Even if he was, his biggest streak is amazing - Jokinen, a star centre, has NEVER PLAYED A PLAYOFF GAME. Not even due to injury either, its just in his 744 game career, the teams he's been on have never made the playoffs.
But yeah, this article pretty much blows and I'm CERTAIN lots of blind digging by non-hockey fans occured here. Two weeks and even though he's a star, he's not a superstar. Luongo goes out for two months was much bigger news and never made it to the FP.- diam0ndice9, on 11/29/2008, -0/+2He was drafted by the Kings, then traded to the Islanders, and finally broke out with the Panthers. That should explain everything. I live in South Florida and am a die-hard Panther fan, but their lack of success can't be blamed entirely on him. Put a real team around him and he's is going to the playoffs.
- littlegraydude, on 11/29/2008, -0/+3Dude, 397 straight games as a star player is an accomplishment, you can't deny that. Regardless of whether he's played in the playoffs or not, that's nearly 4 straight seasons without missing a single game to injury, illness, personal reasons, fatigue, etc.

Trevor Linden of the Canucks played 482 consecutive games and had the Iron Man title in the late 90s - early 2000s as a result, Glenn Hall (a goalie!!) played 502 consecutive games betwen 1955-62, and in the 70's Garry Unger did 914 games in a row.

- jmask5, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2This is odd. Yesterday 3 of the top 10 videos overall were NHL videos and for the past month really regular NHL stories have been making it to the front page. Having said that 387 is a pretty good Iron man streak especially in Hockey .

The only thing is, it seems the "lets submit everything and hope for front page" members have taken notice and have been posting total meh articles like this that mix in with the awesome stuff.
There are really so far only 2 or 3 people, myself included, who have been submitting good quality hockey stuff to the front page. I'm getting kind of worried that if we start getting them on TOO frequently, its going to ruin the quality of the stuff that's posted, a la Basketball and Baseball sections.
Or maybe I'm just ranting too much.
