Wiitar Hero watch!
youtube.com — The uses of the Wiimote still to amaze me. This is using the computer game Frets of Fire and the Wiimote as the guitar.
- 401 diggs
- digg it
- bokchoi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Link to the script here: http://www.rhythmgamer.com/
Site also contains more videos.- KiaserLies, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1its not guitar hero, its frets on fire
- fyrehart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Beat out the wii version, eh? Very nice.
- DarkStalker, on 10/12/2007, -17/+11That looks like total hell.
- negativefx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4too bad you're getting dugg down...it does look like it's not very...umm...ergonomical. And the nunchuck is a pain in the ass sometimes...it just doesn't register movements, which is plain to see in this video when the guy strums and nothing happens.
- zephc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2More than likely, its just his timing was a bit off and so he was missing the notes (resulting in the screech or no sound at all)
- Spooky, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1You must have missed the message.
Graphics don't matter to Wiitards. - Antialias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Spooky,
He didn't say anything about the graphics. But even if he did, this isn't a finished game, just some guys test program running on a PC. I guess PC graphics suck then? - Aldrenean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The problem is not having an exact point at which the nunchuck registers the "flick," so you don't get enough accuracy sometimes. Also you can't move your hand AT ALL except on notes. Still pretty cool though.
Oh, and Frets on Fire pwns Guitar Hero.
+1
- quacker912, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Looks effin' awesome.
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3one more reason for me to get a Wii....
(I know I'm behind, but don't fault me I have no $$)- r0ck3tm4nn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Well, a lot of us want a Wii...we just can't FIND them.
- Nugolot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Thats what she said
- negativefx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4ZING!
- twister6284, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I like the guitar-playing concept displayed on the left; it is similar to DDR. But I can't see what the player is doing with the Wiimote. Arrrgh.
- CapeKid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1He is hitting the different buttons on the controller face to hit different frets. Perhaps even using different combinations, like B alone A+B, A alone, etc.
- ramcosca, on 12/04/2007, -0/+1That thing on the left is called Frets on Fire... it's been out since.. ooh... Guitar Hero came out? Ever heard of that game? Guitar Hero?
- ImTheDarkcyde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1im not sure if its youtube or what, but there is some serious delay
- indraneel24, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i pardon your diggs, but
BALLIN'! - redsox59, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3what is he using to fret the notes?
- computermatt, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1"GlovePIE is Windows-only." that's super gay, make a mac version!
- negativefx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14why don't you make one, computermatt? your name leads me to believe you know a thing or two about computers.
- corevette, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6'gay' is not a synonym for 'stupid'
- Shamrock13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This makes me want to get a Wiimote and a Bluetooth adapter just for the computer.
- adavid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0if red octane (and now i think activision) wanted to put guitar hero on the wii, it totally could, just add a nunhuck type attachment as a fret board, wont be very guitar feeling but i think it would still work
- CCoe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I don't understand these games. Why go to the effort of making the wii act like a guitar? Why go through the effort of learning to play the higher levels of this game with some skill? Why not just learn to play the guitar? I assure you, you will get a LOT more action.
- FlapJaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think my friends and I will stick with Guitar Hero.
- mechanisma22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks for pointing out frets on fire its a cool peice of software. I don't think they would release a commercial PC Guitar Hero because of the music copyrights and stuff.
- truegodofwar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1ahh, more wiitards.
- RationalAntaxia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1do u need to use GlovePie or can u use the mac version to use Frets on Fire?
- ThankTheCheese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow that was great.
Was the motion of flicking the nunchuck the thing that was playing each cord, or was he pressing one of the buttons on the nunchuck? It looked like it was the flick of the wrist, but I find in games such as Wii Sports Boxing the wii finds it hard to detect when you do multiple "flicks" of the wrist in quick succession like that. - Stimpo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The Number One question is...Why Are You Playing "Frets of Fire"??
- TigerGD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Because it's a free game that's accessible to a lot of people, and it's easy to import and add in songs. If there was a genuine PC version of Guitar Hero, I would have done a script for that instead. Even throw in some Nunchuk wammy bar action.
