IGN: Most Anticipated PC Games of E3 2008
pc.ign.com — E3 may not be the bonanza it was in years past, but this year's show should at least reveal some new info on a few anticipated titles. With mammoth companies such as Activision-Blizzard pulling out of the show's lineup, though, you can't help but be concerned for the show's future. Here are the ten games that we just can't miss.
- 1053 diggs

- SirPopper, on 07/05/2008, -58/+4Dupe http://digg.com/nintendo/IGN_Nintendo_s_Most_Antic ...
- Kossu, on 07/05/2008, -1/+27One is for Nintendo, one is for PC. Hardly a dupe.
- Aggort, on 07/05/2008, -3/+19Sir Popper is sirtenly an idiot.
- lolwhatno, on 07/05/2008, -1/+10That pun was so bad it actually made me lol.
- SirPopper, on 07/06/2008, -1/+1Me too SORRY! ;D
- jugglingjon, on 07/05/2008, -0/+7Do you seriously submit an article then constantly scan other submissions to look for similar ones? Get a hobby.
- SirPopper, on 07/06/2008, -1/+2When you have friends you know what they do, don't you!
;D
Cheers
Maybe digg is my hobby, could be couldn't it?
- SirPopper, on 07/06/2008, -1/+2When you have friends you know what they do, don't you!
- SirPopper, on 07/06/2008, -2/+2I am sorry!##I am an idiot siRiously and I wanna say I am so SORRY, it was too late for me and I haven't read the whole headline, sorry for this bad scan, and a big SORRY to my digg friend Optimusprime and congrats that you have made it with this submission and my Wii goes down :-(, K That could tell me that there are more PC-user than Wii-user here on Digg!##I am sorry!
- optimusprime01, on 07/05/2008, -10/+18@SirPopper
That's no dupe, the link you gave is for wii's most anticipated games. This one for PC, they are different if know or not. IGN has most anticipated games section for almost all consoles.Thanks- SirPopper, on 07/05/2008, -16/+2I am Speechless!
- funkyloki, on 07/05/2008, -2/+3Obviously not.
- Blandyman, on 07/05/2008, -3/+3You're an idiot and that's about all. We all actually wish you would stop speaking...
- JudgeMonkey, on 07/06/2008, -0/+9At least he used the reply feature.
- SirPopper, on 07/05/2008, -16/+2I am Speechless!
- BluesFan, on 07/05/2008, -1/+15I hope Battlefield 3 will be there or atleast announced!
- nobody98, on 07/05/2008, -1/+4Yeah me too. It must be in development!
- supermanly, on 07/05/2008, -3/+24Definitely gonna pick up Left 4 Dead (it's Valve, it has to be good), Spore (obviously), and possibly Crysis Warhead depending on how it turns out.
- jgtg32a, on 07/05/2008, -0/+7If Crysis Warhead is priced as an xpack I'll get it, I enjoyed the first one and just yesterday restarted it with all patches and a few tweaks I found online its a good game.
- lacronicus, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3I wouldn't expect it to be priced like that. Warhead is supposed to be just as long as the original (longer, if you consider that it consists entirely of the open-ended portions), and contains a new MP portion, along with the old.
- jgtg32a, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2Yea, I know I'm just wishing. The other thing I'm wishing for it that Warheads patches are compatible with Crysis, if that happens then in my book all is more or less forgiven.
- destron, on 07/05/2008, -1/+7+1, Left 4 Dead looks like the *****.
- FLarsen, on 07/06/2008, -1/+5Almost dugg you down there, thinking you wrote "looks like *****".
The +1 confused me enough to re-read it though.
- FLarsen, on 07/06/2008, -1/+5Almost dugg you down there, thinking you wrote "looks like *****".

- p13t3rm, on 07/05/2008, -2/+7I don't know if Fallout 3 would be my top pick, but it should definitely stay on the list.
***** yeah, Left 4 Dead is gonna rule. - Ducttape21, on 07/05/2008, -1/+41*Checks list*
Okay, Left4Dead and Spore are on the list, I have no reason to complain. - nobody98, on 07/05/2008, -4/+6farcry 2 seems pretty promising from the gameplay footage I've seen.
And no diablo 3 on the list!- benologist, on 07/05/2008, -1/+7Diablo 3 probably won't come out this year. Blizzard haven't set a release date, they're not cash-hungry so they don't have to push it out in a hurry, and if they released this year they'd only have 6 months to market it at the 99.99% of people who aren't like us and reading about it on game blogs and digg.
- chocobolord, on 07/05/2008, -0/+20Blizzard isn't at e3 this year.
- nobody98, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2Damnit I was really looking forward to some more details and gameplay footage of diablo III
- koltregaskes, on 07/05/2008, -16/+2I left the games industry about 7 years ago and not played anything for about 5 years, yet I can still recognise the names of the games in this list. So much for originality, eh? :-)
Spore looks interesting, though.- quaunaut, on 07/05/2008, -0/+8Thats not even ***** possible. Rise of the Argonauts? Alpha Protocol? Heck, Crysis wasn't even announced 5 years ago.
- Koush, on 07/05/2008, -1/+22Don't let Fallout 3 suck....I beg of you Bethesda.
- MattSFJ2, on 07/05/2008, -1/+4But Bethesda has always been awesome! And all their developers loved the original fallouts so much that they feel obligated to rock!
- lennybird, on 07/05/2008, -0/+4I've lost quite a bit of respect for Bethesda after Oblivion; for anyone who played and "beat" Morrowind, you know it didn't come close. Hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes.
- dunnace, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1I'm sorry, I really did try to like morrowind, but damn it's too old to enjoy now! I can't stand it, call me jaded but it's just too frustrating for me. At least Oblivion looks nice.
- GassyTurd, on 07/05/2008, -1/+0In the pics it looks like an FPS. It's going to be kinda weird having action points with big 3d zombies standing in front of you. I hope they get this right.
- destron, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2Actually, whether it is an FPS or not (I'm guessing it'll probably be a first-person/third-person system like Oblivion), I don't believe there have been any first-person perspective screenshots yet.
Oh, and they're "ghouls", not "zombies".

- ZombieKiss, on 07/05/2008, -1/+1Bethesda never fails to deliver. I'm looking forward to Fallout 3, and hopefully in the next three years a new TES (with multiplayer support).
/crossesfingers - EvilFerret, on 07/05/2008, -4/+5"Bethesda never fails to deliver.:"
You obviously haven't played Oblivion.- destron, on 07/05/2008, -1/+2The biggest two problems Oblivion had were the combat, which seemed a little disconnected, and the facial animations, which were lackluster. The story was a bit on the cheesy side, too, but it wasn't terrible (and Patrick Stewart made it sound even better).
Other than that, I think it was a pretty good game. - ZombieKiss, on 07/05/2008, -2/+1Uhh, I played the hell out of every TES game. You obviously are playing the wrong game. May I recommend the "Sesame Workshop" series--or perhaps "Lego Adventures".

- dha07030, on 07/05/2008, -1/+7Maybe I can sell my PS3 to get a new graphics card, damn there are just too many good games
I am joking about selling my ps3 btw (disclaimer for fanboys) - ajpalma, on 07/05/2008, -16/+119top ten most anticipated games list from IGN

1) Game company who paid us the most- Jack8274, on 07/05/2008, -16/+4Do you really think Valve has to pay to make their games look awesome? You sir are quite silly. Though I do admit that the list is on IGN, so it is 90% money based.
- dha07030, on 07/05/2008, -2/+22Who is paying you to say that?
/jk - haterofps3, on 07/05/2008, -0/+7Its like watching MTV or Much music it isn't about the music its about selling you something. IGN isn't about reviews anymore its about selling you a game that may or may not be crap or medicore at best.
Stopped visiting that site right about the time gamespy and IGN merged not because of the merger but because it highlighted what they were about.
MONIES - rockrapdude, on 07/05/2008, -2/+5Was it Gamespot you were thinking?
- mrfreeziexp, on 07/06/2008, -3/+1I think you have IGN confused with Gamespot.
- dunnace, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1... I like IGN...
- dullnation, on 07/05/2008, -8/+5I don't care about any game other than Mass Effect 2. I just finnished the first and I don't think I've ever played a game with such a compelling story.
- tboutcher, on 07/05/2008, -3/+44StarCraft II
- sadisticmind, on 07/05/2008, -2/+3cant forget Diablo III
- iofthestorm, on 07/05/2008, -0/+6Blizzard won't be at E3, but that's probably my most anticipated game as well.
- samuelmcm, on 07/05/2008, -1/+5I just creamed me self a bit thinking about it.
- winampman2, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Most Anticipated Game of 2009
(...if we're lucky) - SoulGrub, on 07/08/2008, -0/+0Pity Blizz won't be there to steal some of the console newbie market
- Infinitedigga, on 07/05/2008, -4/+3Fallout 1 was the best. 2nd i didn't enjoy much. Big hopes for 3rd. Fallout fan for life.
- CaptEnder, on 07/05/2008, -2/+9Dugg just for the list being on one page. Brilliant!
- Ridikul, on 07/05/2008, -0/+5It's crazy, but it just might work.
- Seemefearme, on 07/05/2008, -3/+7Alan Wake
- Po0py, on 07/05/2008, -4/+1No DragonAge?
Imbeciles. - blitz718, on 07/05/2008, -9/+2HAHA, i didn't know half of these games even existed, and no Warhammer Online?! An obvious pay for exposure list.
- iofthestorm, on 07/05/2008, -0/+5If you didn't know half those games existed you are not a PC gamer.
- dbsmoker, on 07/05/2008, -6/+1I was thinking, "Wow, that's it?" Then I realized it said 'PC' games.
- stone2020, on 07/05/2008, -10/+5I thought PC Games died last year.
- VinnieDaMac, on 07/05/2008, -15/+5Here's the real list:
1) Starcraft 2
2) Diablo 3
3) Blizzard's new MMO project
4) Wrath of the Lich King
5) Spore- daharris, on 07/05/2008, -11/+21) Blizzard's new MMO project
2) Diablo 3
3) Starcraft 2
4) Wrath of the Lich King
5) HL2: Episode 3
* fixed- lennybird, on 07/05/2008, -0/+1I wish Ep3 was coming out this year...
- daharris, on 07/05/2008, -11/+21) Blizzard's new MMO project
- mojoel, on 07/05/2008, -1/+4(Don't) bet on Duke!
But seriously, I wish 3D Realms would throw us a bone!- Jhiaxuz, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3They have been for the past 10 years.
- EvilFerret, on 07/05/2008, -0/+4***** the bones, they need to give us some meat! I'm starving :(
- Sawta, on 07/05/2008, -6/+8Haha! Empire: Total War is more anticipated than Spore or Far Cry 2? This list is completely ***** ridiculous.
- L4WL3RS34L, on 07/05/2008, -1/+3The Total War series has been around for a long time. Them making a 18th-19th century game is a big deal.
- erydan, on 07/05/2008, -0/+1Total War ROCKS! I have been waiting for Napoleonic version since the first Medieval. Hope they make huge improvements on the campaign part of the game though, if your going to steal ideas form Europa Universalis at least do it properly.

- RSS14, on 07/05/2008, -5/+3Yeah seriously, where the ***** is Starcraft II. It seems that Blizzard has the decency to not bribe these people.
- erydan, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3Blizzard is not attending E3
- RSS14, on 07/06/2008, -0/+3Ohh, thanks for your insight. Sorry for my ignorance :)
- SoulGrub, on 07/08/2008, -0/+0I wonder why not. I'd think it is an opportunity to steal some of the huge console market
- erydan, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3Blizzard is not attending E3
- sadisticmind, on 07/05/2008, -6/+1are these all we have to "anticipate"?
Im saying (no particular order)
bioshock2
halo3
diablo3
starcraft2
spore- Acglaphotis, on 07/05/2008, -1/+2Halo 3 already came out. Maybe your thinking of Halo Wars?
- ZeeZee2k, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3halo3 is gonna be on PC?
- popfrogs, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3Halo3 is not gonna be on PC?
- Acglaphotis, on 07/05/2008, -0/+3I don't think they have said anything about that.
- xino, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1I think Halo 3 is going to be on PC, but they haven't announced it yet.
- sadisticmind, on 07/05/2008, -0/+1that's my anticipated PC Games of 08
dont get me wrong, the xbox version is cool and all but i LOVED Halo on pc. idk, FPS just feel better on it. - EvilFerret, on 07/05/2008, -0/+4Well, the list is for E3 2008. Bioshock 2, Halo 3, Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 are not coming out in 2008, hell I wouldn't even hold my breath for a 2009 release on most of those.
- sadisticmind, on 07/05/2008, -1/+0true but at least its a better list then what they have.
- CryTekEmployee, on 07/05/2008, -4/+2DoomIV *****
- BowieX, on 07/05/2008, -4/+4Is it merely a coincidence that 9/10 games on this list are in the war/assassination genre?
Tomb Raider Underworld should be on this list; although most people make fun of it, it's still very popular, and the sequel to Legend (which was obviously way too short) is looking very impressive so far (with motion capture and stuff), and is being pretty hotly anticipated on various websites, well, that *I've* seen.- JorgeGT, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1I finished the first 6 and the quality was getting poorer with each one after the third.
- BowieX, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1And what about TRL (and TRA), by the hand of a completely different design company?
- JorgeGT, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1I finished the first 6 and the quality was getting poorer with each one after the third.
- finn, on 07/05/2008, -3/+2mixed list, half of those on the list I've never even heard of, but the rest of it includes two of MY personal most anticipated games: Spore and Fallout:3... and possibly Rock Band 2
- Kanten, on 07/05/2008, -0/+20"Yeah, we miss Westwood too, but we're glad that their Command and Conquer series has found a good home at EA LA."
WHAT IS THIS BLASPHEMY?- Pinmonkey555, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1But without EA LA we wouldn't have the gem that is CnC 3. No wait, without them we'd be playing a GOOD follow up for the Tiberium series.
- PosedMagnet, on 07/05/2008, -4/+2Well since Starcraft 2 isn't on that list, I'm guessing it's safe to say that it won't be out until ***** end of year 2009 so they can show it off at E3 next year.
Great. - Niubai, on 07/05/2008, -1/+2Am I the only one waiting for Mafia 2 ? Mafia was such a great game ...
- Striff, on 07/05/2008, -0/+10Mirror's Edge needs some love.
- bblande, on 07/05/2008, -7/+4Buried for IGN.
- Zacee, on 07/05/2008, -4/+1Everyone realizes this list is "Most Anticipated of E3" right? The major developers don't even show up to e3 anymore, electing to release info at smaller scale shows. I suspect these games are the ones who actually will be there with info.
bblande is right, stop posting ***** from IGN. - Kingpin100, on 07/05/2008, -4/+1Nice article
- welliwonder, on 07/05/2008, -4/+1buried as spam, E3 sucks now.
- VizitorQ, on 07/05/2008, -2/+0Didn't I just read somewhere not to expect a whole lotta lot PC games on E3?
Aside from the fact that E3 is totally irrelevant, IGN sux donkey ballz, and this list was missing quite a few interesting upcoming games (enroute for PC) I think all the games on that list will ship PC SKU.
Actually besides GTAIV, I can't think of a one recent and upcoming game I actually care two things about, that would not have been released or enroute for PC... - jaykaywhy, on 07/05/2008, -0/+0To everyone asking why StarCraft II or Diablo III wasn't mentioned in this article, do some deductive reasoning..
- nirav72, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2Kirov Reporting!
- krackajap, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2Wait....did it just say 2K is rumored to be developing an X-Com game?!?! Please please please please please let this be true. Does anyone know anything about this?
- dandonia, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1yeah but dont go making it fps or real time - turnbased is the xcom way
- ABadPerson, on 07/06/2008, -1/+2Can't wait until I can download them all!!!
- stridox, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Mirror's Edge???
- dandonia, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1ps3
- NWVG, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1I'm so glad that Liquid Entertainment's Rise of the Argonauts is on this list. Some of the nicest local developers a town could ever have. Now that they are getting back to non-licensed games they can once again show how creative they are in building incredibly convincing worlds. They are one of the last few great PC developers out there.
- ortucis, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Most of these are coming to consoles and except for Farcry 2, I don't see how these games won't carry the same old blurry and featureless feel of consoles unless developers take time to optimize it for PC.
- magusat999, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Two things I noticed - most of the games are PC, and most are not MMO (or MMO FOCUSED). Thank God for both of those things!
- dbXXd, on 07/06/2008, -1/+1Far Cry 2? Crysis Warhead? Jesus Crytek, pay someone off why don't ya... besides, Crysis was nothing but eye candy as the gameplay was your typical run through the plot and shoot ***** scenario IMO....
- stiffman88, on 07/06/2008, -1/+0you can download all your favorite games at http://www.downloadanygameonline.com save hundreds of dollars on buying games
- SOS84, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2No Project O.R.I.G.I.N.?
- Cebo, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Yeah, wtf? The game looks like a winner.
- Namesbond, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Red Alert 3!
- Cebo, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Although Doom 3 took a lot of ***** when it came out (lot of it rightfully so), I still can't wait for the fourth installment. I guess Mars, demons and fond memories of first (and second) Doom is a winning combination for me.
