- livefreedom, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0Yeah! We as Americans are too easily enamored with exotic juices from far away places. They are always marketed as having "magical" properties with outrageous health claims and very little science behind it. I can get real pomegranates or the juice for a fraction of the price. The Acai berry seems to be a hot one right now. It is very cheap and common in Brazil. Marketers get a hold of it and through hype and advertising, they turn it out for $40 per bottle. Have you seen what the Vitamin Shoppe is doing with it. Not to be outdone, they have developed their own brand of exotic juices for half the price. Of course, these juices are diluted with blueberry, grape and apple juices. I get twice the amount of pomegranate juice for $7 without all of the extra sugar. Works for me.
