- Gasdark, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40Jesus, ***** speed run. It's enough to say "Battletoads beaten". This game is harder than Mark Foley in a gym class at an all boys private school. I was seriously under the impression that it was unbeatable, and was in fact made as a litmus test for the identification of the second coming of christ. Only the actual son of God would have a chance in hell of getting past the second level. kudos
- mistermoxy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I used to be able to get to the sewers level as a kid. My brother and I actually beat the speeder bike level with two players. I had a sad, lonely childhood.
- AlexLand, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1The Mark Foley joke was a little hokey but aside from that, bravo. I usually peruse digg comments for the rampant stupidity but that made me laugh.
- ch4os1337, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2cool... but boring
- Zeekstah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19I totally had no idea the game actually went past the second level. this dude, is talented.
I can now die, as I have seen the end of battletoads. - xtmno3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I am happy it is not a TAS. The played ones like this are way better, because they take skill.
- MichaelStanton, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The TAS for this one, if I remember correctly, is a two-player completion; kinda entertaining, but a bit artificial.
- mobber, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4please MS give us this game in marketplace...
- PJBonoMan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Or just download it and play it on one of the ten billion systems that has a NES emulator?
- TheWizardsBaker, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15I thought battletoads was a test to prove if you where human or not. Apparently this guy is a robot.
- mark_1581, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well he did die about 5 times, so I guess that makes him half human. Maybe a cyborg?
Either that or someone on a hell of a lot speed.

- squaat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Did anyone else think that the ship at the start looked a lot like Serenity from Firefly?
- ThrasherC, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Holy bejesus! I never got past the speeder bike level, and that was back when I was a kid and had nothing better to do than play video games. I had no idea this game was so freaking long. I salute you, sir, for you have given me hope that I too might someday beat Battle Toads.
Edit: Nevermind...there's no freaking way. That game's just waaaay too hard. - j3one, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Yah theres no way. I wasn't able to beat speederbike level but once when I was a kid, and now I am 22 and _can_sometimes_ beat that level. Sheesh. Must be rom hacks :-P // Although I couldn't 'beat the last level of marble madness when I was a kid either and now it's beatable.
- floppyparty, on 10/10/2007, -8/+1The guy probably used an emulator which will allow him to play at reduced speed.
- Epyn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Yes this is why he got killed by a duck and didn't load-state it.

- cekim, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Rumblin Amphibians?
- dutchdude15, on 10/10/2007, -13/+0Am I the only one who hasn't heard of this game, and doesn't care how it begins-much less how it ends?
- xtmno3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9yes
- LeafsIn07, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I beat this game when I a kid without warps or a game genie. This guy is faster than I ever was and doesn't go for the extra lives, which is pretty talented.
- louiedog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Same here. I remember this game being hard as hell when I was a kid, but I didn't know anyone else who had it and without all the internet gaming forums I had no idea how brutal it was considered until a couple of years ago. I really want to pick up my nintendo and this game next time I visit my parents. I wonder if I still have what it takes.
- archer104, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Me too. We should start our own "I beat Battletoads" club so that we can die lonely.
- j3one, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm in...

- wastedlife, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Fantastic. Now lets see a two-player speed run, or a video of the insults and violence that ensue on the speed bike level when one of you ***** up just before the next checkpoint.
- Radan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This game is ***** evil. A game where the only way to finnish even the easiest level requires you to die uncountable times just so that you can remember the exact locations of those instant megadeath traps, could not come from anywhere else than from the freaking outskirts of the slum of freaking hell! I didn't even manage to pass first ultrafast flying toad squasher bike level.
- pinkisntwell, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1All speedruns are "tool-assisted" which means you can use saved states and you can slow the game down.
- Datyedyeguy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Not all 'speedruns' are tool-assisted. There are speed-runs that are done by people just recording them on the VCR, like this one. http://speeddemosarchive.com/ is one such site that does not allow TAS ( tool-assisted speedruns ), which this run came from.
- Xarddrax, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Check out 17:40-17:45 and tell us why his hearts never moved.
- Xarddrax, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0There are numerous times where he took no damage even though he got hit, plus at least at one time he "reset" to an early spot. Check out time 20:55- 21:05.... youll see its all a lie.
- donotclickjim, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1he still beat the 2nd level which was better than I could ever do. I give him props.
- donotclickjim, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1he still beat the 2nd level which was better than I could ever do. I give him props.
- jkill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I loved the fat beat when you paused the game!
- muddyhelmit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Does it make me a nerd when I watch a 25min Battletoads speed run in its entirety and then read all the comments posted about Battletoads?
- deathsquadx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2If it does you're among friends.
- ihate2reg4u, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1What game is this?
- MasterFunk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Think it is Doom 3.
- blanktarget, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Never thought I'd see past the 2nd bike race.
- MasterFunk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Is that Doom 3?
- archer104, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If by "Doom" you mean "Battletoads" and by "3" you mean " ".
- goodshorts, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0dj_sea2005 nice propellerheads logo.
- sk545, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1rediculous. This game is WAY harder than this person makes it look, plus the levels are long as hell. Remember, he is using warps as well, so its longer than this video. Man...whoever beats this whole thing must have been
some kind robot, there is just no way. What makes the game very difficult is that you don't know whats coming ahead...and it just comes up and you have less than a millisecond to react. Its all memorization, but even with super memorization and super reaction time, YOU WILL NOT beat this game and die from a combination of frustration, anger, and dehydration. Lets not even talk about 2 players together...the game is just plane evil.
