- zodiacal, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2goatse i think you have been looking at your ass to long in the mirror. the usa is not the most corrupt. its probably one of the least corrupt.
- firehydra2k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1gotta love those corporations...
- schwit, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5"Peace activist Rachel Corrie was killed by a Caterpillar D-9". Bull! She was killed by her own stupidity and arrogance. She made a choice to stand in front of the oncoming bulldozer.
- goatse, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1"probably one of the least corrupt."
ya, least corrupt but most evil. Most of these coporations' HQ are in USA. - soapyj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's not right to compare a country with a corporation, but in a free society with little market regulation, corporations with scant regard for the offshore environments that they may operate in do seem to flourish.
- puneypunk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0man i wish this worked in the uk better, you can now do the ipod ok, but the deals are mostly US/Canada only, so psh.
- rebrad, on 10/12/2007, -8/+8Political *****. Never the less, I would put them all on my buy list. Stupid ideologues. Post this on a political site. No Digg.
- TeyNur, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Political (propagandist) Commentary - Not News. Not worthy of a Digg.
- twylight, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3OMG11!!!11! I need a tree to hug! no digg u asshat
- Hypersapien, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The US is pretty corrupt, or at least the current administration is, but there are plently of countries that are more corrupt.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0"probably one of the least corrupt."
ya, least corrupt but most evil. Most of these coporations' HQ are in USA.
thats like saying a whole city is evil because one murderer happens to live there. - kdivad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Let's get this comment over with: Where's Microsoft!?!?!
- jav1231, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Propaganda, no digg.
- xmvhcx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Let me explain to you how this works: you see, the corporations finance Team America, and then Team America goes out... and the corporations sit there in their... in their corporation buildings, and... and, and see, they're all corporation-y... and they make money."
- YourParadigm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Since when does the Digg community support this kind of propaganda?
- KissTheRing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2well I like it
digg++ - redman5419, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5What a bunch of political propoganda. In reference to Coca-Cola... "The company also leads in the abuse of workers' rights, assassinations"...assassinations? Who can take this drivel seriously after a statement like that? It's like calling terrorists "Freedom Fighters". Digg, you're slipping.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Load of crap. #1 "evildoer" = Caterpillar, for selling bulldozers to Israel?
Why not put IZH at the top of the list for making the Kalashnikov, which has been used by innumerable Palestinian terrorists to kill Israeli children?
How about putting Toyota on this list, since Toyota pickup trucks seem to be the vehicle of choice for Taliban fighters? - medieval, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This article doesn't cite sources for these claims. I'm skeptical but not dismissing it.
- alpha-male, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0xmvhcx, you beat me to it.
- JarrodMJ, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1what an assload of crap!
- teabag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Uh, what about DeBeers?
- stealthboy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8When did it become so cool to hate the United States? I mean, honestly. It's like it is the norm to just bash the office of the President of the United States and everything about this country. You know what? The U.S. is still the best country in the world, and if you're here and don't like it, leave. I'm very much a conservative Republican, but when Clinton was in office I didn't make fun of him and wish ill of him. Honestly, it's still the office of the President.
I think in general there's just this notion that it's cool to just make fun of authority in general. Kids disrespect their parents and their government. I really do miss the good ol' days when we all actually had pride in our country. - GeneHACKman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hmmm...major corporations are evil...
How is this new and breaking news? - Obsession88, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0NO DIGG!!!
- havaloc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5No Digg
>Many people have heard of the way that Wal-Mart steamrolls its way into >every possible town, destroying local supermarkets and countless small >businesses.
You can't blame Wal-Mart for providing what people want. People choose to shop at Wal-Mart over local supermarkets and small business. There's probably a good reason for it too. - Zethris, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1ok you dumbass conservatives. Time to listen up. I am no brain dead liberal either, but frankly EVERYTHING and more in that article is true based on the deeds that these companies did. While it didn't cite sources, making that article completely invalid, the fact remains, large corporations do things like this to make money at all costs. Including the cost of lives of other people!
Imagine what America Corp. is doing right along with them?
The blind conservative republicans here need to open their eyes immediatly, put down that cap'n crunch and kool-aid turn off that TV, and cease to be brainwashed and recognize what the beloved companies nd corporations you patronize and nearly worship are truely doing to you, an dother people!
Liberals, get off your ass and start working damnit! - racerxyz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I think I'll buy stock in these companies. I commend them to you all!
- glassjoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4no evidence, no references, no digg.
Not that it matters though, since other people are going to digg it, just as a temporary bookmark, and then read the article later (i've been guily of that too when I first joined). So this article will probably stay on the front page for a while.
There should be another button to the left of the article that reads "flag it". - OriginalGamer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The last thing we need on Digg is a political debate. Many companies are evil, but the average American depends too much on them to boycott and/or stop buying their products, I know I won't stop drinking Coke. Also I hate organizations like Adbusters who do nothing but bitch about wrong-doing corporations, yet do nothing to stop them.
- holdemcharts, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where's Ronald McDonald? Have you seen that guy? There is no way he is not up to something. No Digg.
- rbishop, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1stealthboy: "I really do miss the good ol' days when we all actually had pride in our country."
"Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism" ~ Thomas Jefferson
What "good ol' days" are you referring to exactly? - Zethris, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1-meaning no more free lunch for you lazy whiny baby liberals. We need balance, and that requires everyone to work.
- kryptogrowl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Ford cause green house effect.
And Pringles causes people to be fat.
This is lame - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Among automakers, Ford Motor Company is the worst. Every year since 1999, the US Environmental Protection Agency has ranked Ford cars, trucks and SUVs as having the worst overall fuel economy of any American automaker. Ford's current car and truck fleet has a lower average fuel efficiency than the original Ford Model-T.
wow digg - slicerace, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I'm so sick of hearing you whiny losers complain about them! People choose to shop at Walmart - it's not like Walmart is forcing people to go into their stores and buy their crap. Article has no sources, just many claims. No digg.
- Zethris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0rbishop- thomas jefferson was awsome. He also talked about if we didn't have a new government every 50 years or so, we are screwed.
- TRUEPATRIOT, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i like the article but not even close to tech or news no digg.
- ezweave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Alot of this is pure conjecture. While some of it is valid, the Lockheed section didn't actually say anything, just blasting the "military industrial complex". Ummm, ok. Good one. I am liberal and I think that is complete crap. Ford being evil cause their emissions suck? That doesn't make them evil, it just means there are better choices.
Human rights violations are one thing, but companies that employ lots of people and sell products are not bad just because of who they are. What about Halliburton? That is a company that actually has done wrong.
No digg, no digg at all. - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@Zethris:
You're never going to convince anyone of your views with name-calling and exaggerations. I don't subscribe to the right wing or left wing philosophy, and hearing people shout at each other just makes me ignore both sides. - kryptogrowl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Evildoers?
Who wrote this Batman. - YourParadigm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why are people bringing the US Government into this discussion when it discusses private corporations? No Digg.
- ,,|,_, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Wow, I kind of feel bad about taking my Viox (Pfizer) and smoking a marlboro red (Philip Morris) in my Tarus (Ford) on the way to Wal-Mart to pick up some hot chocolate (Nestle) and a soda (Coca-Cola) to drink on the plane (Lockheed Martin) to India where I plan on enslaving a small army of child laborers (Monsanto) that will one day take your tech support job...
- dhastings, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3People, this has nothing to do with the United States! These are *multinational* corporations. Anyone who makes this a matter of politics or nationality is sorely missing the point. These are corporations that put money and share values above the welfare of people like you and me. It is mere coincidence that capitalism, the system practiced mostly by 1st world nations (i.e. USA, Canada, UK, Japan, etc.), is where these corporations primarily operate.
I'm not against the system of capitalism, nor the values of the countries that practice it. I AM against the power that corporations hold over our governments (i.e. US -- the people that provide them with their charter to do business). - Sirocco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Caterpillar joins the list because they sell heavy equipment to people who wish to use them? No Digg for the ***** loser who went bananas writing the article.
- uc79stu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Rating the WORST Corporate evildoers is like rating the most BEAUTIFUL people. It basically means nothing.
There are countless people and companies that do evil things. There are good people who do bad things regularly too.
Digg only for the sake of information, not because the list actually means anything. - diluuk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Read "Atlas Shrugged." It's good.
- gluon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Since HALIBURTON is not on this list, it's clear the list is totally INVALID. Talk about evil-doers??! Nothing really takes the cake more than capitalizing on the tragedy of war.
- estacado, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Taliban drive Toyota? I hope it's hybrid. The article isn't about U.S. It's about the corporations.
