- jus1haz2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7There are alot of dumb ads... to go through on those damn blogs.
- Shayer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Holy *****, 3 ***** links to get to the video. Thanks for the direct link datag
Buried. - masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1I'm not saying that it isn't annoying to go through two blogs to get to YouTube, but I'd just like to make the point that GoNintendo and Joystiq are both highly respected gaming blogs.
- ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Am I the only one who can't get this video to play? Most other videos on YouTube work great for me, but this one just sits saying "Loading.."
I am behind a corporate firewall, but like I said... I can play other youtube vids just fine.

I think the Wii lost this one. - heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6That's only 1 of the 4 TV spots, you can view the other 3, here:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Oy3jihtJKuc - armbar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2DiamondIce, that Evolution of Dance video's been on YouTube for 7 months. If the Wii commercial was viewed at the same rate, it would be at approx. 17 million views. Granted, it's still under, but not by 2 orders of magnitude :)

Thank You Captain Obvious. - rick2k, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7unfortunately its not the most viewed video of all time on you tube... its just a tiny bit off ;)
- Oates, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20yeah..pretty misleading.. most viewed TODAY is very different than "most viewed video on youtube"
- tc811, on 10/12/2007, -12/+6yep, so I'm gonna have to bury this as inaccurate.
- dongiaconia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is it most views in a single day?
- ahsen74, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1Doesn't matter, the video has been pulled due to copyright infringement
I got to see it, then tried to watch it a second time and it was gone.- stealthboy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6... which just tells you how screwed up the whole "copyright" thing has become. It's a commercial! Wouldn't you want your commercial, which you already paid for, SEEN BY AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE? Morons. I'm sure it wasn't Nintendo that called for its removal, but probably some new "rights" nazi at YouTube that gets scared of any official commercial video now.
- Harabeck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Umm, I just watched it. It hasn't been pulled.
- loof, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4still there for me too....
Why would they want to remove free advertising? - TheGuy20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's posted by Nintendo. How can it possibly be pulled. You're nuts. http://www.youtube.com/wii
- ahsen74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ahh. Most excellent! The original video linked from the Joystiq page was not this official video. It was of a camcorder recording of the commercial from some guys monitor/TV. You could here them making comments and laughing during some parts of the commerical. The second time I tried to watch that video, it had been pulled.

- superfly007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Looks like a blog link, no thanks. Nobody cares about your blog.
If you really wanted to contribute you would have posted the direct link to something meaningful.
buried.- engrishGamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Um, I doubt it's his blog. GoNintendo is a HUGE Nintendo blog site. And all they do is post the latest Nintendo news so why don't you actually go there before bad mouthing it...
- seanthebond, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah, trust me, I would LOVE to run GoNintendo. For god's sake its a major Nintendo fan website.
Considering they got a Wii from Nintendo before it launched, its not just a 'stupid' blog.

anyway -- the commercial is good. It does what Nintendo seems to be doing -- aim people who don't play games. Unlike SONY's freakish or trivial commercials, this one gives a clear message -- get the Wii and you will have FUN.
No tech blabber (which is what is turning off the average joe). No display of complexity (even though we know games like ZElda and Metroid will have plenty of it) and subtle relativety to the DS Lite, which is being praised all over the place by non-gamer as we all know.
It's a great combination for Nintendo. With that 200$ M budget, if they keep it up with their 'disruptive' philosophy, we've got the next iPod-like "must have" gadget right here. - ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4*blocks Microdat*

- ryogahibiki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22The ad is average, imo. But it's still 1000X better than those stupid / obscure / scary PS3 ads.

- ataja, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Well, it's finally happened. You've lost me for a while digg. Way too many "articles" on game consoles. You wouldn't know anything else is happening by just visiting digg.
I'll check back later. Until then, have fun gaming.- bradleyjx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It only happens once every 5+ years, people are excited about one area of technology and they're showing it in droves here.
...and I will have fun gaming. - Edrick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It's the gaming section of a social bookmarking site. The Wii launches in 2 days. Seriously, what did you expect?

- streetstealth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7This is the most Japanese-themed western-market ad I think I've ever seen from Nintendo.
It's cool; I know from working with Japanese-American companies myself that being seen as explicitly Japanese by American audiences scares the conservative Japanese businessmen, but it would appear that they were ok with letting the cultures intermingle for this ad. I think Nintendo Japan just trusted Reggie on this one... and it turned out great!

- mofotronimus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it's kinda endearing to think that a huge company like nintendo set up a YouTube account -even if it wasn't nintendo that did so.
- trunkster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nintendo just posted the complete commercial on YouTube in better quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5cPVP_llfo - ravitek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Imagine if Nintendo shelled out the cash to put this entire commercial in the superbowl commercial lineup.
Better yet, advertise a football game designed for the wii. - Chesterfield, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sad...I'll probably be dugg down for this, but given the outrageous amount of Digg articles on the Wii, there should be a separate sub-category on the left side-bar linking to just the Wii posts.
