Try these IPs to test out the new system pre-release: 66.249.93.104 and 64.233.179.104 - is your site still in the top results?

- thejadedmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0this is gonna help me so much! 2 websites that are nowhere near the top climb to the top when you search for the orginizations they represent!
- jeolmeun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Google English? For England?

captcha cache! - KillerJ59J, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Now, if I search my name my personal site is second, huge improvement. Glad Google is still working on what got it famous in the first place and keeps making it even better. :)
- mocheeze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like this one better too. Damn, this seems faster than normal Google too. :)
- soda0289, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yah it works better and is faster although i think this could be due to the fact that no as much people are using it as much as google.
- romulusadz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it's good to know google cares about something else than those stupid Pack Downloads, and Google Talk crap.
- Piunyu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Thankfully, "miserable failure" still works :P
- Wawert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0indeed, maybe google hasn't grown power-crazy.
- crtrue, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5For the more paranoid out there, the WHOIS on the IP addresses are good.

# ARIN WHOIS database, last updated 2006-01-24 19:10
# Enter ? for additional hints on searching ARIN's WHOIS database. - grim_reapa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is great... my site is now second in results :D
- skytimelapse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mine is up too- I like it... how is this not on the first page of webmasterworld?
- compuXP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No change for me... one site I go to though went down!
- brandonb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I does seem faster though.
- CaughtThinking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0still incredibly wrong with regard to the true number of pages of a given site, but who's counting.
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow. The results seem a ton more relevant on the whole. This is cool.
- kkaabboomm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i did a cursory search for "mario kart emblems" w/o the quotes...
just judging from that one search result alone (i know, i shouldn't) the results are much better. good job google! - barbobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Maybe this one will stop all the seo's from crapping up the search results
- Cambo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like the new update :) more accurate results
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It hardly effected my results, Im first anyways on a normal search :p
- mikeroq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow my name on google gets like 900 or so hits (mikeroq)
my name on the new thing gets over 12000 (mikeroq) - pksynths, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This is actually an entire infrastructure update instead of just an algo change. This means faster crawls. Faster results. Faster updates. Google's been running on the same code since it's inception with tweaks here and there. This is completely rewritten to conform to newer technology and learnings.
This is gonna be hot when it comes out.
-PK - duffield, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0New: Results 1 - 10 of about 36,800,000 for llama [definition]. (0.05 seconds)
Current: Results 1 - 10 of about 33,700,000 for llama [definition]. (0.05 seconds)
They're about the same in speed, but are they searching the same set of data? - krbrowning, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, the results are so much more on target now, acronyms and city names link up with the proper sites instead of random forums.
- cheesetoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Big Daddy" seems fitting
- SirNuke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whoa, I tried a few random searches and it appears to work much better. My personal website now ends up as the third entry/first entry (depending on the search query), versus buried in the second page.
- jayred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is so much better. I tried searching for a couple of things that use to be on the second or third pages of their search results, but are now on the first page. Way to go Google!
- floam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Major improvement. The assholes who bombed my site now longer are above me. My nick is the name of their product, they initially tried to get me to sell it on my site, they had me almost on the second page on a search for "floam" prior to this.
http://floam.sh.nu/files/misc/floam - beelz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0old - Results 1 - 10 of about 15,200,000 for digg. (0.12 seconds)
new1 - Results 1 - 10 of about 22,300,000 for digg. (0.12 seconds)
new2 - Results 1 - 10 of about 23,200,000 for digg. (0.05 seconds) - yensed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I had no idea how "Famous" I was for Finding a San Andreas cheat..
- DonWilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is it me or does it return really, really fast?
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0""The new BigDaddy data center contains new code for examining and sorting the Web, and once it has been tested fully, will become the default source for Web results, according to Yahoo!’s chief search engineer Matt Cutts."
Yahoo? Typo anyone?"
No, Yahoo! is supposed to have an exclamation point after it everywhere.
I'm likin' the new algorithm. - kenwestin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Kind of old news:
http://digg.com/technology/Matt_Cutts_Reveals_Google_s_Next_Generation_Search
http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/bigdaddy/ - spyhunter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0floam, why didn't you just put a link on your site (looking for the other floam? click here) and charge them for referrals? Their offer seemed nice enough, you could make some money, and floam is actually a somewhat popular consumer product so I think it's likely many people searching for 'floam' are really looking for it, not you. (It's not their fault that epinions and others are spamming the term; they probably hate it as much as you.)
- EsotericBoredom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So far so good but I'm wondering if there is a marked improvement on the smaller searches, on the old google a search for my old user name turned up 960 results in .06 sec and in the new google it turned up 972 results in .10 seconds. I'm going to keep checking it with more obscure terms and see what the improvement is. I'm just surprised to see my old user name pops up so bloody often.
- igutekunst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My crap site, which used to not even be listed in on there now! Sweet!
http://isaac.serveftp.org Search in the new test ip: http://66.249.93.104/search?hl=en&q=pizortech&btnG=Google+Search
And old: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=pizortech&btnG=Google+Search - DigeratiPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0its quite an improvement in terms of relevance and speed!
- sdfisher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Still puts trademark squatters first.
- seanroth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is awesome. A search for my name gets my personal site for the 2nd result.
It also seems much faster. - TomB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@PathDaemon: you're kiddin' right?
@radicand: a typo? yeah... the least you can say ;-) - doit3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My site does not show at all on it. :(
- Shmoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is good. I've been getting so annoyed with Google's results lately.
- dmensionz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Matt Cutts is from Google, Not Yahoo!!!
- grahamenglish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes! "Moving on up."
- jimmy8091, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"is your site still in the top results?"
yes, still #1 :) - ogletree, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Man this is old news.
http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/bigdaddy-on-the-move/
Back on Jan 4th. - l0g0ut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0well, if you type "miserable failure" and hit on "i'm feeling lucky", it still goes to the same site as regular google
- Loie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i really hope it will improve on the difference between my searching for a place to BUY something and a place that REVIEWS something I might want to buy Right now this is my greatest annoyance with search engines in general. If i search for ..say.. "hp psc 2355 printer REVIEW" i don't want to sift through pages and pages of e-stores wanting to sell me the thing!
- narphorium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, looks like they've been indexing a whole lot more with this new algorithm. I'll definitely be playing around with this over the next couple of days.
Old database: about 9,680,000,000 pages indexed
New database: about 25,270,000,000 pages indexed - Diseage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the second IP is definetly my new home page now
