mobilecommandos.com — Old-school game tricks to help you get your retro on
- 1160 diggs
- digg it
- reviF, on 05/16/2008, -22/+10don't know if they're _the_ three coolest, but they're three _of the_ coolest.
- copypasta, on 05/17/2008, -0/+0Stop_using_underscores_fags
- killbert24, on 05/16/2008, -7/+240Why bother making a list like this if you are only going to mention three characters? There have been a ton of other games with unlockable characters. It is too bad because this list had a great chance of being excellent.
- theaceoffire, on 05/16/2008, -1/+23Not to mention one was a hoax.
- KMye, on 05/16/2008, -3/+4The question is, is the author an idiot, under 20 years of age, or just cruel?
- ileftfark, on 05/16/2008, -2/+9Because the title of the article wouldn't have made any sense? He probably thought of more afterwards, but had to throw them to the wayside due to the inflexible title. Poor planning, really.
- quomen, on 05/16/2008, -1/+14I was also quite surprised to see that it wasn't on three pages.
- seraph582, on 05/16/2008, -13/+2don't like it? Do it better. Do it yourself. ***** whiny baby.
- dynelol, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4Whining about whiners?
- dsmx, on 05/16/2008, -0/+5Running around in mercenaries as Indiana Jones or Han Solo was pretty cool.
- jc7012, on 05/16/2008, -7/+1testing new reply
- OrangeSoda31, on 05/16/2008, -5/+3I liked the old comment system
- ericthegreat, on 05/16/2008, -2/+3Exactly, how does this garbage make the front page? BURIED!
- W00DR0W, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1The least he could have done was put them in the title so I wouldn't get a bandwidth exceeded page
- Recluse, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1I agree, worst list ever as far as unlockable characters go.
- SteveMax, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1At least it's better than yet another "top 10" list...
Ok, it isn't.
- theaceoffire, on 05/16/2008, -1/+23Not to mention one was a hoax.
- Huangism, on 05/16/2008, -21/+2another example of "top whatever" buried
- Breticus07, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1It's better than another political article
- dynelol, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Politics ARE getting old. It's about time for another O.J. case to keep the U.S. talking about something else for a bit.
- Huangism, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1doesn't all "top whatever" should be buried
- Breticus07, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1It's better than another political article
- chris4404, on 05/16/2008, -14/+4First off, Mobile Commandos? What the Hell?
Second, I'm tired of old games winning every top whatever list for the sake of being old. There's been a lot of good unlockable characters post these. - starfocus03, on 05/16/2008, -2/+33I personally, like captain falcon on super smash brothers, but other than that I'm impressed with any secret character.
- Breticus07, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Except for Mr. Game and Watch
... thats his name right, sorry if I got that wrong- Mackofalltrades, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3Racist.
- xDreaminGx, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Ness will dominate captain falcon.
- inverselogic, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0ehh dreamin not in SSB 64...Falcon makes brawl pikachu look like n64 fox.
- allfatherblack, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1You sir, need a taste of life. Dont ever say that to anyone in real life, lest you receive a due punch to the gut.

- drkmccrthy, on 05/16/2008, -2/+64dugg for being the shortest "it" list ever.
- mark076h, on 05/16/2008, -1/+6and its not from MrBabyMan
- fragsta, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2Hell yeah. Some of them are excessive, but this is just lazy!
- iiiichaos, on 05/16/2008, -3/+19Minion was not the final boss in TM2, it was Darktooth
- NightcrawlerX, on 05/16/2008, -2/+29Mortal Kombat brings great memories.
FINISH HIM! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-NolhJYPg4
for those who are bored with all the violence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oe8eHZro0wc (skip first 18 sec)- TheWeez, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4Those sure bring back memories. Seems so long ago that you had to wait in line to play MK at an arcade.
- Teck64, on 05/16/2008, -12/+7This is lame. You can't even play with two OF THREE!!
This is a list of Fail.- mywhitenoise, on 05/16/2008, -3/+12Seriously, if I ever hear someone say "fail" in that manner, I'm going to kick him right in the ***** balls.
- actionscripted, on 05/16/2008, -2/+4And I'll be right behind to kick said person in the face when they drop to the ground clutching their balls.

- allfatherblack, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2ummm... he wasnt a secret. he was just an upgrade
- killbert24, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4He was a secret because no one knew you could play as super sonic. Its not like the instruction manual explained how to play as super sonic, at least in the first genesis games.
- DNABeast, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4I certainly didn't know about him and almost caught on fire when it first happened.
- Andrwmorph, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1That was definitely an oh ***** moment for me.

- dynelol, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1What if it was impossible to say Mortal Kombat without shouting it?
- Akodoreign, on 05/16/2008, -1/+4I am pretty sure Lu Bu is the coolest unlockable character ever
- namegotstolen, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1That game gave me such an ego trip killing thousands of inferior soldiers. Really made up for getting my lunch money stolen all the time.
- namegotstolen, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1That game gave me such an ego trip killing thousands of inferior soldiers. Really made up for getting my lunch money stolen all the time.
- doctechnical, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2My favorite would be the little dot in the VCS Adventure game.
- mark076h, on 05/16/2008, -5/+4what about yoshi in Mario64 ?
- dynelol, on 05/16/2008, -0/+10Seeing him on the roof isn't unlocking a character.
- OrangeSoda31, on 05/16/2008, -2/+1In the DS version you can unlock yoshi
- arcticblue, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4In the DS version you freaking start as Yoshi.
- dynelol, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2I forget about the DS version because it sucked to control Mario 64 on a DS.
- OrangeSoda31, on 05/16/2008, -2/+1In the DS version you can unlock yoshi
- dynelol, on 05/16/2008, -0/+10Seeing him on the roof isn't unlocking a character.
- GoMegaMan426, on 05/16/2008, -0/+10Dugg for Reptile. I remember countless arguments with my friend who said that Reptile did indeed exist. (I thought it was a lie) It was a long night full of Mountain Dew and microwaveable burritos and in the end he proved me wrong.
- Dested, on 05/16/2008, -4/+9Street fighter 3, Second impact

BLOOD CODE!
- BeeArePro, on 05/16/2008, -6/+3Was Missing No. considered an unlockable character? I wouldn't think so..
- Mikhail101, on 05/16/2008, -2/+4Noob Saibot, Drizzt Dro Urden, True Ogre??? C'mon i just named a few
- twiztidsinz, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1What game did Drizzt show up in?
Noob Saibot was mentioned, but Reptile gets the "Coolest" for being the first in a fighting game and causing the most "Yes Sir""No Sir""Yes way""No way""Ya-huh""Nuh-uh!" arguments.- Mikhail101, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Baldur's Gate 2 dark alliance, not many people have played it but hes a kick ass character
- KnightRicer, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Drizzt's in the first one too. Artemis is unlockable in the second, and just as cool.
- Mikhail101, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Baldur's Gate 2 dark alliance, not many people have played it but hes a kick ass character
- twiztidsinz, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1What game did Drizzt show up in?
- MightyBob, on 05/16/2008, -3/+23Oh come on, we all know the greatest unlockable character in gaming history was Mew in Pokemon Red/Blue. Seriously, who didn't spend months of their childhood trying every way possible to be the first kid in school to find Mew?
- missingnoh4x, on 05/16/2008, -0/+16I'm rather partial to Missingno.
- A11YND, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Gameshark + 0015D8CF
Damn.. Why do I remember that? - allfatherblack, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3Me. I didnt.
- bernsteino, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0Mew wasn't unlockable though.
- soupdawg30, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2I was too old for pokemon but Reptile in MK was badass.
- Shogi, on 05/16/2008, -23/+4No Solid Snake in SSBB?
Fail.- allfatherblack, on 05/16/2008, -14/+15No. Definitely not Solid Snake in Smash Brothers. You, sir, are the fail. In a few more years, when the golden generation of gamers has passed away or lost the hand-eye coordination to game properly, you can take your cute little opinion of Solid Snake in Smash Brothers and dance around the may pole with the rest of children, lying to them about how great it was.
Snake has no connection whatsoever to the Wii or Smash Brothers series itself, and an arguably irrelevant one to Nintendo in any case. Yes yes, first two were on the NES, blah blah blah, congratulations on your ability to Wiki "cool stuff". But the only reason that is the case is because it was that, or not at all. Everything about Nintendo stands adversary to everything about Solid Snake and the Metal Gear series (as it has become). Metal Gear Solid has no place on a single Nintendo console, and if it wasn't for its intense successes on the market, it never would have seen one again.
SONIC in Smash Brothers, however, is another case entirely. And if I have to explain why, then my time is wasted. Perhaps another of your opinions are of value, and I ask and encourage you to share them. But this one, you should hide away next to your collection of Pokemon cards and Kupi dolls (I dont ***** care how you spell that).
Until next time, shhh.- Shogi, on 05/16/2008, -7/+2See, if you actually knew anything about me instead of making assumptions based on your misinterpretation of my post you'd know that:
A) I hate Smash Bros.
B) I Hate pokemon.
C) I am a massive MGS fanboy.
Solid Snake anything is win in my book. Hence my comment. I don't fail, you do. - Klarth, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Holy ***** that's the worst ***** comment I've ever seen here.
And to think you've been dugg up. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD. - ParanoydAndroid, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Dude, all your pansy-assing aside I don't think you've actually played SSBB with, you know, actual friends.
He may have nothing to do with the wii blah-blah-blah, but there is very little more fun in an all out melee than being snake and just skulking your ass around laying mines, blasting people with fly-by-wire missiles, and tossing grenades into the middle of a rumble you're not involved in.
Obviously it's not higher end tactical gameplay, but damn it's fun. - juliandunbar11, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1no place? ahahahahaha.. what are you, 6 years old? stop crying about it and go to sleep you doofus.
- Shogi, on 05/16/2008, -7/+2See, if you actually knew anything about me instead of making assumptions based on your misinterpretation of my post you'd know that:
- android8675, on 05/19/2008, -0/+1Yeah, Solid Snake was in a press release before the game came out, so any character that's general public knowledge BEFORE the game comes out automatically makes it a non-secret character. SSBB, ugg.
- allfatherblack, on 05/16/2008, -14/+15No.
- FuNEnD3R, on 05/16/2008, -11/+0Haha I am glad to see Scorpion on that list. I remember my friendds and I were always talking about how to unlock him.
- MightyBob, on 05/16/2008, -0/+16Did you try turning the game on? That's how I always unlocked Scorpion.
- Rodalli, on 05/16/2008, -1/+7They could only think of 3? What gives?
- mrinsanity, on 05/16/2008, -0/+139Top 2 shortest lists ever:

- Angmar, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4You could do it with a variation on the Missingno glitch.
- Namesbond, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Yeah, you could only do it with a gameshark.

- soupdawg30, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3Name had nothing to do with noobs. It was Boon and Tobias backwards. They made the game.
- mrinsanity, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1That's why it was a joke (and a poor one at that, hence tha pause and then the *sigh*)
- CA55IDY, on 05/16/2008, -3/+1Who were Boon and Tobias ?

- bradpurchase, on 06/12/2008, -2/+1Down :(
- NeoCortex, on 05/16/2008, -2/+8So they limit the list to only 3 characters, and one of the chosen ones is an April Fool's joke? That's lame.
- DRUNKSLAMCHEST, on 05/16/2008, -7/+2I can't see the page so i don't know whether to bury it because of no vincent valentine or not.
