- cyberdork, on 02/20/2008, -4/+2You can buy such clocks already for years. Like this one at the MoMa store:
http://tinyurl.com/2nwy9o- miggie, on 02/20/2008, -0/+2That clock cost $75 his will cost at the most $5 if you buy it at 5 below or a dollar store. Why buy something when you can make it for less.

- Dested, on 02/20/2008, -1/+1Oh yah, lets all get right on that. Thats for the reminder. I almost went to sleep over here.
- Tr33fiddy, on 02/20/2008, -1/+1There's a man with his finger on the Dugg pulse...
ManU fan too. It all makes perfect sense. - Kailash.Nadh, on 02/20/2008, -1/+6You must be new.
- jupaneanu, on 02/20/2008, -1/+16pretty interesting clock, couldn't I just buy something like that?
- spammishking, on 02/20/2008, -1/+6But then you don't have the bragging rights to saying how ingenious you are to come up with and create such a witty clock
- cyberdork, on 02/20/2008, -1/+4Yes you can, for like $74. A bit pricy for my taste:
http://tinyurl.com/2nwy9o- daza, on 02/20/2008, -3/+4It's ok guys, it's not a Rick Roll.
- techfish, on 02/20/2008, -4/+2But is it a Tay Roll?
- gauravcreations, on 02/20/2008, -1/+5Intelligent!
- Herv3, on 02/20/2008, -8/+6I hope this guy patented the idea.
- Myku, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2Pretty fun idea!
- SysstemLord, on 02/20/2008, -1/+1Actually the idea is not new, I have seen hand watches with the same idea, you can spin into different time zones.
- iPissExcellence, on 02/20/2008, -5/+68add the minute hand and ill nominate you for the nobel prize in physics
- Tr33fiddy, on 02/20/2008, -3/+11Can anyone nominate anyone for a Nobel prize?
Nominate me for one of those Peace Prizes and I'll digg up your comment. Promise. - TheKorn2, on 02/20/2008, -8/+4The reason why the minute hand isn't on the clock is because the clock doesn't work as a world clock once it's added back in. (You gain/lose minutes as you rotate the clock through the time zones.)
- Tr33fiddy, on 02/20/2008, -2/+9Captain Obvious evades the forces of facetiousness yet again!
- kungfool101, on 02/20/2008, -2/+28Add a minute hand by sticking a second clock inside but mount it so it's freely rotating and and put a weight on it so it always keeps the same orientation relative to "down" Can I has Nobel nao?
- shoutsmurmurs, on 02/20/2008, -3/+0Almost as revolutionary as the original idea!
- Tr33fiddy, on 02/20/2008, -3/+2Technically it's twice as revolutionary.
- shoutsmurmurs, on 02/20/2008, -3/+0Almost as revolutionary as the original idea!

- trg100, on 02/20/2008, -3/+3Well, there's not an awful lot to go wrong.
- benroy, on 02/20/2008, -6/+2Does it do metric time?
It would have to be a decagon...
.sarcasm.- JudgeMonkey, on 02/21/2008, -0/+2That wasn't sarcasm, it was just a bad joke.
- everfalling, on 02/20/2008, -1/+3what would be better, but harder to make:
have corresponding windows on the bottom of the face of the clock for each time zone. then rig a digital clock to show the minutes through the window that will always rotate to stay at the bottom when you turn it. this way the hour hand moves but you can still read the minutes and seconds. i take the second hand off because there's no point in it if when you turn it the seconds jump. it'll be 12:00 and 0 seconds but flipping it 180 degrees seems to add 30 seconds to the clock. the ONLY thing that should shift when you roll it is the hour hand. - histgyro, on 02/20/2008, -2/+4hmm interesting
- mapkinase, on 02/20/2008, -5/+5This is really stupid. Sacrificing a minute hand for knowing the dubious time in Nairobi without subtracting n-hours. What about Deli or other places with half hour differences? Buried
- mindsnare, on 02/20/2008, -1/+8You're passionate about your clocks aren't you.
- TheKorn2, on 02/20/2008, -6/+1Who gives a crap about some backwards-ass island nation with more goats than people? 1/2 hour time zones are moronic!
- teh_techie, on 02/20/2008, -2/+3We have a 1/2 hour time zone in Canada... Newfoundland is GMT - 3:30.
Caracas: -4:30
Tehran: +3:30
Kathmandu: +5:45! - tim620, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2Last I checked, Delhi is in India and India isn't on an island. Sorry, it is NOT an "island nation". Plus, according to http://www.livestockkerala.org/livescen.htm there are 720 million goats in the entire world. With 1.1 billion people in India, you are wrong again. There are far more people in India than goats. Half hour times zones are more common than you think. There is even one in Canada (as teh techie pointed out). In many ways, the USA is the backwards ones, not India. Judge it how you will, but next time, get some facts straight.

- midejitsu, on 02/20/2008, -8/+2I call epic fail. It doesn’t account for AM or PM. I’m sure you can figure it out if you’re not as dumb as I am, but then all of the convenience is gone.
- Zippo, on 02/20/2008, -1/+3Boo, no Newfoundland Time.

http://www.turbogadgets.com/2007/02/27/the-world-c ... - Danl, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1Brilliant
- febryle, on 02/20/2008, -1/+1OK, 50 points to Gryffindor for originality, but that seems like an awful lot of work for little gain. You can find out the current time in Nairobi (if, for some reason, you need to) in about 5 seconds on google. Just type "time in Nairobi" and boom. Plus you get minutes and seconds too. Such a clock would have been cool 30 years ago, but it's useless in the internet age.
- CaptainHarlock, on 02/20/2008, -0/+2Should have removed the second hand as well. Perhaps that guy is time traveling in the video.
- hugeposuer, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1This is exactly what I was thinking. I never realized timezones came down to being seconds ahead of or behind us.
- SirDaShadow, on 02/20/2008, -0/+0What, no one mentions anything about the "Jack Sandwich"?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd_jap8Qjzk - ifknot, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1a nice novelty make, but just that, an hour hand only novelty clock for those too lazy or incapable of subtracting/adding n or n.5 hours to their current time, not some earth shattering invention that should be patented before someone else steals it, oh wait they did: http://www.turbogadgets.com/2007/02/27/the-world-c ...
- nazsco, on 02/21/2008, -0/+1Damn you all. it's a plagiarism.
It's a know (well, not much it seems) designer work.
The seccond edition of the original had a minutes hand, tied to a weight inside. that way it always pointed the right place. but i don't know if it was made by the same person.
and was in brused steel :) if anyone care.
yeah, and the day light saving times sucks big time. - jacenty, on 02/25/2008, -0/+0nice job.
