- LoopyChew, on 04/18/2008, -6/+30Really wishing it were Who's Next or Nevermind, but as long as albums are on their to our consoles, I'm happy to wait a little longer.
- SpectralSounds, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3Yeah, Nevermind was rumored to be released already. Looks like its a long ways off now.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2I'd rather have In Utero.
- Slayer166, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3They're both really good what about insecticide. Maybe they should make Rock Band: Nirvana.
- notque, on 04/18/2008, -3/+1by the time i get my xbox back from repair, hopefully nevermind will be out
- xGORDOx, on 04/18/2008, -4/+3I just got Rock Band two days ago, and I though Who's Next was already available?
You guys are gonna kill me if if you say it's not. :^(
I was so looking forward to it.
Anyone see this yet:

Pretty cool. - ePuck, on 04/18/2008, -2/+2Show me the popular songs already! If it takes 3 years to 'remaster' these super old tracks pick something newer then.I don't buy the excuse that it takes a 'long time to find the original copies of these songs' as stated in the article. Their intent is not to release a ton of awesome songs though. I"m sure some songs cost more to include and rock band would have to pay more royalties
- oblique63, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2I wish it were Painkiller... it would be awesome to play 'nightcrawler','leather rebel', 'all guns blazing', and 'between the hammer and the anvil' on there...
- toppgun, on 04/18/2008, -3/+1here is a video interview of upcoming tracks on rockband

- SpectralSounds, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3Yeah, Nevermind was rumored to be released already. Looks like its a long ways off now.
- RedJeans542, on 04/18/2008, -2/+8Another reason to love DLC Tuesday.
- logicalnoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4new album plus 3 other tracks. Sold.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/18/2008, -1/+26Doolittle, automatic purchase.
- SpectralSounds, on 04/18/2008, -2/+3I'd still prefer Trompe Le Monde, even though most Pixies fans don't really appreciate that album much.
- Syphon8, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1The songs on it don't sound like there other work.
Put the rest of Death to the Pixies up, plox. Debaser, Where is my Mind, Velouria?- mywhitenoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Death the the Pixies? That's a greatest hits album.
- HolyChimp, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Isn't Greatest Hits generally a good thing? If they release that with the best songs from all the other albums then where's the downside?
- mywhitenoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Death the the Pixies? That's a greatest hits album.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2I appreciate Trompe Le Monde. "Head On" (even though it's a cover song) and "Alec Eiffel" are two of my favorite songs.
- Syphon8, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1The songs on it don't sound like there other work.
- petebot, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3Debaser and Gouge Away alone would be worth it. I haven't bought either of the guitar games yet, but this announcement kind of convinced me to drop the giant load of coin on Rock Band.
- Malevolant, on 04/18/2008, -3/+2I hope anyone who's been boycotting the RIAA, realizes that if you buys these songs, you aren't actually boycotting them anymore, you're supporting them again. That goes for all GH3/RB DLC.
- ronfez, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Yes, and it will be discounted since we already have Wave of Mutilation....unless they sub in UK Surf (drool)
- AwesomeMonster, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1surfer rosa.
- SpectralSounds, on 04/18/2008, -2/+3I'd still prefer Trompe Le Monde, even though most Pixies fans don't really appreciate that album much.
- MewTwo, on 04/18/2008, -3/+23Wishing it was...
They need to put...
I won't care about this game until they add...
Howabout... ?
When are they going to add... ? - theNazz, on 04/18/2008, -1/+11Judas Priest and The Cars... SOLD!
- McSploogins, on 04/18/2008, -2/+11So... when can I use my Les Paul on PS3?
- logicalnoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1activision says no but seperately sold strat controllers are now available and nyko is shipping a supposedly universal controller soon.
- ferrariman60, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3Oh man, I bet that Nyko controller will be horribly low quality.
- lunachique, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Nyko and MadCatz are incredibly bad quality.
- ferrariman60, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3Oh man, I bet that Nyko controller will be horribly low quality.
- djSyndrome, on 04/18/2008, -0/+14As soon as Activision pulls their head out of their ass.
- shondell, on 04/19/2008, -0/+0I think Harmonix has given up on trying to convince Activision to pay fair and are now hoping we forget about the situation.
- logicalnoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1activision says no but seperately sold strat controllers are now available and nyko is shipping a supposedly universal controller soon.
- SubKamran, on 04/18/2008, -9/+2I love Judas Priest, I can't wait for this. ***** EPIC.
That said, I'd have chosen Painkiller. Night Crawler... come on...- KyjL, on 04/18/2008, -1/+4FFS STOP SAYING EPIC
- MetalMitch, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1When referring to Painkiller its almost completely necessary to use epic
- Blandyman, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1No, KyjL is right. Epic is one of the worst phrases the internet has ever spawned. That and fail.
My apologies, because it's not the use of it online that is awful... it's when people think that for some reason saying these words in real-life is ok. There's in a kid in my fifth period programming class who plays DOTA all period and whenever almost any goddamn thing happens he says "FAIL" and sometimes, I'm assuming just to piss me off, says "EPIC FAIL."
Now, I wanna ask... the next time I hear this, can I punch him in the dick REALLY hard?- HolyChimp, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1That would be Epi... wait, I like my dick unpunched...
- EricAnderton, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Painkiller rules, but Screaming For Vengance is just as good. Electric Eye anyone?
The solo sections in this are going to be brutal though.
- KyjL, on 04/18/2008, -1/+4FFS STOP SAYING EPIC
- KnockoutNerd, on 04/18/2008, -4/+8I was hoping I would be playing Who's Next by this time. That's one of the main reason I got this game, I love The Who.
- CWal37, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Well hopefully we'll be getting an even bigger amount of Who stuff in the future, it seems like that's what he was hinting at. Plus, he said that some of the time so far has been digging up master tracks, and if it takes them a few more months to make sure everything is a master it's well worth it in my mind.
- ShureThing, on 04/18/2008, -2/+2craziness. I mean, i'm still going to hold out for nevermind, but this is surely a step in the right direction.
big digg right here. - Vhaeos, on 04/18/2008, -4/+4Seems as if spreading their work load out amongst many different songs/artists and not entire albums would better please their user base. Maybe it's 'cause I don't listen to Judas Priest much.
- oblique63, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Screaming for Vengeance, Painkiller, Defenders of the Faith.... all good albums, you should check them out
- wild, on 04/18/2008, -2/+4Not really excited for any of those as a full album. I'll buy a couple tracks off of each, but none of them scream "dedicate an entire play session" to me.
- blakeage, on 04/18/2008, -8/+4Um, does JP appeal to their target market??????
- funkeymikey, on 04/18/2008, -0/+10I don't think you used enough question marks.
- MasterGrief, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1What gave you that idea???????????????
- radink360, on 04/18/2008, -2/+12It's better than some lame ass emo rock band. It's classic metal!
- funkeymikey, on 04/18/2008, -0/+10I don't think you used enough question marks.
- BryanG412, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1not bad not bad
- freezerburn666, on 04/18/2008, -2/+4what they need is an open source rock band, like frets on fire (where i have thousands of songs)... for free...
this can work since my xbox360 x-plorer guitar works fine with usb in vista and linux, theres also been applications developed for the drums peripheral, so perhaps it isn't too far off in the future....- EvilCan, on 04/18/2008, -2/+5I guess I'm the only one who likes to download my music and movies legally? Sure the software is open source, but you'd have to find yourself a ton of creative commons music to play.
- Pardis, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2While it is nice, the problem with Frets on Fire is almost all of the music is not timed correctly. You have random notes or poorly timed notes ( not in time with the tabs ). I would rather buy my songs and have them right
- pojut, on 04/18/2008, -8/+9They should totally put out the album "Kill" from Cannibal Corpse on there...can you imagine trying to play that on expert?
Whether you were playing guitar, bass, or drums...lol, good luck :-)- pojut, on 04/18/2008, -2/+6I'm confused..why am I being buried for suggesting that they put in an album on there that would be crazy hard to play? I would LOVE to try to take up the challenge of playing that album on expert...
...not to mention a bunch of people would try to growl the lyrics...think of the hilarity that would ensue:-)- ferrariman60, on 04/18/2008, -7/+1Death metal goes in Guitar Hero, not Rock Band.
- pojut, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3I think that four people rockin' out to Cannibal Corpse would be crazy fun. Of course, the drum kits might not be able to take the abuse...
- oblique63, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1yeah, I hope they just release a Rock Band: Metal edition, especially made to withstand the abuse, complete with a double bass pedal... that would be awesome....
probably not gonna happen though...
- pojut, on 04/18/2008, -2/+6I'm confused..why am I being buried for suggesting that they put in an album on there that would be crazy hard to play? I would LOVE to try to take up the challenge of playing that album on expert...
- creativetfh, on 04/18/2008, -11/+3am i the only person who would rather play more recent songs?
the Boston songs they have on there now are fun, but i would rather play something more recent, like Cute is what we aim for.- petebot, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Prepare to be buried like crazy, dude.
- oblique63, on 04/18/2008, -0/+5I would rather play a game that can withstand the test of time, thank you very much...
- ybotoby, on 04/18/2008, -1/+7Rock Band has you by the nuts.
- tastypastry, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1I wish I didn't have to buy the whole set though, I just want to rock out on the guitar.
- shovelihave, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1what if I like it?
- haylel, on 04/18/2008, -4/+19if they added dethklok - dethalbum, i'd be psyched as hell
- EricAnderton, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Not half as psyched as when you're done being motivated. ;)
Don't worry, it'll happen. It'll come bundled with the special edition Dethklok Rock Band guitar that is too sharp to even pick up or play. - oblique63, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2that would be brutal.... but oh so METAL!
- EricAnderton, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Not half as psyched as when you're done being motivated. ;)
- timfitz99, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2That's a good JP album, but I'll only buy a few of the songs... Electric Eye and You've Got Another Thing Coming are must-buy. Screaming for Vengeance is probably-buy.
That Cars album has a lot of good stuff on it, and Doolittle is 100% great songs. - chadu, on 04/18/2008, -4/+2Of course, not for Wii. Cry! Rock band with no DLC is lame.
- ferrariman60, on 04/18/2008, -1/+4Then play it on a real console. Ya know, one with lots of built in storage.
- Syphon8, on 04/18/2008, -2/+3Because Wii doesn't support USB harddrives, right? Right? *rollseyes*
There's no need for them to have gimped it so much, I really don't want to shell out 400 bucks for an Xbox when I'll probably only end up getting Halo and Rockband.- mywhitenoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Right. It doesn't support hard drives.
- Syphon8, on 04/18/2008, -2/+3Because Wii doesn't support USB harddrives, right? Right? *rollseyes*
- ferrariman60, on 04/18/2008, -1/+4Then play it on a real console. Ya know, one with lots of built in storage.
- namelessXsilent, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1finally
- hollismb, on 04/18/2008, -0/+13Freakin' Pixies: Doolittle! You have no idea how awesome that is! 'Here comes your man'! 'Debaser'! 'Monkey Gone to Heaven!' So awesome.
I wonder what they'll do about the fact that 'Wave of Mulilation' is already in the game, thus making it not exactly a full album download.- Syphon8, on 04/18/2008, -4/+3Death to the Pixies!
- sup34dog, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2people who don't get it certainly aren't Pixies fans :(
- alaceiffel, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3Totally agree!!! Any Pixies album (or more tracks would be fantastic), but if I had my wish, I'd request "Surfa Rosa"...
- thedharmabum, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3I'm hoping for the Wave of Mutilation UK Surf mix to make up for the original already being in-game... it's probably more popular than the original, certainly my favourite, and I'd love to play that beat all slowed-down.
- Syphon8, on 04/18/2008, -4/+3Death to the Pixies!
- NuclearBunny, on 04/18/2008, -4/+3where's my Van Halen ??????
*sniff*- Coffeedemon, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3We need some Hot for Teacher.
- dunezone, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3I was wondering when the first Cars song would come out and here they surprise me with a full album.
- RyanBlueThunder, on 04/18/2008, -3/+4I'm hoping for Soundgarden's Superunknown
/first it steals your mind and then it steals your... - PinkFloydFan, on 04/18/2008, -3/+2Oh man, I can't wait to buy that as soon as it comes out!
...Oh right, I got the red ring of death last night. Stupid Microsoft :( - Munceenuts, on 04/18/2008, -2/+4Not bad but what happened to Nirvana's "Nevermind" and the Who's "Who's Next they promised a while ago?
- EvilCan, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3"We will have a specific announcement about that coming up soon regarding some work that we have coming down the pike with The Who in general that I think people are gonna be pretty happy about."
Quoted straight from the article I'm sure you didn't read.- Buelldozer, on 04/18/2008, -2/+3Still doesn't address "Nevermind" and I DID read the article.
- EvilCan, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3"We will have a specific announcement about that coming up soon regarding some work that we have coming down the pike with The Who in general that I think people are gonna be pretty happy about."
- armin84, on 04/18/2008, -4/+2This price is to low for this album
- oblique63, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3I'm willing to bet that the people who are digging you down have never even listened to Judas Priest....
- Matt174e, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1I listen to lots of Judas Priest. Screaming for Vengence is alright, not worth very much to me.
- oblique63, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3I'm willing to bet that the people who are digging you down have never even listened to Judas Priest....
- BadLeroy2000, on 04/18/2008, -1/+6Doolittle as an automatic must buy for me. I think it's awesome that the Pixies are getting recognition for this. Now can we get Surfer Rosa, oh and my ultimate indie rock guitar album, Radiohead's The Bends!
- mywhitenoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3***** yeah for The Bends!
But indie rock? Are you retarded? Capital Records is not indie.- BadLeroy2000, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1While I wouldn't consider Capitol Records an Indie label, I most definitely consider Radiohead still an Indie band. I don't classify indie artists as what label they are on. Just because an artist puts out an album on a major label, and "sells out" as many would say, doesn't mean they lose all indie cred.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3***** yeah for The Bends!
- mlvassallo, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2The Cars? Hell Yes!
- warplayer, on 04/18/2008, -5/+4If it takes that long to dig up the tracks and remaster them, then why not go after something a bit more modern for the first few months of album releases? Maybe the Smashing Pumpkins album from last year? Shoot, anything from RHCP post-californication would be EASY to put in the game compared to Judas Priest or Who's Next.
- Soonago, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Dugg for suggesting Zeitgeist in Rock Band.
- warplayer, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2It just seems logical to me. Same with Green Day. They are a classic punk three piece, which translates very well to Rock Band.
- ToneDeff, on 04/19/2008, -0/+0I thought the same thing while reading the interview warplayer. Big RHCP fan here and would love to play Velvet Glove, Fortune Faded, Especially in Michigan...etc
- Soonago, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Dugg for suggesting Zeitgeist in Rock Band.
- Syphon8, on 04/18/2008, -3/+3Need to make In Search of The... By Buckethead. 45 minutes long song lul.
- rulezgetbent, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2$$$$$$$$. After buying the game with the sets. All the modifications that make the peripherals more solid, and also extra peripherals, and then song after song after song, and song packs, and now song albums. I've probably invested hundreds of dollars in this game....
But i love it. - BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1I guess if you don't want to fail Moving in Stereo you'll need to be a voice throwing, sound based entity.
- Rizmaster, on 04/18/2008, -2/+1Where is Who's Next?!
- r0ryb0ryalis, on 04/18/2008, -4/+4Needs moar Dream Theater. Maybe some Blind Guardian and Symphony X for good measure.
- YellowSnowDemon, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3As awesome as those three bands are, it'll never happen. They simply wouldn't make enough money to be viable. Enjoy getting radio rock for all music games.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/18/2008, -4/+2Well they put up a thrasher pack, and then another pack with Paramore and Serj Tankian...so there's room for more ***** bands.
- YellowSnowDemon, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3As awesome as those three bands are, it'll never happen. They simply wouldn't make enough money to be viable. Enjoy getting radio rock for all music games.
- omnirusa, on 04/18/2008, -3/+3Not one mention of Metallica yet they are easily the most requested band on their site, as well as the band that has the most customs created for GH2/3, and the most downloaded DLC to date.
I dont doubt though that if they can get the masters, and get Metallica onboard that they will get it done.- xenonflash, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4Uhhh, they came out with a 3 track pack with And And Justice for All.., Blackened, and Ride The Lightning shortly after the game's launch.
Not to mention that Enter Sandman is on the disc.- warplayer, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Yeah, I thought we had Metallica love already. Sure, they missed some great songs, but other bands need their time too, even if for just 2-3 songs.
- Coffeedemon, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Hopefully we'll get all of Master of Puppets once Harmonix finishes filling that dump truck full of money.
- MewTwo, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Any time my boyfriend and I go online, and the other person is the leader, they always pick Enter Sandman. Seriously like 70 percent of the time. We hate it. Stop.
- xenonflash, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4Uhhh, they came out with a 3 track pack with And And Justice for All.., Blackened, and Ride The Lightning shortly after the game's launch.
- kriminalintent, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1There has already been a full album download. Boston's first album from 1976.
- thedharmabum, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Not quite - 6 of the 8 tracks DLC, one on-disc, but we're still short one track ("Let Me Take You Home Tonight"). Why they didn't just make it the full album is a little puzzling.
- evilangela, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1I was talking about this with a couple people today, and one of them pointed out that apparently that last track has different authoring credits, like an additional author of the track or somesuch. Which suggests to me that they had trouble getting the rights to that last song and decided to just release the rest of them.
As always, Harmonix can't just release any track they want, they have to have approval from all the right people. If someone who owns part of the rights says no, Harmonix can't do a thing about it.
- warplayer, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1That's what I was thinking! You can go download all of Boston's self-titled album, except for one track, right now!
- thedharmabum, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Not quite - 6 of the 8 tracks DLC, one on-disc, but we're still short one track ("Let Me Take You Home Tonight"). Why they didn't just make it the full album is a little puzzling.
- olbap, on 04/18/2008, -9/+1You are all a bunch of tools. Wow, I can't believe they figured out how to get people to pay 90s prices for music again. Tools to the end, a bunch of media whores....
- Soonago, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2Or they just want to play a game and have fun in their free time. I know. That affects you tremendously.
- Coffeedemon, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3I recall CDs costing more than 15 bucks back in the 90s and they didn't have built in kareoke for Judas Priest.
- BabyWookie, on 04/18/2008, -0/+6I want Nine Inch Nails' "Broken". That would be epic.
- petebot, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1The only NIN album I'm not ashamed to listen to...
- BabyWookie, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3Really? It's not my favorite NIN album, but it's definitely the most "guitar-heavy" and "rocking" one, which is why I think that it would be epic for Rock Band.
- titlesaysitall, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Finally someone says it, I want to beat the ***** out of my guitars on Wish and Happiness in Slavery. Of course Mr. Self Destruct would be just as awesome.
- petebot, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1The only NIN album I'm not ashamed to listen to...
- omnithought, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4YES! Awesome album to start off with! Early metal FTW!
- oblique63, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3I just hope they release some Maiden at some point to compliment this.... Powerslave would be awesome to play through...
- SteveMax, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1Hell yes. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner would be quite possibly the only gaming moment to which the word "epic" would actually apply.
- NeoCortex, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3Man, I wish Microsoft would allow USB hard drives. My 20 GB is filling up quickly with these Rock Band downloads. And the first party drive is too damn expensive.
- tehknotte, on 04/18/2008, -3/+3Please put an Arcade Fire album!
- Dnuts, on 04/19/2008, -1/+0Siamese Dream anyone? Or how about The Blue Album?
- plethorex, on 04/19/2008, -1/+4Could be get some Tool please? How about some ***** Tool?
- MewTwo, on 04/19/2008, -3/+2I hope they DON'T put any Tool.
- bubbakja, on 04/19/2008, -1/+2No one will be able to play the drums!
- plethorex, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Try playing Blinded by Fear on expert drums. I do think Danny Carey uses a lot of complex rhythms and fills, but typically the issue in Rock Band is speed.
- sheki, on 04/19/2008, -5/+3I'll never pay over $.25 or a song. Until then, they get nothing.
- bnoj13, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Be reasonable man, you're already only paying $.50 a song if you consider each track its own song (which it technically is). Considering places like iTunes charge $.99 just to LISTEN to one song, being able to PLAY that one song on four instruments for only $1.99 is a hell of a deal. They could've been bitches and priced it at five bucks a song but they didn't, so I wouldn't trash them too much.
