have had trouble finishing Matt Lindlin.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC_5Cfky-o0- ak420, on 07/22/2008, -1/+5What you actually meant to say was: Fedor would have gotten taken down and then 10 seconds later the fight would have been ended when Matt Lindland tapped because his arm was about to get snapped.
- mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2Shut your ***** mouth, troll. He won, Matt lost. End of story.
- JigoroKano, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Lindland also grabbed the ropes in that fight.
- Farmer77, on 07/22/2008, -0/+10Fedor hit Sylvia like a Mac truck and then made him his bitch by having him tap out to a RNC.
There's no doubt in my mind Fedor is #1 in the world right now.- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2The weirdest thing about fedor is that I've never seen anyone, anywhere fight like he does. He does everything different. Especially his stand up. It just doesn't seem like it would work, but it does.
- JigoroKano, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Many of the Russian fighters' boxing looks like that. Hands wide apart, goading the opponent in. Lot's of overhand punches. Watch some vintage Igor Vovchanchyn.
His RNC on Tim was also not actually a RNC but a windpipe choke with the wrist from Judo/Sambo.
He just isn't your typical Western boxing/Wrestling/BJJ fighter. - ZzFDKzZ, on 07/23/2008, -1/+1Yeah... but too bad Igor is not from Russia.
- JigoroKano, on 07/23/2008, -1/+1Igor is from the Ukraine which borders Russia and was a part of the Russian Empire and USSR.
More importantly, Igor was the Russian kickboxing champion.
If I say that BJ Penn practices Brazilian Jujitsu, will you quip "But he is Hawaiian"?
- JigoroKano, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Many of the Russian fighters' boxing looks like that. Hands wide apart, goading the opponent in. Lot's of overhand punches. Watch some vintage Igor Vovchanchyn.
- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Fedor is one of the fastest fighters in the world regardless of weight. He probably doesn't have the best stand up or the best ground game but he's a jack of all trades. No one knows how to setup his ground game with his stand up or vice versa better than him.
- flogistan, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2The weirdest thing about fedor is that I've never seen anyone, anywhere fight like he does. He does everything different. Especially his stand up. It just doesn't seem like it would work, but it does.
- steveoco, on 07/22/2008, -3/+2www.kokshoor.com/mma is a list which is always being updated by fans. It may not be official but pretty cool because you can see them based on punching power etc. Worth checking out if your a fan. Fedor and BJ Penn have my vote for PFP Best.
- cococrispies, on 07/22/2008, -2/+16Kimbo Slice!!!!
oh wait, he's awful. - swankboy, on 07/22/2008, -3/+12How the hell did this ***** list get dugg up so much?
- chr0nic21, on 07/22/2008, -4/+10Putting Saint Pierre over Fedor? are you insane?
Theoratically, If Fedor and St Pierre were on the same weight class, Fedor would beat 4 St Pierres at the same time.
He doesnt have all these fancy kicks and gay ass backflips, but godamn....he swings those arms like a ***** sledge hammer...
Who ever wrote this article is plain stupid - mantis108, on 07/22/2008, -1/+6If you want to find accurate MMA top fighter lists, I recommend going to Sherdog.com. This list is simply full of flaws.
- madcaps1980, on 07/22/2008, -6/+0Its a good list but having Machida on there is downright retarded, just because he beat Tito doesn't make him a top fighter especially considering all he did against Tito was runaway like a bitch.Yeah Yeah he's 13-0 big deal there are a lot of guys with great records like Diego Sanchez who has a pretty good record at 19-2 and he wasn't even mentioned. Plus Faber's record is 21-1-0 not 16-1. If this a list made up by fans then they need to pay better attention to what's going on.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5you just proved that your an ignorant MMA fan. Machida isnt on the list because he beat tito, hes on the list because hes beaten Tito, Nakamura, Rich Franklin, Stephen Bonnar, BJ Penn and Sokodjou (i dont want to hear anything about Rich being a MW, hes had more lhw fights in his career than MW, theres more to MMA than the UFC). hes a technical fighter, if he was "running" from tito, how did he manage to score so many hits and floor him with a knee? hes hard to hit, but runners dont knock people like Rich Franklin out.
speaking of paying more attention to whats going on...- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3Frankly, I'm predicting Machida to beat Forrest. His style is boring as hell but extremely technical. He fights to win.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4i dont know if id call him boring, maybe to some people, i like his style, he does lots of impressive stuff.
- drethedog, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Zlorp i agree with you, machida = Deep karate discipline
- madcaps1980, on 07/22/2008, -2/+0Ignorant? Yea sure buddy. I never said he was on there because he specifically beat Tito but Machida was never in the spotlight until that fight. The reason why Tito got a knee to the ribs is because his own frustration got the better of him and he shot in, yea big mistake on Tito's part. Machida maybe smart and effective but he's boring to watch and unfortunately the "ignorant theres no more to MMA than UFC fan" will be hesitant on ordering a fight with him being the main event. No money in makes Dana White a very angry man. I just don't think he deserves to be on the top 15.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2machida has quite a following actually, but you obviously didnt know that.
- madcaps1980, on 07/22/2008, -2/+0Obviously you're an idiot and don't pay attention because I never said that I don't know who Machida was, I just find it funny that he beats Tito and now he's making a top 15 list.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2are you retarded? all that i said was that machida has a larger fanbase than you obviously realize, long before he fought tito. but since you apparently lack reading comprehension skills you somehow thought i was talking about you knowing who he was.
better not post anything else
- drethedog, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1Hey dodo, he dominated that fight from the first second, you don't step on the octagon and leave your face out there to get nailed, each fighter has its own style, and Tito couldn't do ***** against him, Tito is a joke....too much talk....
- mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -0/+1"Its a good list but having Machida on there is downright retarded,"
You're downright retarded. Machida is undefeated.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5you just proved that your an ignorant MMA fan. - Dreww40, on 07/22/2008, -1/+2This is extremely outdated, seeing as how there were two major mma promotions a couple days ago that would drastically change this list.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -1/+10st pierre above Fedor AND Anderson Silva? ***** i'll never be going to this site again
- chubbybubba, on 07/22/2008, -0/+6How do you NOT give the number one spot to the guy who's never lost? Fedor is easily number one.
(and don't tell me about the loss that shoulda been a dq) - ansatsu29, on 07/22/2008, -5/+1No Brandon Vera?
- Dreww40, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3I like Brandon Vera, but no way is he top 15 in the world right now
- Hodor, on 07/22/2008, -1/+1that last fight was sorta crap, too.
- mrhedges, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4I love GSP as much as the next guy from Montreal does, but #1? I think if he does well for his next few fights, then I'd agree, but as it stands he has yet to successfully defend his title. Silva and Fedor both, in my opinion, have been more impressive fighters. Again, not to discredit GSP, but I think he's still got a few fights to go to reach the status of those two.
- delaxna, on 07/22/2008, -6/+0I don't think these guys are half as tough as the average Digg user. I mean, why else would they threaten people from behind a computer for making fun of them? Visit My Home Page ather ideas
- drethedog, on 07/22/2008, -3/+1He's tough too.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOo6aHSY8hU

Pure bloodlust from fans. Give me boxing or pure Martial Arts anyday.
The idea of MMA is ok, K1 is sometime good, but usualy the end result usualy just two burly men on the ground one thumping the other in the face.
I know this comment won't be liked but if your gonna digg me down you may aswell give reasons why I am wrong.- mlwarrior, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5Boxing is far more dangerous than MMA. In boxing, if there is a knockdown, you stand up and keep getting hit in the head until you are so brain dead you can't move. In MMA, if you get knocked down, the fight is almost always stopped before damage can be done. That's why pro boxers suffer brain damage and die from fights. There has never been a death in MMA. Also, in most cases fights end via a submission hold, where no damage is inflicted.
MMA includes Olympic athletes, who simultaneously hold blackbelts in several FUNCTIONAL martial arts. Boxing has Mike Tyson, and other thugs.
"Pure martial arts" is totally ineffective. Watch some Bruce Lee videos, at least that's entertaining, don't waste your time watching some BS martial arts match.
That's just a few of the reasons that you're hopelessly wrong.
"Pure bloodlust from fans." A typical comment from someone who doesn't understand to sport. It's very interesting to see the different stylistic matchups. You have Lyoto Machida who's undefeated, but uses Sumo, and Karate! Take a striker and put them agains a Jui-jitsu expert. In boxing you have.... people hitting heads with fits...only. That's bloodlust - AllyOfReason, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4"...but usualy the end result usualy just two burly men on the ground one thumping the other in the face."
You clearly don't watch MMA. - cheekybastard, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5Boxing is the joke, why is it losing viewers to MMA?
Mike Tyson is not a thug, he just doesn't play well with others, Don King is a thug.
"pure Martial Arts" like Jeet Kun Do, which is the (grand)father of todays MMA. Bruce Lee borrowed from everybody. Hapkido is another for you to Google. Research the history of today's traditional martial arts, you will find nothing pure about them.
You have much to learn grasshopper. - bustitout, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3"but usualy the end result usualy just two burly men on the ground one thumping the other in the face."
It takes skill to be able to ground and pound effectively, if you do not have a background in wrestling/bjj/judo or any other form of ground fighting then you're going to get punished. Please go watch a Fedor highlight reel.

- wtfmate112, on 07/22/2008, -7/+1I can't wait for Liddell to wipe the floor with quinton and forrest griffin.
- TrevorBelmont, on 07/22/2008, -1/+1Kieth Jardine beat Liddell. All bets are off on him.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -0/+8Also, Couture above Nog is complete fail. Noguiera has one of the most impressiive records in MMA, hes been consistent for years, Fedor has long been the only reason that Nog isnt the #1 HW. pretending like Couture is better is ridiculous
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -0/+4actually you know what? i just realized that Big Nogs twin brother is who is on the list, but no Big Nog!!! what is this website smoking?
- phyx726, on 07/22/2008, -0/+3I always wanted to see Couture vs Nog but what about Barnett? He fought Nog twice and both went to decision going a win and both sides. I think when it comes to HW's, its Nog, Barnett, Fedor, and Couture as the top guys but really its just Fedor and everyone else.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Agreed, ive personally seen it as
1.Fedor
2. Nog
3. Barnett
for a long time. sure its impressive to see couture come out of retirement in his 40's and beat tim sylvia, and for that i'll give him the #4 spot, but couture hasnt been as dominant as the other 3 in his career. id love to see barnett fight fedor, ive wanted to see that for quite a long time actually, i think he could give fedor some problems maybe, but i also think fedor is too fast for him.
- Zlorp, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2Agreed, ive personally seen it as
- dhVyse, on 07/22/2008, -5/+5Anderson The Spider Silva FTW. My favorite mmo fighter of all time.
- dhVyse, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2MMA I was tired last night. =)
- designer, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5Fedor Emelianenko is the best.
- poet, on 07/22/2008, -0/+2"Fedor Emelianenko is the best." QFT(Quoted For Truth)
- swears, on 07/22/2008, -4/+2Has anyone else thought of the notion that the numbering doesn't represent their skills compared to one another.
I mean when you have a list, you usually use numbers. Perhaps if he used A - O , some people wouldn't have been so offended. - mrogi, on 07/22/2008, -5/+1In terms of talent and skill, Anderson Silva is light years beyond any other MMA fighter in the world.
- eavesdrop, on 07/22/2008, -4/+4No pride fighters whatsoever, this list is a joke.
- ahoyhoy1, on 07/22/2008, -4/+3UFC is gay, too bad they bought pride and shut it down. There's still Dream and K-1 though.
- ZzFDKzZ, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1LMAO Pride is gone. But some of the fighters listed have fought in Pride before.
- nublet, on 07/22/2008, -5/+1bj not #1? no digg.
- penileartery, on 07/22/2008, -4/+1i like the list for the most part, but i don't see Andrei Arlovski on this list. disappointing.
- Spamorama, on 07/22/2008, -0/+6Awful list. This guy knows very little about non UFC fighters. Heck, he even names Antonio Rogerio Nogueira as #11 when his older twin, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is by far the better of the two (and former Pride Heavyweight Champion and current UFC Heavyweight Interim Champ) Heck, the only man to really have Nogueira's number is Fedor and Fedor's only beaten him by decision.
He's also missing some of the great japanese fighters who haven't transitioned from Pride to UFC. Like Takanori Gomi, Shinya Aoki, and Kid Yamamoto.- commonsence21, on 07/23/2008, -1/+1No Kazushi Sakuraba either.
- Zvyier, on 07/22/2008, -0/+5This list is awful. You cannot have Liddell higher then Rampage, You cannot have GSP higher then Silva and Fedor. Jon Fitch should not be on the list period. The list is missing key international talent such as TAKANORI GOMI and Kid Yamamoto.
- Butterbean, on 07/22/2008, -7/+1I may be in the minority, but i just don't like MMA.
and a lot of it is because of the douche bags that where that affliction crap. -
