- PikachuMan, on 10/11/2007, -47/+12Sigh, more fanboy-blog drivel. For one, label a rumor as a rumor. Two, it's a Japanese game for a primarily Japanese marketplace-- the Xbox360, for all intents and purposes, doesn't exist in Japan.
- MouseCircus, on 10/11/2007, -9/+21Fanboy blog drivel? Did you even read the article, or bother looking at the source? Don't be so quick to dismiss something just because you don't agree with it.
N'gai does state that it's a rumor, but he certainly confirms that Microsoft and Namco have been discussing exclusivity. And he seems certain that it will happen. Hopefully, we'll know for sure after E3.
I do partially agree with you, though; he should have mentioned that it's a rumor. A very credible rumor, but a rumor nonetheless.

- SparQy, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2It's weird that in the world of video game consoles, more selection != better prices. Producing games on multiple consoles costs the developers more, and so prices keep climbing.
The only thing console competition is the least bit good for is innovation. And without Nintendo's Wii and XBOX's Live, we wouldn't even have much of that. - jeepnut24, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8Hardly an eastern only game, I can't wait to pick this up.
- staticneuron, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6http://namco-ch.net/list_game/list.php?hid=28
I know many here cannot read japanese but you can translate with google. This is the japanese release list for the PS3 with katamari as the second entry.
I don't believe N-gai is a fanboy but his reasoning about timed exclusives and eternal sonota is a little flakey in the face of cellius. What on earth makes anyone thinks namco is turning when three new games (on list above) and another three games from cellius are announced? - Responder656, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Buried. The PS3 version's release date had already been announced, and Amazon is offering pre-orders for it.
http://www.amazon.com/Namco-Beautiful-Katamari/dp/B000P297IY - whyteeford, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Because we all know that when a retailer sets a release date and takes pre-orders, that's exactly when it's coming out...

What happened to the "RUMOR" part on Digg.

- jermo, on 10/11/2007, -7/+17I'm really hesitant to put much stock in this rumor, since Namco already announced the project for all 3 major platforms.
- djSyndrome, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10"since Namco already announced the project for all 3 major platforms"
Beautiful Katamari has been announced for the 360 and PS3. There was no Wii announcement. The 'Katamari on all three platforms' stems from a rumor earlier this year. - rockforever, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6There was a Wii announcement shortly after the PS3 and 360 announcements. The only thing was it was slated for a month after the former 2.
- rockforever, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11I just did a Digg Search for Katamari with the oldest first and only frontpage stories. The stories have been taken down there respective sites because the were 3 months old.
The PS3/360 versions were due out Oct 17, with the Wii version due out Nov 14 - zeldafan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@jermo (#7202176)
The developers were unsure about a Wii version, they were having trouble making use of the controller and were iffy about releasing a version for it.

- reddevil3, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3I got the latest issue of Game Informer yesterday and the preview mentions both PS3 and Xbox 360, though when online play is mentioned they only say "Xbox Live is the perfect platform for us to implement it." There are no specific PS3 details in the preview...so who knows.
- djSyndrome, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Adding fuel to the speculation, this month's GamePro has a preview for BK. The PS3 isn't mentioned *anywhere*, only the 360.
- inajeep, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1Maybe a timed exclusive then? Personally I hope it comes out for all the consoles. I'll by the cheaper version for the Wii on launch and then possibly a used version for the 360 for the achievements.
- chris4404, on 10/11/2007, -20/+2I've never heard of this game, should I care?
- waterdrop, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18Yes, you should. Remember Katarmi Damacy?
- KarmaPoIice, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Yes.
- jake8689, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9yes you should
- halik, on 10/11/2007, -8/+1Nope, never heard of it... im guessing some kind of anime thing?
- Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23Who cares? Rolling. Yes, rolling is the thing. And pompadours. Very stylish. What do you think, prince? Ah, who cares? You are too small. Make it bigger, faster. You have this long to make it this big. Fabulous!
- davidhildreth, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11KATAMARI DO YOUR BEST!
- Ocelot13, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TspXnODc8IQ
enjoy - JurneyAhed, on 10/11/2007, -6/+5Bastards. I'd have loved this on the Wii
- enjio, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8Na-Naaaaaa, Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na Katamari Damacy!
- davidhildreth, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1this game will be fun, but it really should look better.
- hasslinthehoff, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0It surely is beautiful... as long as Microsoft doesn't jack up the price...
- ShogunWarPig, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5BS there is no way that the developer would miss out on the money they would get by going cross platform. This title may be exclusive (highly unlikely and probably one of Microsoft's numerous BS viral *****) I cant see there not being a Katamari game not on another console.
- gwolf, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2That would not be in Microsoft's best interest, more likely fan boy's than MS. I dislike exclusivity in general, it seems anti consumer when there's no technical reason for it.
- gincarnated, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Dualshock/Sisaxis is perfect for Katamari so I hope it's on PS3 for my best enjoyment.
- CReyes4182, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Katamari Damaci would be perfect with the sixaxis. If you think about how the game is played (two analog sticks) it would be awquard on the 360's controller.
- GerrardIsLegend, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Whats the point of losing exclusitivity for more sales, if you're just going to go exclusive again? What happens if the PS4 is much better than the XBoxwhatever.
- rcomegys, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3staticneuron, Nice catch. That should just about settle the issue for everyone.
I don't know how anyone could call this article credible. The author's basis for the "undeniable" pattern is long-standing Playstation exclusives Ridge Racer 6, Ace Combat 6, and Pacman becoming Xbox exlusives... WTF? Pacman is a Playstation staple? Hardly. Seeing as no Katamari game has yet to prove itself on the Xbox platform, the developers would have no basis for making the switch.- razorsharp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Not to mention that Ridge Racer did come out on PS3 and Pacman is available on the PS3 by purchasing Namco Museum for PS2. I'm sure Katamari will come out for the PS3, but really, who cares? The franchise has already been exploited to the point where the original creator wants nothing to do with it, is there really anything that's going to be in the new version that's going to incite me to buy it? No. You're going to roll a ball around and pick that stuff up. That's why I didn't buy We
- Recoil, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I really hope this doesn't turn out to be true. I was so looking forward to playing this game on Wii - it certainly fits Nintendo's new philosophy of simple and casual gaming. You'd be able to tilt the controller to start rolling the ball and use the d-pad to reposition the Prince. And then of course the 1-button would do a quick 180 degree spin. They could even let you add Miis to play with. Namco, don't let us Wii owners down!
