- BuddyDoQ, on 10/07/2008, -1/+4Terry Gilliam would do amazing things to God of War. Amazing things. It would be a hard R, and you will remember it for years.
Ratner will make a sub-par action flick, worthy of perhaps a rental, or in-flight movie viewing. It would almost certainly be rated PG-13, and you'll have forgotten it by the time you reach the parking lot. - FunkeyMonkey, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2Concur with Gilliam. His version would be pretty interesting for sure. Ratner...eh. He'll probably do up a decent action flick but it won't have any complexity or depth. He'll probably just beat us over the head with action sequences. Oh well. Better him than Michael Bay.

Seriously, several of these people have won best picture Oscars. Why the hell would they want to do a movie based on a video game? That formula hasn't exactly worked out in the past. - Nowtheworld336, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1I agree with Mikbunn, however the new Max Payne movie had trailers out and it looks awesome, so game-to-film movies are getting better, so more big namers wouldn't mind getting in on it.
- malignatius, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2Come on. The story in God of War is ridiculously thin, not even Ridley Scott will be able to save this movie.
Don't get your hope up kids. - anubis2night, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Story can be fixed, you need a director and producers with vision and a name to back it up then you can get a movie like this made right and with the proper scale and story. Personally I would rather see a rather thin story line made into a movie, that way it can be fleshed out for the masses without the gamers feeling like they were ripped off.
