The Best College Marching Bands - 2007
collegesports-fans.com — In light of his recent release of the 2007 Herbie Awards, Kirk Herbstreit made a point to rank the "best damn bands in the land." Like Kirk, I am from the midwest, and I remember when he was a mediocre QB at Ohio State (while I was a mediocre-at-best high school WR). But Herbstreit has a definite Big Ten bias...

- HBCUfan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Great to see some love for several HBCU bands. Guys like Herbstreit don't have a clue and don't care to see a FAMU or Norfolk State, so props to these guys for the love!
- trumpetgirl110, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I totally agree! I'm in the Ohio University marching 110, and we get so much crap because our school isn't known for football, so everyone thinks we must have a horrible band...I was so excited when I saw this!
- WVUChick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0This list is alright, but they forgot some of the best marching bands, such as the Pride of West Virginia, which is better than most on the list.
- ekesqueaky, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0"Now forming in the north end of Kyle Field, the nationally famous, Fightin' Texas Aggie Band!" WHOOP! Congrats to the Pulse of the Spirit of Aggieland.
- ns245205, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This is the article Ohio University needed. They work their asses off ( I am sure everyone else does too), but because we do not have that great of a football team... they are over looked. If anyone is interested seeing ohio university and ohio state and the same half time show... then next year ohio state and ohio university are playing each other and the bands will both be there. It is at Ohio state.. the horseshoe
- afwm1985, on 11/04/2007, -0/+0I got to see the Aggie Band for the first time at the OU-aTm game today and the halftime show confirmed what I have been hearing - there is no better band in America than the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. I don't even think it's debatable. None of the other bands on this list can do what the Aggie Band can.
