- Amavel, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1If you look at the bottom of the page there's a link to the 'fortheloveofcooking' website. Just saying. Don't feel like they stole it, just obviously thought it to be a good recipe and wanted to share it with more people.

- Wakkyweed, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1I find that they are best when lightly steamed, covered in oil and garlic, then grilled. YUM!
- Rotzooi, on 10/11/2008, -0/+5If you enjoy your artichokes flavorless, absolutely.
- oboy, on 10/11/2008, -9/+150This is awesome! A recipe on the front page of Digg. The recommendation engine is AWESOME!

- smacksaw, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2I'm a bit surprised to see someone of your Digg resume saying that, as it was mostly your MBM/msaleem/zaibatsu brethren dominating Digg with their articles until recently.
Why haven't/hadn't any of you used your influence for more recipes then??? - brotherfranciz, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2Wow, to be honest, this is the first time I've seen a recipe reach the front page (my Digg RSS feed actually...), it's quite refreshing... I was expecting something surprising - like a cat eating the artichoke or something...
- WriterSD, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2Then you missed the delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake recipe:

- aarku, on 10/11/2008, -1/+16i did a tiny little dance
- 1776, on 10/11/2008, -3/+13Not a huge artichoke fan but that looks really good. Garlic always helps, especially on green veggies.
- aussieNickuss, on 10/11/2008, -3/+7Yum!!
- Eagle193, on 10/11/2008, -10/+22A woman is like an artichoke: you must peel away the layers until you find her heart.
- MrsRodted, on 10/11/2008, -2/+44and then you dip it in lemon butter
- Croecop, on 10/11/2008, -9/+13And then your screw her tight ass when she is least suspecting it
- infiniphunk, on 10/11/2008, -20/+7@Croecop
hell yeah I just did. It's amazing how some women really enjoy anal.
I didn't have any butter though I just used spit. - MrsRodted, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2@infiniphunk
HOLY *****! A digg user had sex.... with ANOTHER person!!!
- myshoeshurt, on 10/11/2008, -3/+6i don't know whether to digg or bury this comment.
- nathron, on 10/11/2008, -0/+21Romantic imagery... or homicidal confessions? You choose!
- smacksaw, on 10/11/2008, -2/+3And like the article says, use scissors to cut off all of the sharp parts that can hurt you.
- Wakkyweed, on 10/11/2008, -3/+7A woman is like an artichoke: cold and prickly on the outside but with lots of fuzzy hairs in the middle that get stuck in your teeth if not properly removed first.
Oh, and one is never enough to stop you from being hungry for more. - shcon, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1That was the gayest thing I've ever heard.
- milkshaker, on 10/11/2008, -0/+0and ogres are like onions
you keep peeling away until they make you cry
- MrsRodted, on 10/11/2008, -2/+44and then you dip it in lemon butter
- BIGMUR72, on 10/11/2008, -17/+138This really got dugg?
- Zephik, on 10/11/2008, -2/+16Apparently diggers like artichokes? :)
I remember eating them as a kid, then one day I was over at my parents house and they were steaming a couple in a pot, tried one when they were ready and it was just as good as I remember it being. ^_^
I never dip them in anything though, I think they taste better by themselves. :)- wanderingsun, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3we always eat them with a sauce of lemon juice, butter and a little salt.. SO good. The acidity really adds a lot.
- lisaawesome, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2I grew up eating steamed artichokes and mayonnaise as an occasional treat so I always associate artichokes with fond memories.
- yaddayaddayoda, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1I grew up under a rock. Never tried an artichoke until I had the appetizer at Red Robin... it's really good! Then I was hooked.
- BIGMUR72, on 10/11/2008, -6/+1Personally, I don't get it. I am more of a meet-a-tarian. I'm trying to get it rolling, in fact, a couple of years ago, I started a t-shirt line on cafe press to promote meet eating.
http://www.cafepress.com/freemanstore.31880449
I am also going to start "MEATA" just like "PETA" but for meat eaters. I'm thinking of the name meaning "Meateaters Eat All Tasty Animals" or something. If you slap some pork shoulder on the artichoke, I'll eat it then. Maybe- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/11/2008, -1/+5Take your spam elsewhere.
- BIGMUR72, on 11/15/2008, -0/+1you are spam
- palpacino, on 10/11/2008, -0/+7I thought this was april fool's day or some ***** when I read it. I think I read it three times looking for a punch line or a hidden star trek meaning or some damn thing that would make it a digg-worthy articho..i mean article. ahh whatever.
- Zephik, on 10/11/2008, -2/+16Apparently diggers like artichokes? :)
- Mastrdebater, on 10/11/2008, -6/+20You can choke Artie but you cant choke me.
- loconet, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2It's actually Arti who does the choking.
- Satanael, on 10/11/2008, -3/+51A recipe on the front page! This is a triumph.
Also, Revision3 needs to bring back Ctrl+Alt+Chicken- ross., on 10/11/2008, -0/+10I'm making a note here: "huge success".
- slimkevi, on 10/11/2008, -0/+7It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Artichoke Science;
We do what we must, because we can. - Amavel, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1The artichoke is a lie?
- slimkevi, on 10/11/2008, -0/+7It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
- championchap, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1I do miss Ctrl+Alt+Chicken.
One of the few shows I actually watched on there. - Shedding, on 10/11/2008, -1/+0This is a triump? I am making a note here, huge success.. Ok ok stop it Portal Fanboi
- NoMercy, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2hellz yea i loved ctrl alt chicken....did that chicken cordon blue dish and it was great

- gospe1337, on 10/11/2008, -2/+54Dugg for a recipe on digg -- and a good looking one.
Looks like a nice way to go through some of my common kitchen stuff (lemons, garlic, basil, etc)- aarku, on 10/11/2008, -1/+1http://digg.com/news/food_drink/upcoming/most
with your digging and humping there could be more recipes on the front page and all would be good - BradHAWK, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3"Looks like a nice way to go through some of my common kitchen stuff (lemons, garlic, basil, etc)"
You can also type into Google "recipe: list_of_ingredients". - sdigroup, on 10/11/2008, -1/+1How about some real food ......unbelievable..........
- aarku, on 10/11/2008, -1/+1http://digg.com/news/food_drink/upcoming/most
- pavelmah, on 10/11/2008, -14/+3I like anti-choke..
That's what she said.- paulsabo, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2you dumbass, you can't set them up AND knock them down...
- Proctor, on 10/11/2008, -15/+3I don't think anybody likes artichokes.
- vat0r, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1I think they suck personally but some people like them I guess.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Artichokes are one of the most profitable crops out there (next to ones outlawed by the DEA). People will try and steal them from farms. Two potato sacks full could probably net you several hundred dollars.
- mbonzo531, on 10/11/2008, -13/+5I love Artichokes and lemons, and garlic, and basil, but this is why there is an Ok, this lame button.
- flyingclutchman, on 10/11/2008, -6/+25I think the only reason this got dugg was because people feel guilty that all they eat is McDonald's and chocolate cake and so if they digg a healthy recipe and make a comment "Good recipe! I'm going to make this!" then they will magically be healthy.
- MadCatter, on 10/11/2008, -4/+4I actually dugg it because I'm stuck in another country currently and am still learning how to eat the local food.... thus I'm hungry, and this looks amazing.
- Gabberwok, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3This looks good, but I'm not sure you can call a recipe with that much butter "healthy"...
- Charlesbian, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2mcdonalds and chocolate cake arent the only delicious foods in the world. food is food, and the ones with labels on them shouldn't be the only ones you consider.
- badwithcomputer, on 10/11/2008, -14/+44i never really noticed it until now but artichokes look like a monster's vagina
- carinishead, on 10/11/2008, -0/+9Looking at the pic from the link, I'd say that looks exactly like what I'd expect the monster from the black lagoons vag to look like.
Damn I wanna ***** that. - inverselogic, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2FORGET ABOUT THE GELGAMEKS!?!?!?!?!!?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvGD4Jp3_4I
- carinishead, on 10/11/2008, -0/+9Looking at the pic from the link, I'd say that looks exactly like what I'd expect the monster from the black lagoons vag to look like.
- barfooz, on 10/11/2008, -3/+14Just remember, don't try and eat the green part. Cause you'll be chewing on it for 10 minutes. Like I did in that fancy restaurant that one time.
- xcvbn, on 10/11/2008, -2/+3? yea the blue part doesnt make you chew at all
- ayeroxor, on 10/11/2008, -2/+1And never get your teeth on the purple part; while some artichokes like that, most don't.
- infiniphunk, on 10/11/2008, -4/+20Man, I always love to see a nice recipe on digg. Would you not agree, food is one of the great pleasures of life? Why eat the same boring thing every day?
For all you infantile diggers questioning a recipe on Digg's front page, get out of your mom's basement for a change and try making some food. You may find it very rewarding!
Thanks for the recipe!- phishneslo, on 10/11/2008, -4/+2if you need instructions on how to heat up an artichoke and add three ingredients, maybe you should spend a little more time at your mom's...
- brotherfranciz, on 10/11/2008, -2/+2Yeah, and say hi to your mom for me.
- lisaawesome, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3I've finally come to appreciate cooking skills. I guess that's what happens when you work in a kitchen.
- phishneslo, on 10/11/2008, -4/+2if you need instructions on how to heat up an artichoke and add three ingredients, maybe you should spend a little more time at your mom's...
- panteradactyl, on 10/11/2008, -12/+3wait, when was cooking important on digg??
- Jibberwalk, on 10/11/2008, -0/+6The lot of us came to the startling realization that one day, our mums will indeed die.
- k3y5rmy1if3, on 10/11/2008, -1/+1Wait, when did people start digging down comments that start with a capitol?
- koldmilk, on 10/11/2008, -3/+26wow a digg post on the front page not about politics.
- UsablePuddle, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2you mean not about Palin
- reboare, on 10/11/2008, -8/+2It's a sign of the endtimes....and I quote from the Cook Book, "Cookin' with Nastradamus" Behold the sign of the end shall be an oven, firey and hot, and the degrees by which it shall heat are 350. Those who partake of the savory goodness shall soon find themselves with a want for...more! mowahahahhahaha!
- infiniphunk, on 10/11/2008, -4/+1Moar!!!
- fixmonster, on 10/11/2008, -6/+8I have learned that "tech guys" also like to cook so I was not surprised that this was on the front page. I was actually struck by the fact that this is the first recipe that I have seen on the front page and wondered (in retrospect) why. All the computer nerds (my competition and friends, we all seem to hang with and know one another) I have met in my town have some cooking proficiency and I have always just chalked it up to the inherent creativity of the profession. Pro technicians reply with some recipes that you have come up with and lets make a recipe thread here that will be totally dugg down but I will cook every one of them. Non pro techs may also reply but we will identify your submissions by the inherent meme-like quality of your ideas. These will probably be funny, however, so I welcome it. I am now dropping the ballast and I will see the rest of you on the bottom of this thread!
- infiniphunk, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3http://www.eyeflex.org/food/
site may be a bit slow for various reasons. :P- tashtego67, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1Your food looks awesome.
- infiniphunk, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3http://www.eyeflex.org/food/
- CanadaKyle, on 10/11/2008, -12/+1Sounds re-todd-did!
- chadillak, on 10/11/2008, -5/+2sounds sofa king we todd did.
- jakk, on 10/11/2008, -6/+4You know, this kind of random stuff that I never would have looked for but definitely am very glad to have found is exactly why I still check out digg all these years later, haha.
- GorfTron, on 10/11/2008, -5/+1A baked Drazi head.
- frankb00th, on 10/11/2008, -5/+2Starting at the base of the artichoke, pull off one leaf
Draw the base of the leaf through your clenched teeth to scrape off the soft portion, discarding the rest of the leaf.
Remove and discard the "hairy" choke using a teaspoon
Eating the hairy choke can cause a choking hazard
Sounds funny until it's halfway down your throat- infiniphunk, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3your description sounds painful yet kinky.
- frankb00th, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1it was meant to be informational, yet I'm getting dugg down.
I guess it sounded too risqué
I got this from a culinary site and I'm not kidding about the choking.
- frankb00th, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1it was meant to be informational, yet I'm getting dugg down.
- infiniphunk, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3your description sounds painful yet kinky.
- Buzzpatrol, on 10/11/2008, -8/+10Buried for blatant advertising digg. It's a freaking recipe! Not even original!
- piznut, on 10/11/2008, -6/+17Wow.
Next maybe I should submit my recipe for toast.
How the hell did this get dugg up?
Its like submitting an Art related article about paint by numbers. - greensky, on 10/11/2008, -3/+3Here is how you can steam them...
http://www.zoeyskitchen.com/2008/08/basic-artichok ... - ogenbite, on 10/11/2008, -12/+5seriously, why is this on the front page? it's just a recipe. and it's not even for cake...
- Flashtone, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2just when you thought you had digg figured out.
- xsquirrel378x, on 10/11/2008, -11/+6buried for chicken stock. you can do much better with artichokes and make it vegetarian.
- 24imac, on 10/11/2008, -5/+1Buried for making a stupid vegetarian comment. I hate Hippies, Vegans, Liberals, Obama Supporters, Drunks, Potheads, PETA, and now You.
And yeah I am going to get Dugg down, but then again, who cares. my actual life will not end due to unpopularity on "digg"- Charlesbian, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3by mentioning how much you don't care, you obviously care enough to comment on it.
- sekhui, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1how about socialist, alcoholic, obama supporting meat eaters like me?
bitch.
- OSA608, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1comment dugg for being pro-veggie. im going on 15 years meat free. guy above seems to be full of hate. only people i hate are haters. funny that his name is 24imac.. i guess not all mac users are peta member pot smoking hippies after all. although i think a joint is exactly what this guy needs.
- xsquirrel378x, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1I like to grill artichokes during the summer. They kick ass on the grill ^_^
- 24imac, on 10/11/2008, -5/+1Buried for making a stupid vegetarian comment. I hate Hippies, Vegans, Liberals, Obama Supporters, Drunks, Potheads, PETA, and now You.
- MrTito, on 10/11/2008, -2/+6I wished the recipe involved spam. I would have had to digg it up.
- brotherfranciz, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2That would be epic, but I would have marked it as spam.
- Gabberwok, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2VI AGRA. Happy now?
- po43292, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Would you like some xamax or pen1s p1LLz 2?

- Observant1, on 10/11/2008, -6/+1 - fill a blender with cornflakes, add about 1/3 cup flour, add about 1-1/2 capfulls of spice classics or even walmart's lemon pepper seasoning salt.(makes a little strong here to cover everything) blend it dry (pulse bumping) to just well broken up. put into a bowl.
scramble 3 eggs with a little milk in another bowl. roll the chicken parts thru the egg, then roll thru the dry coating mix, bake on tray at 350 for about 75 minutes..flip it at about 40 minutes.
-shorten the time for breast strips. you can experiment with other seasonings if you like.
fat runs off, but the egg keeps it moist, longish baking time ensures it is fully cooked. its inexpensive, simple, low prep time, and delicious.- Observant1, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1ROFL, bury it before even trying something that might be good!
