Video of working custom firmware 3.30 OE for PSP
qj.net — To the doubting Thomases out there, here's a working video to prove that the custom firmware 3.30 OE is ready for the public. Also, the reason why it's still not released is explained in the video. Dark_Alex has once again officialy p'wned Sony's recently released firmware.

- alsoDCJoeDog, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Oh Yeah!! I always love it when DA see fits to make a new version of his custom firmware. He even sacrificed a PSP (bricked it) to get this to us, now THAT is dedication folks.
- bigbadgoat, on 10/12/2007, -17/+7good thing his psp had a hardware failure that had nothing to do with software. Good job, moron.
At the same time, In DA we trust my psp is so much powerful because of him. - seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2No.. No that's not a good thing.. "moron"
- bigbadgoat, on 10/12/2007, -15/+6why digg me down? His bricked psp had nothing to do with his software. It was a hardware failure. Something physically broke inside his psp. Stop speading bs about his bricked psp. Nothing should be said to even remotely question to competence in DA.
- pathy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I was under the impression that DA had the mod chips installed, so even if his firmware did break it (And I'm guessing quite a few do while he's testing), he could recover it.
So yeah, only a hardware failure would really stop one of his PSPs working. - alsoDCJoeDog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11WTF are you getting all pissy about, I am using 3.30OE-A right now, I trust DA with my PSP more than SONY, and they made the damned thing, If DA says he has a new CF out I will get it right away, if I brick my PSP(it;s because I did something wrong, but his software is made so gad damned well that it has a possibility just above 0% of happening, and I only say that because nothing is absolute, hell solar flare could kill my computer's HDD right now, but it;s not likely to happen. Now if you'll excuse me, I have DJ Max Portable 2 and Innocent Life gaming to get back to. OH YEAH!!!

- DTJunkie07, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2I love how it seems like all the people who contribute information/video tutorials about how to install this stuff sound like 15 year old stoners. Just throwing that out there.
- kidd3ckz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+115 year olds shouldn't smoke pot, it impairs the learning ability.
or at least it did mine and i was 19 before i started smoking- i can just imagine how stupid i'd sound right now if i had started smoking earlier...

ever tried reflashing an older bios and had a power failure dumbass?
its the same issue, when reflashing a bios if all the code isn't transferred (or 'bad' code, for a mismatch in firmware's), you end up with a 'bricked' PSP.
Point being, that if the bios wasn't reflashed, no error would have occurred. It just so happens that when doing trial and error, you write a little bad code - I am sure this has 'never' happened to you when writing a program huh. - Hamsterpotpies, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2But... Will it blend?
- ilandboi14, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0too bad qj is a terrible knock off of digg cus this is good news
- narunet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Too bad they aren't trying to be like digg and have fully written articles from their staff. Dumbass.
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2All this 'p'wnd' talk and still no homebrew dev has been able to create a PS1 emu that is even remotely as good as Sony's. I don't care what the reason is, Sony has 'p'wnd' the homebrew devs in that department. I also suggest that some people try to build their own 'secure' system and then see how much easier it is to hack something closed than to hack something open (to adjust for the average digg age group: look at how easy it is to mess your bedroom and get mummy angry compared to how hard it is to keep it clean).
- gemadouble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Crazy stuff. I wish I still have my psp, but its gone for good.
Good luck to you all who are installing the new CF. - jacko1990, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So... what new features and advantages are there to 3.30 OE-A over 3.10 OE-A?
I am considering upgrading, but unless there's some killer new feeature, I'm not so sure...- smackhero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i think i'm running 3.10 (i think) and i can't get Burnout Legends or Ridge Racer to work. will this upgrade change that? and what exactly is the modchip for if custom firmware lets you boot unauthorized ISOs? anyone know? i'm a noob to this stuff (just got my PSP a week ago).
- GliTCH82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I could get both of those to work when running 3.10. You should make sure that is what you're running, go System Settings --> System Information (second from the bottom) and it will tell you on the 2nd line of that screen. One thing you have to make sure of is that you have any UMD in the drive while you're running an .ISO or .CSO backup from the ISO folder on your Memory Stick, it's true that if you go to the firmware configuration screen by holding R while doing a cold start power on you can enable the no UMD feature but it doesn't work for some games. So keep that at default (off), leave a game UMD in the drive, and try running your ISO/CSO
- smackhero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@GliTCH82: wow, thanks, i didn't even know you could configure the firmware like that. i'm using 3.03 OE-A i guess. and i don't have any UMDs to put in the PSP, do i need one to get it those games to work? or is it just my firmware version?
- GliTCH82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah you need to have a UMD in the drive to get most games to work. Like I said, you COULD enable the "no UMD" feature from the configuration screen but that doesn't work for some games, so it's best to leave that at default (disabled) and leave any UMD in the drive. Only game UMDs will work, a movie will not.
- joei7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0does it work on TA-082
