- Undertakernv, on 10/02/2008, -6/+6No GBA slot, no deal. I still play Golden Sun too often to upgrade.
- st3vo, on 10/02/2008, -3/+2Hope for homebrew and thou wish may come true.
- JLecker, on 10/02/2008, -1/+11No GBA slot? I guess this means the Gameboy really is dead :/
- Nikole, on 10/02/2008, -1/+5Awesome! Now I can add my DS slim to the pile of Nintendo handhelds that are now obsolete. Seriously excited though.
- InsanePenguin08, on 10/02/2008, -1/+4Dugg, but not really excited, it just doesn't seem like it's got enough different. Also, I still love my Zelda DS Lite.
- lilhelper, on 10/02/2008, -3/+10That SD memory card slot is going to make it possible to hack this thing...
YES!- LucerinRed, on 10/02/2008, -1/+7you mean it's not already??
/me points to the M3, R4, N5, etc...- st3vo, on 10/02/2008, -4/+1Go read the article my friend.
- LucerinRed, on 10/02/2008, -1/+3Yes, I have, and I don't get what you're trying to point out.
So what if there is an SD card slot, we've been hacking this thing since it came out with adapters that use SD and MicroSD cards. You can pick one up for under $15. I have one right now with 40 games on it from various systems and plenty of homebrew.
- LucerinRed, on 10/02/2008, -1/+7you mean it's not already??
- IndustrialJones, on 10/02/2008, -3/+9Anyone want to buy a DS Lite? :P
- sinizuh, on 10/02/2008, -1/+5Oh god, I haven't been this excited since Malibu Stacy got a new hat.
- behrens14, on 10/02/2008, -1/+2*thinks* Quick! Now is your chance, you're at the top of the page to start a fanboy brawl! uhhhhh....take that N-Gage!
- dhessi, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3I don't understand the need for the camera addition.
We already have cell phone cameras... and, you know, real cameras. - LucerinRed, on 10/02/2008, -1/+2Hurray, I'll buy this one and then give mine to my wife, then I can steal it back if I want to play GBA games.
The only thing this really hurts is games like Guitar Hero and the new Tony Hawk which REQUIRE the GBA port. oh well. - syl1985, on 10/02/2008, -1/+1Oh wells; I am getting this because it is thinner and purrrdy =)
i don't use the GBA slot myself so I cannae wait! - SquareEnix, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3come on Nintendo, the camera! 640 x 480? please...at least something reasonable, like 1024 x 768 for goodness sake. 640 x 480 should be a resolution confined to video or something.
- IndustrialJones, on 10/02/2008, -2/+1I didn't see them mention 640x480, but I did see them say that it would be 3mp... which on my camera is 1632x1224
- Raptor007, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2It was 0.3 mp, not 3 mp.
1024x1024 = 1,048,576 px = 1 mp
640x480 = 307,200 px = 0.3 mp
- Raptor007, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2It was 0.3 mp, not 3 mp.

- thekow, on 10/02/2008, -1/+2Not worth trading in my DSLite, just yet. Let's wait to make sure I can use my M3/R4, and for the first price drop.
- Mewchu11, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2DSi? Wow that's an unfortunate name.
It makes me just wonder what Ganon is up to - animenick65, on 10/02/2008, -0/+5Crappy update. Now they are updating for the sake of it. .3 Megapixel camera? Seriously? They are milking consumers now. The DS never has and never will be worth $130 with the PSP at $170. They are sitting on their asses raking in large profits while providing last last gen graphics, gameplay and technology.
- Raptor007, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1I agree that this is a crappy update; they're just milking those who will re-buy the product because they liked it the first time.
However, even if the DS and PSP were the same price, I'd choose the DS. The DS has the right button layout to handle more traditional gaming, like those the PSP might run, plus it's got the touchscreen for new, unique styles of play. (Portable Scumm games on the DS are amazing!) And cartridges yield way better battery life than spinning discs.

- Doomsan, on 10/02/2008, -1/+2I just want R4 or M3 and i'm happy
- Raptor007, on 10/02/2008, -0/+1The only part I'm excited about is the built-in browser, but you can buy the browser for a regular DS anyway. It doesn't seem worth it to lose the GBA slot, so I won't be upgrading.
As for the SD card, it's a cool idea, but I've already got microSD via my R4DS. And I'm sure Nintendo isn't going to let you run apps from their official SD slot.
And seriously... a 640x480 camera? Is there anyone these days who doesn't have better than that on their phone? Why would we want it on the DS?- Jessicaah, on 10/30/2008, -0/+0Yeah, in Ireland anyway, the normal mp is 1.3 or 2.0 so most people have less than 3. A lot of people would use the camera, especially if they had their DSi with them and they saw a celebrity or something. Then they can put it on a SD card and send it to their friends through a pc/wii.
- SWAZILLA, on 10/12/2008, -0/+0geeze, you guys sure do your homewerk. internal cam is 640x480 webcam, external camera is 3.0メゴピクセル!( thats uber one three three seven for a handheld gaming device), I wont even be buying a camera now.
